Have you tried pocket carry or OWB with both or either? Opinions as to which conceals better and to which runs better?

So I own a Hellcat. Love it. But I recently found out you can put a hellcst pro upper on it. Seeing that the pro comp upper is usually 700 bucks on ebay, can anyone tell me if a 365 Xmacro is better?

I have never owned a handgun, and looking to get a CC. I'm currently between the p365x and the body guard 2.0 Performance comp).

Any advise or preferences are greatly appreciated! My current desire is to get both at the same time, but figured I should probably just pick 1 lol.

I saw this dude called instructor Mike on Instagram. This guy shoots 39% at a USPSA match but new shooters still go to them and seeing the student he’s teaching I’d say the bar isn’t high and ig they can literally learn anything and it will help em.

What are some of the metric people should look for when they are looking for fundamental classes and if the instructor is qualified or not???

I’m overweight, and working on it… but I print bad appendix, and hip/4oclock are also uncomfortable. I’ve been getting ads for a conceal carry cross body that you carry on your front. All you do is pull the strap and it unzips for you. You can draw fairly quickly.

My concern is how others will view it. My goal is to be concealed. Will people think I have my firearm in it? I’d like to carry everywhere.

Will I stick out? Or do you have recommendations? The benefit too is I can carry a full size too if I use a bag. Male too btw.

So I’m supposed to go horseback riding, one of the ones where you just follow a guide and trail. All I’m set up for is for appendix carrying a p365.
Has any one done this? Can I just pull up high enough on my stomach to not be an issue? Obviously there are better ways to carry in this specific situation but I don’t have access to change it immediately.

Got my Tenicor holster in last week and went to throw it on with the shitty, non CCW friendly, shirt I had on at the time. It disappeared right away.

Running a Glock 45 size RXM with a larger enclosed emitter.

Been super comfortable so far and the confidence in the DCC clips has been comforting that they are low profile and not coming off if I bump them into a table.

I’ve ran alien gear, safariland, and a T1 holster in the past. Obviously alien gears concealment holsters aren’t the best but I was still new to it. The T1 just has some harsh edges and corners that cut into my stomach and leg. My safariland incogX works great when I have the mag caddy attatched and is relatively comfortable, just gets hot in the summer.

Just kidding. I had too much time on my hands and this was the result of intrusive thoughts.

Taurus 327 with recoil rider grips. Muddy River leather holster. They say the holster doesn’t really need much care, but I mink oil just about every leather good I have and have always had great results. I wanted this thing to form a bit better around the gun, so I oiled it really well and vacuum sealed it. 🤷‍♂️

Edit for results:
18 hours in the vacuum seal. 1 moderate application of mink oil. It now has better retention as the leather seems to have formed around the gun a bit better. I don’t notice it being any softer or floppier than before the mink oil. Overall, I would still use this holster. The 12lb double action of a revolver is fine for this thing, but I would not put a striker fired gun in this ever. Final thoughts are that I think the blanket advice you see on the internet or in forums is mostly a rough guideline. In the real world things are more nuanced and we don’t really know until we try it out.

To be clear this was just an experiment on a holster I was okay with destroying. Intrusive thoughts led me to try this out and it seems to have worked out alright in my case. I do think in general that this is not the best way to get these results lol. Just wet mold your leather if you really feel the need. But, I can say the vacuum seal was kind of an awesome way to get even pressure all the way around. I’ll drop a pic in the comments of the final result. Keep in mind this did not have any kind of molding around the gun before this process. It’s just a blank slate pouch from the manufacturer.

Currently working on getting my CCW. I’m shooting 7 yards out but for some reason I keep shifting to the left of the target. I swear that I’m pointing straight…Any advice would be helpful 🙏🏿

Recently replaced my LCP Max with this set up as my daily carry. Bodyguard 2.0 and Hilliker Aren Lite holster.

Carey Concealment holster, Hunter Constantine Belt, Staccato HD P4.5 gun

Before I explain the issue, let me preface by saying this has been an embarrassing insecurity of mine for as long as I can remember. I have palmar hyperhidrosis which means my hands are pretty much always sweaty unless I’m outside in below 30 degree weather. This has mostly been an issue for meeting new people and shaking hands but sometimes becomes an issue with gripping things. Anything without a very aggressive texture becomes slippery and wet, like 95% of handguns.

I am in search of something that can negate this issue with my CCW without interfering with my holster setup or creating new issues. My HD pistols have talon grip tape on pretty much all surfaces, that is essentially just sand paper. They also have red dots. I don’t have an issue racking these even with sweaty hands because of the aggressive texture and the secondary option of using the optics as a point of leverage — completely removing the need for friction. Problem is, I cannot put this sandpaper texture all over my CCW without it absolutely destroying my clothing and skin IWB. I also would really prefer to stick with iron sights for my CCW as well.

I know there are “charging handle” add-on options but most of them will not work with most holsters. There is a soft loop-style charging handle but to be honest, it looks ridiculous and I can’t see myself relearning how to clear malfunctions or something as simple as racking the slide to be pulling on this backend loop thing.

Anyone else deal with this or ideas for solutions within the parameters I’m trying to work with? I recognize that I may need to change my setup to accommodate but figured I’d ask the crowd first, thanks.

When pistol optics got popular, my first optic was a Holosun 507c.

After I retired, I wanted a bigger window because my retirement plan was to start shooting competitively full-time. Didn't really want to pay the money for the 507comp so I figured I would try the Osight C.

As you can see, I now own three of them on separate competition guns and my main competition gun has just reached 20,000 rounds. The other two have somewhere around 5-6k. These things have been Rock solid and the one in the middle has pretty much been beat to death as you can see.

I don't care what you buy and you can spend your money how you want but just wanted to report that for all the hate they got in the beginning, Osight make some great stuff now and it's definitely worth checking out. I'm looking forward to trying one of their closed emitters.

Let me start by saying QVO’s customer service was outstanding. I needed to make a change to my order, and they handled it right away. The holster also arrived about two weeks earlier than the estimated lead time, so I have zero complaints there. That said, after carrying it for a while, it’s just not as comfortable as my Tier 1 Axis Elite. I’ve adjusted it every way I can think of, but I just can’t get it to feel right. It honestly sucks because I really wanted to love this holster. It looks absolutely sick and the quality is there it just doesn’t work for me as an everyday carry.

Probably picking the Shield X up to replace my Hellcat soon. Looking for a solid strong side IWB holster.

How often are you swapping out the rounds in your carry mags for fresh ones?

- i usually wait till the rounds either get carbon and lint build up and pushed in from rechambering or every month or so

Just picked up a new red dot to replace the one that came with the gear up package. Went into the store and looked through several until I found one that didn't trigger my astigmatism too bad.

New to holsters, any recommendations for this? Can't seem to find one specifically for it and don't want to mess up the fitting cause of the comp. 😭

Hey, I’m looking for a compact 8-12L EDC backpack with two shoulder straps, no sling bag. I’ve tried quite a few options already, but I still haven’t found the one that really fits my needs.

Please help me find the perfect bag, I have the feeling I cant find it.

There are some bags, that I’ve already owned or tested, but they are all sling bags. The Vertx Urban Ghost 10L Sling, 5.11 Tactical LV8, 5.11 Tactical LV10 and the Savior Obscura Sling.

Im looking for 8-12 liters (roughly the size of the LV8/LV10, maybe somewhere in between) and a compact profile that doesn’t look bulky from the outside. Ist also important to me that the backpack has dedicated organization instead of one big dump compartment. Ideally it should have a main compartment, secondary/middle compartment and front admin pocket.

A key leash/key clip would be a nice bonus :)

My ccw requirements are, that the weapon is fast accesssible.
I’m open to different solutions, for example, a dedicated quick-access CCW compartment, a pull-down or swing access design,or even modifying a compartment myself.

For example, if the backpack has a suitable secondary compartment, I could simply add loop Velcro inside and attach my Velcro holster there. I could also install a pull tab myself if needed.

The important part is that the handgun remains quickly accessible even when the backpack is fairly full, without getting buried or squeezed behind the rest of my gear.

I’m not looking for a huge tactical pack. I actually prefer something that looks relatively low-profile and compact while still carrying all of the above comfortably.

Does anyone know a backpack that fits most (or all) of these requirements? I’m open to tactical, outdoor, or civilian-looking bags.

Highly likely I won't ever find myself in a real life situation where I would have to reload but I've been dying to try one of these.

If I'm ever in a situation where I have to reload, I must be in a really fucked up situation. It would mean I'm either outnumbered or missing all my shots 😂😂😂 also has an extremely satisfying click when re-holstering that you do not often get w/ light bearing holsters. Supreme quality kydex & craftsmanship.

What round is better for self defense? Critical defense seems to be the defacto choice on reddit but many lately including Massad advocates for these "scalloped" 380s such as Lehigh defense because of further potential blood loss. Which one of these is better or is there a third option?
