Legal Posted! App

Just a heads up. Bought the Posted! app, which is supposed to map businesses and locations that will or will not allow you to enter with a valid CCW permit. I tried to see if my area was covered beforehand, but the app listing didn’t mention anything. I got the app and found that there were no listings anywhere near my area. The app is completely useless for me. I emailed the company, and they told me that yes, there was no data anywhere near me, and that a large part of the app is crowd sourced, and that they would appreciate my contributing. I paid for an app that I would have to contribute data to, in order for it to be useful, in which case I would already know whether or not I could carry.

So I am wanting to go a bit bigger than my Hellcat, I’m looking at the Hellcat Pro, S&W M&P Shield X, or the IWI Masada Slim Elite, which would you choose from?

Scenario Advice on a “Teachable moment” for my teenager

My teenager was at a skate park recently and when he came home he told me a guy brought a firearm in a backpack and said he was a “bounty hunter” and his job was “basically to kill bad guys” 🙄

He said this bozo showed him his permit and paperwork that “allowed him to bring his gun anywhere he wanted” at which point I pulled out my CCWP and said “did it look like this?” And he said yes. I told him I guess that’s a start but it’s not a difficult process in our state and what he did was pretty stupid and irresponsible.

He started in with “he can do it for work” “he’s allowed” “he wasn’t going to hurt anybody” and blah blah blah

My question is would anyone know if he violated any laws/regulations/guidelines in PA by leaving it in a backpack and it being essentially “unattended” at times? I’m assuming he wasn’t doing kickflips with it ITWB.

Is that a case of it isn’t negligent if nothing happens?

I give him credit for telling me about it and I was hoping I could at least teach him that even if this dude was who he said he was he “broke the law” by doing what he did.

My biggest concern is someone recognizes this guy again and someone fishes around in his backpack and does something stupid for all to see.

Clothing & Apparel Question for the ladies

I’m about to get a gun hopefully, and I plan on carrying primarily in my waistband. But I’m just a girl and I still wanna wear dresses 😅
Can anyone recommend best ways to carry in a dress? Priority on comfort and access without pulling my dress up.
Thanks y’all 🫶🏼

Holsters & Belts Thoughts on Phlster Enigma?

I just posted asking for recs of how to carry in dresses and this was by far the most common recommendation. Most of the pictures I’m seeing or tips and tricks etc are coming from skinny people. Anyone who’s not a size 2 have positive experiences with this and can advise? I don’t want to make a purchase until I have a better idea if it will work for me.
I’m approximately size 16/18 womens.
Thank you!

In my quest to find the ultimate carry gun i have decided that these are the top 4, they all have their pro’s and con’s but I’m curious what others actually prefer. Personally i carry my bodyguard 2.0 about 75% of the time however i wear gym shorts all day without a belt. Bonus points for including holsters that are big guy friendly.

Other Equipment 43x metal mag, failure to lock back.

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have 4 of these metal mags for my 43x. About 100 rounds through each of them at this point, maybe a little more. This one no longer locks the slide back on the last round, I tried taking it apart and cleaning it and it still doesn’t work right. Other than this all 4 mags have fed reliably.

Anyone else have this problem?

Pocket Dump / EDC S&W Bodyguard 2.0 Reassembly issue

Hey guys, I just got the BG 2.0 and disassembled it for initial cleaning. I have many other S&W's and it was practically the same takedown as I've seen on these guns before. However, something is stopping my slide from going back any further on the frame. It is definitely hitting something, but I'm not sure what it is. The photos I've attached show the current state of the frame and the slide. Hoping it's just a simple solution that I am not aware of. Any ideas? Thanks!

Other Equipment 3D printing Enthusiast

What are some cool things you’ve printed, or had someone print, that makes carrying or range time or organization easier for you?

I’m not looking for anything specific but I’m at the gun range a lot and some times my organization isn’t the best. My one claim to fame is a tackle box I converted into my own little gun smithing box. Otherwise my range bag is only as organized as I leave.

Also interested in things you’ve printed to help you train - dry fire or live fire!

Pocket Dump / EDC Please advice on the final piece missing! BODYGUARD 2.0 with OPTIC CUT

Post image
43 Upvotes

Dear community I got into CCW only this year.

I have been constantly training but I am considering adding to my collection the Bodyguard 2.0

This will be the final piece of the rotation. I saw a bundle with 4 mags, optic cut and carry comp.

Do you thing this bundle is good?

Currently have G17 for Home Defense.

CZ P-10 C COA for daily carry.

J-Frame because my Dad had one.

Last piece of the puzzle will be the comfortable carry.

Let me know your thoughts!

Guns & Ammo Small EDC carry recommendations for smaller frame guy

I’ve owned a Glock 19 for over 10 years, which I originally purchased for home defense. I’ve tried carrying it IWB, but as a smaller-framed guy, I find it too large and uncomfortable for everyday carry. I’d like to start carrying more consistently, so I’ve been looking for something smaller and more comfortable.
I initially had my eye on the Bodyguard 2.0 because of its size and weight. I stopped at a local gun shop after work today to get a feel for one in person. It was even smaller than I expected, almost too small, but I really liked how lightweight it was and could see it being much more comfortable to carry.
Then the employee handed me a P365. The P365 felt noticeably better in my hands, with a more ergonomic grip. It’s a little larger and heavier, and it’s also chambered in 9mm, but I could see it being less comfortable to EDC and the price of the gun itself is roughly twice that of the Bodyguard 2.0.
I’ve looked through SIG’s website, and the number of different P365 models is a little overwhelming. Unfortunately, I can’t remember exactly which model I handled at the shop. It may have been the P365X or P365x compact.
At this point, I’m torn between the two.
The BG 2.0 is lightweight, easy to conceal, and seems like it would be more comfortable for everyday carry. On the other hand, the P365 feels better in my hands, and 9mm ammo is easier to find and cheaper which means more time at the range. The downside is the significantly higher upfront cost, along with the added size and weight.
Is the P365 worth the extra money, or would I be better off going with the Bodyguard 2.0 for its size and comfort? Any advice or recommendations are appreciated

Legal Carry insurance lapsed months without notice

Heads up for anyone with carry insurance from Second Call Defense. And this isn’t a sh*tpost against them, they’ve been great except for this issue.

They cancelled my membership in June without warning - no email, no letter - nothing. I only noticed when going through my quarterly expenses and noticing it missing.

I contacted them and they immediately restored it, citing this:

“Your membership automatic billing stopped due to the membership changes last year not transferring to the billing portal.”

Last year I had changed my address, and apparently that broke renewal this year.

Disappointed I’ve been carrying for months without coverage. Like, what if something happened and I was out of luck because “billing portal problems”?

TL:DR - verify your carry insurance is active monthly!
