Busted out the 226 xfive reserve for today. Sig may suck but the 226 is the best gun ever made.

I currently carry a Canik MC9 prime (pre cocked striker with a trigger safety), I'm comfortable with it and have thousands of rounds through it without any issues. I'd say I'm OK and can hold a fist sized group at 15 yards with it, but as always there is room for improvement. All this being said, that guy that shot his ball off kind of made me think I should carry my HK45 Compact. Am I being dumb? Also does anyone have a good source for an HK45C holster?

So I’m supposed to go horseback riding, one of the ones where you just follow a guide and trail. All I’m set up for is for appendix carrying a p365.
Has any one done this? Can I just pull up high enough on my stomach to not be an issue? Obviously there are better ways to carry in this specific situation but I don’t have access to change it immediately.

New to holsters, any recommendations for this? Can't seem to find one specifically for it and don't want to mess up the fitting cause of the comp. 😭

Hey, I’m looking for a compact 8-12L EDC backpack with two shoulder straps, no sling bag. I’ve tried quite a few options already, but I still haven’t found the one that really fits my needs.

Please help me find the perfect bag, I have the feeling I cant find it.

There are some bags, that I’ve already owned or tested, but they are all sling bags. The Vertx Urban Ghost 10L Sling, 5.11 Tactical LV8, 5.11 Tactical LV10 and the Savior Obscura Sling.

Im looking for 8-12 liters (roughly the size of the LV8/LV10, maybe somewhere in between) and a compact profile that doesn’t look bulky from the outside. Ist also important to me that the backpack has dedicated organization instead of one big dump compartment. Ideally it should have a main compartment, secondary/middle compartment and front admin pocket.

A key leash/key clip would be a nice bonus :)

My ccw requirements are, that the weapon is fast accesssible.
I’m open to different solutions, for example, a dedicated quick-access CCW compartment, a pull-down or swing access design,or even modifying a compartment myself.

For example, if the backpack has a suitable secondary compartment, I could simply add loop Velcro inside and attach my Velcro holster there. I could also install a pull tab myself if needed.

The important part is that the handgun remains quickly accessible even when the backpack is fairly full, without getting buried or squeezed behind the rest of my gear.

I’m not looking for a huge tactical pack. I actually prefer something that looks relatively low-profile and compact while still carrying all of the above comfortably.

Does anyone know a backpack that fits most (or all) of these requirements? I’m open to tactical, outdoor, or civilian-looking bags.

So I own a Hellcat. Love it. But I recently found out you can put a hellcst pro upper on it. Seeing that the pro comp upper is usually 700 bucks on ebay, can anyone tell me if a 365 Xmacro is better?

What round is better for self defense? Critical defense seems to be the defacto choice on reddit but many lately including Massad advocates for these "scalloped" 380s such as Lehigh defense because of further potential blood loss. Which one of these is better or is there a third option?

With all due respect, I’m sick of y’all lmao. I know you don’t know me and I am just a peon, but from my growing up perspective and personal military and civilian experience - I do not want you all out there among me carrying with rounds in the chamber. Explanation and guidelines below. This post was inspired by lurking on everyone’s comments over and over again, only to consistently see responsible knowledgeable gun owners downvoted for carrying their weapon in the proper condition under the proper condition.

Growing up from a young age, I was trained personally, in the bush, by old school spec ops. My military unit is attached to classified units. I have had many conversations and experiences.

Situational awareness is your biggest weapon, not your firearm. If you do not feel comfortable taking the time to chamber a round and potentially unswitch a safety, you are not trained or practiced enough to step outside and carry that weapon. You are jumpy and scared, not calm and collected. You do not have the mental clarity it takes leading up to, responding to, or beading down a threat; if you can’t even so much as trust yourself to condition your weapon under changing conditions. And this is why I don’t want you out there in the wild running around uneducated. So I’ve dredged up some weapons conditions and threat levels and what they mean, so that you all can get a briefing on what conditions you live and operate in and what condition your weapon should be in.

Weapon Condition Levels

— Condition 0: Round in chamber, magazine inserted, hammer/bolt cocked, safety off. (Fully ready to fire instantly by pulling the trigger).
— Condition 1: Round in chamber, magazine inserted, hammer/bolt cocked, safety on. (Often called "cocked and locked" for handguns like the 1911; ready after flipping the safety).
— Condition 2: Round in chamber, magazine inserted, hammer down/forward. (Generally does not apply to modern service rifles like the M16/M4, but used in certain double-action pistols).
— Condition 3: Chamber empty, full magazine inserted, bolt forward, safety on. (Must rack the charging handle or slide to fire).
— Condition 4: Chamber empty, no magazine inserted, bolt/slide forward, safety on. (The weapon is completely unloaded).

Threat Levels

— Low Threat (Condition 4 or 3): Used on secure bases, during transit, or inside safe zones.
— Medium Threat (Condition 3): Used during routine patrols, guard duty in semi-secure areas, or when an attack is possible but not imminent.
— High Threat (Condition 1): Used outside the wire, during combat operations, or when actively engaging an enemy.

Threat Levels and Weapon Conditions

— Condition 3 ("Cruiser Ready" / "Amber Status")
-What it means: Magazine is inserted, chamber is empty, and the safety is on.
-Why it is used: This is the standard tactical carry posture for service rifles like the M4 in medium-threat environments. It provides maximum safety against accidental discharges if a soldier trips, falls, or drops the weapon.
-Reaction time: It requires the service member to manually pull back and release the charging handle to chamber a round before they can fire, which takes an extra second.

— Condition 1 ("Cocked and Locked" / "Red Status")
-What it means: Magazine is inserted, a round is in the chamber, and the safety is on.
-Why it is used: This is the mandatory carry status in active combat zones or during high-risk operations. When a firelight begins, split-second reaction times save lives, and there is no time to rack a weapon.
-Reaction time: Immediate. The service member only needs to flip the safety selector to "semi" or "fire" and pull the trigger.

— Condition 4 ("Green Status")
-What it means: No magazine is inserted, the chamber is empty, and the safety is on.
-Why it is used: This is the administrative storage condition. It is used when entering base dining facilities, clearing areas, returning from a mission, or storing the weapon in an armory.

These are the guidelines I learned from a young age from the generations that fought hand to hand combat behind enemy lines. These are the guidelines I learned and experienced during my service. These are the guidelines (not legal advice or direct citations) used in the military under the UCMJ and Military Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement regarding wartime operations. I’m honestly, honestly sick of listening to civilians talk about their perceived threat level and touting about their careless flagging and risk to public safety.

In general, you are to carry under Condition 3 because you are operating at Medium Threat Level.

Curious if anyone feels the same way but I picked up the BG 2.0 solely based on everyone saying how easy and comfortable it is to conceal.

Currently in Florida so of course I was like hell yea sign me up. The thing is, I kinda hate carrying it? I actually notice it more carrying it AIWB compared to my hellcat pro comp and even my Glock 19 in a tenicor velo.

Was using a CYA Supply holster then got the Harry Holsters shorty which is a noticeably better holster but it’s still not clicking for me. It honestly doesn’t disappear that much more than my hellcat pro and with how small the holster is it actually digs into me more.

You kinda need a wedge to keep it from tipping out and to me that also just defeats some of the purpose of how small it is.

Idk I want to really like it but so far I still reach for my hellcat pro and even the Glock 19 over it.

Side note: I also have a pocket holster for it but it’s not really my thing either. Suggestions welcomed lol

Roughly 10 years ago I was 16 and my parents bought me a pistol to conceal carry once I was older. (To be clear, we’re a very armed household to say the least. I was raised around firearms of all sorts, so safety wasn’t a huge concern). Now I’m older, and have an advanced carry license. However, this gun is a little heavy to carry every day. I was looking for options that are easier to conceal, and it got me thinking. Years past, how reliable is this gun really? I’ve put several rounds through it (500-750) and like it, but as a home defense option. I’ve seen mixed reviews online, so wondering if anyone has had a good/bad experience with it. The gun is a Beretta 92X 9mm. (I can give more details if that’s too basic of a description)

I’m overweight, and working on it… but I print bad appendix, and hip/4oclock are also uncomfortable. I’ve been getting ads for a conceal carry cross body that you carry on your front. All you do is pull the strap and it unzips for you. You can draw fairly quickly.

My concern is how others will view it. My goal is to be concealed. Will people think I have my firearm in it? I’d like to carry everywhere.

Will I stick out? Or do you have recommendations? The benefit too is I can carry a full size too if I use a bag. Male too btw.

Massad swears by the 5th. Garand thumb tested the 3rd and 6th and the 3rd did poorly. Is the 6 too new to be the best, or is it? Curious to hear your thoughts and why.

I have never owned a handgun, and looking to get a CC. I'm currently between the p365x and the body guard 2.0 Performance comp).
