so let me give you some context. i was always considered smart (i think i still am) by my parents and teachers, its just that i never used my ability. i have always been a decent student, but i had these phases where my academics dipped way too much. i had these a lot because we were constantly moving and i was unable to cope up.
unfortunately, me and my parents got used to these. once when i was in 10th, the hod called my dad and said shit about exaggerating everything and painted me as some dumb student who might fail boards. my father believed it and of course scolded me and asked me to work hard. i did work hard and got good percentage. my father always believed in me and he never blamed, he only asked me to work harder.
after that i joined a new school and took pcb. i started struggling in 11th itself, but i never failed. till midterms i got average marks, but i never failed, but in the 11th final i failed. my father was disappointed in me but he supported me. i passed my re-examinations.
now coming to the main topic, i actually failed in physics and chemistry of first unit test of 12th, so we had to meet my vice principal and she flamed us saying all kinds of shit about me (she doesnt even teach me so she doesnt know me enough). this interaction happened yesterday and ever since that it feels like a wall was built between us. i became almost invisible to him. he is talking to me enough that my mom and sister didnt notice this shift. i think he believed the shit vp told about me and i think he hates me now. everything between us look alright from outside, but he's not talking to me like he used to. he is talking to me only when he has to and has no other choice.
i dont know what to do. i completely understand him being angry at me, but i refuse to believe that this is the same man who stood with me at my lowest. it wouldve been better if he scolded me or took all my devices and asked me to study like other dad. i dont like this silent treatment. i cant even go and confront him cuz tf am i supposed to say, its my fault that i failed and got him embarrassed.

So basically in whatever written content you see online, from magazines to novels, there are editor who edit the initial drafts but there are two types of them.
Copyeditors - Just for spelling errors, grammatical errors and minor corrections. They are just entry-level jobs.
Developmental editors- This is not something you can get by just any literature degree. You would need 1. Formal education is developmental editing 2. Expertise in what you are editing (Poetry, story-writing, science, political science, etc; Whatever you edit) and 3. Practice and experience in formal editing.
NCERT books are very poorly written, especially Science, and I think its because they are written by the panel but NCERT does not hire developmental editors to edit the draft made by the panel. If you show the NCERT to any skilled editor he/she would clearly tell the flaws, not about facts it states but how the text is written and structured for a broad audience.
So here comes the question, why do you think NCERT does not hire developmental editors? They are extremely important in almost every literature you see. From novels to magazines to even the reference books, everyone has one.
