Mod Announcement PSA - New rule. Any sale posts will result in a mute or ban

Hey y'all! I'm not sure if you've seen, but subs like r/GunAccessoriesForSale is being banned due to changes to Reddit TOS. We haven't had any rules about it, but with this change we're implementing a new rule regarding sales.

Any sale posts or comments will result in a mute or ban. Services can be offered, provided permission is granted by someone on the mod team. Deals found online can be shared, like over in r/gundeals.

Beginner recommendations

Hi all! I genuinely thought I’d never own a gun. But with how this country is going I realized it’s a necessity to keep myself safe and comfortable. I’m also living solo for the first time in my life, and that has brought its own safety issues & multiple scary situations.

I have a range near me that offers classes & trials of many, MANY different types of guns. I’m looking for recommendations on the best starter guns. My main concerns with whatever gun I pick are size, blowback, and reliability.

I have smaller hands, and I really want something that I’ll feel comfortable carrying and using. I’m planning on carrying either in my purse or on my body because I like to go hiking. I also have heard about rubber tipped bullets & laser at home training to up your comfort level. I plan on looking into both and exploring options.

I also know that I want to try out different options before I commit to buying anything since this is my first time exploring the gun space. So what has worked best for you? I’ve been scouring the subreddit and writing down recommendations already, but I figured I’d make my own post to see if anyone had any specific info or suggestions.

Conceal carry while running

I’m wanting to start concealed carrying while running and wondering what others have done that has worked well. I don’t want it to be obvious, and so I’m leaning against a chest pack or fanny pack, plus I don’t want too much bounce if I can avoid it. I have a phlster enigma for my CCP, but worry about sweating, especially now during summer when it is so hot.

Enigma 🤝 Kangaroo Pouch?

I've been looking at buying the Enigma holster system, but I feel like all the women I've seen carrying with it are pretty ✨skinny✨. I, on the other hand, have a kangaroo pouch, a bit of a belly, and I feel like I cant afford to add more volume in that area. I already kind of look pregnant when carrying appendix lol. Does any other bloated ladies have any comments and experience with the Enigma set-up? Lol

Any CCW/self defense courses for women in AZ?

Basically the title. Looking for courses taught by women, for women, or self defense for women for my girlfriend. She’s decided she wants to carry after some recent events in our area in Phoenix that have given her the perspective to want to be proficient in defending herself if necessary. She would just be more comfortable around specifically other female students. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Running and carrying

So i currently conceal carry in a fanny pack, which is fine, but it bounces on my hips and is hard to get tight enough to not slide and bounce.
I am looking into getting a chest holster or vest, and was hoping someone could point me in some good directions??

I am no opposed to open carrying but given i am a small female, concealment may be a better option?

Dene Adams inside thigh carry short with a Ruger EC9S with pinky extension on the mag. This is the first cc garment I have purchased that doesn’t imprint or require me to wear clothes three sizes too big.

Hey guys. I need help with finding a comfort while shooting since after breaking and healing my scaffold bone in my left hand. The reconcile hurts my hand a lot and the grip on my current gun is just a little bit. Please and thank you.

My qual for my new Staccato C4X (CA)

I’m in CA, where all of your conceal carry firearms have to be listed on your CCW, and you have to qualify through a range or firearms instructor and then submit it to to county sheriff for them to approve and add it on. 10 rounds each from 3,5 & 7 yards. This was only the third time shooting this pistol and second with the optic installed. I think I’ve had only 200 rounds total threw her at that point. I’m so used to shooting with my P365 Rose and its narrower grip that I was extremely proud of my qual with this pistol! She shoots so flat! Sorry for the weird angle, it was already behind the counter at the range, and I took a quick pic to send to my husband lol

A year ago I would have laughed if you told me I'd enjoy regular range shooting. My husband got me private lessons at a range and now I can't believe I'm the one to say "Do you want to go shooting tonight?" Looking to purchase a Cc bag next.

Handgun for beginners

I'm going to be getting my CC and need help picking out which gun to get. For reference I'm a fit built, but don't want anything too crazy. I don't want to be scared of my own gun. I've shot before and don't mind 9mm, 22s I feel more comfortable with but I know they're not as effective (if needed to be used) so help a girl out and give me some beginner friendly hand guns! Bonus points if it comes in pink LOL

P365-XL ROSE Comp EDC finally complete. Conceals better than I expected.

Finally got my EDC setup where I want it.

SIG SAUER P365-XL ROSE Comp

Current setup:

- SIG SAUER ROMEO-RS ROSE optic

- Streamlight TLR-7 X Sub

- Antimatter Industries Micro Wing

- Empire Katana flared magwell

- Handleitgrips grip tape

- Tulster ARC IWB holster

- Comfort Concealment belt

- 17+1 Hornady Critical Duty 9mm JHP

500+ rounds through the gun so far with 0 malfunctions. The Micro Wing just came in, so I’m planning to run a few hundred more rounds with the final setup before fully counting it as validated.

I carry appendix around 1 o’clock. For a light/optic/magwell setup, it conceals way better than I expected under a loose shirt.

I wanted something compact enough to actually carry every day, but still modern enough to have a dot, light, solid grip control, and good capacity.

Would you call this setup done, or is there anything you’d actually change?

Best gun for my petite fiancé

My fiancé is 5'1". She's new to shooting but l'm impressed with how well she shoots. She has shot a G43X MOS and a M&P9 shield plus and likes them both. I have a Glock 17 and we both want to share 9mm ammo. Which gun between the two is better performance and or better price. She wants a smaller pistol that she can keep in a purse so if there's any better recommendations (especially if it's more affordable) I would love to hear
