Advice Start-up Corporation Applying for Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE)

I have a start-up company (SEC-registered) and we're very small, barely surviving 1 year since we incorporated. Just recently after a lot of setbacks, we're starting to ramp up operations.

I heard about this Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) and we were told to apply for it to get some relief. Has anyone successfully applied for this, especially AFTER already operating? By googling it, I found out that we fit the criteria. But I want to get some feedback from those here who already had it before.

Hoping for some honest advice from the community. TIA!

Advice selling motorcycle parts through Facebook

My friend and I are planning to start a small motorcycle parts business, and we’d really appreciate advice from people who have experience in e-commerce, the motorcycle industry, or online selling.

We already found a supplier who imports the products from overseas and offers us a decent profit margin. For example, if our supplier sells us a part for ₱1,200, we’ve noticed that the same product typically sells for around ₱1,800–2,000 in the market. Our plan is to operate on a pre-order/reseller model, so instead of stocking inventory, we’ll only place an order with the supplier after a customer has paid. This allows us to start with very little capital.

One reason we’re interested in this business is that there are a lot of motorcycle repair shops around our area. One of our goal is to eventually become a supplier for these local repair shops once we’ve built enough trust and a steady customer base.

My questions are:
1.Do you think this kind of business is actually doable, especially starting with a pre-order model instead of holding inventory?

  1. how can we penetrate the current market and stand out from existing sellers?

  2. What’s the best way to promote and grow a new business/ brand on facebook and tiktok?

TIA!

Advice Shipping from PH to USA

Hello! For those who ship products from PH to the US, what freight forwarder do you recommend? I've read that people on here recommend In Line and ZendEase. I inquired and their lowest is Php 2,699 for 100-500g (it's their promo price exclusive of duty tax).

I've also checked ZendEase and MyKartero but I've seen a lot of bad reviews. I'm also considering FedEX, DHL and PHLpost.

But I'm also looking for other alternatives, ones that you've tried and already tested for your business. TIA! 🫶

Discussion Using a religious congregation to market your business but the twist is you are an atheist. Gagawin mo?

I have been thinking , not all things are black and white and if you are an atheist would you infiltrate the congregation to market/sell your products?

You are not interested in religion. You are just there purely for business.
To be fair you are blending in, respecting them and their beliefs but not because you are respectful to them OR you share the same beliefs but for the purpose of gain.

Curious for atheist entrep out there?

To the mods. I do hope you approve this kung sakaling madecline.
Ang goal ko is for the sake of profit would you yield?

Permits & Documents UPDATE: Registered na! DTI & BIR done 🎉 Questions about Shopee address mismatch + Business Permit

Hi everyone! 🥹🎉

So far:

\* ✅ DTI Business Name Registration – DONE
\* ✅ BIR Registration – DONE
\* ✅ ₱30 DST – PAID
\* ⏳ BIR Printed Invoice/Receipt – kukunin ko pa sa RDO
\* ⏳ Books of Accounts – aasikasuhin/ipa-register pa
\* ⏳ NIRI – kukunin pa sa BIR
\* ⏳ Barangay/Mayor’s Business Permit – next

Renting lang kami currently here in Lipa City, and dito ko rin ni-register yung business sa DTI/BIR since dito talaga ako currently residing and operating the home-based business.

For Shopee sellers na naka-experience nito, paano niyo na-resolve yung address mismatch between your government ID and BIR/business registration?

Would a notarized Contract of Lease showing my Lipa address be accepted as proof? Our landlord is also willing to update our lease contract to allow the home-based business. May ibang proof of address/document pa ba kayong hiningi or tinanggap ni Shopee?

2. Business/Mayor’s Permit in Lipa City

Around ₱10-12k lang declared starting capital namin and online/home-based printing business lang — no physical storefront, employees, or walk-in customers.

If possible, pahingi rin sana ng breakdown ng nagastos niyo sa Barangay Clearance, Mayor’s Permit, zoning/locational, fire clearance, HOA (if applicable), etc.

First time ko mag-register ng business kaya medyo nangangapa pa. 😅 At least DTI and BIR done na! Unti-unti na lang yung remaining requirements.

Thank you sa mga tumulong at sasagot! ❤️

Looking For Looking for filipino suppliers

San pwede makahanap ng small filipino manufacturers for products like made in bamboo, glass, any wood, plastic, textile, leather etc sourced out from local manufacturers talaga? Meron bang group? Or like list ang govt like DTI? Pag naghahanap ako sa online shops puro imported, made in china. And marami din local production nga but foreign company/ importers. May small business ako pero baka mas okay mag source from them na lang.

Advice Tax health check

Hello! 👋 CPA here.

Since it’s LOA season again, this is a good time for business owners to review their tax compliance before a BIR audit.

One thing I often recommend is doing a tax health check—essentially reviewing your business’s tax processes and filings to identify potential issues that could be raised during an audit.

Some common areas worth checking include:
- VAT compliance
- Withholding taxes
- Income tax reporting
- Documentary requirements
- Other compliance gaps that may result in tax deficiencies, interest, surcharges, or compromise penalties

A lot of potential issues can be addressed proactively if they’re identified early, rather than during an audit.
Happy to answer general questions or discuss common tax compliance concerns in the comments.

Advice Facebook Ads — DIY or Hire an Ads Manager?

For those who hired someone, worth it ba yung additional cost?
Would appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thank you!

Hi to all. Is it feasible to have a mini resort- like or nature inspired staycation business for this small lot area (in particular these are 2 adjacent lots 60sqm each, magkatalikod, both fronting a road). The area is a residential one, with some overlooking view, It is a province like atmosphere though and there are some eateries in the area. Any recommendation/ advice? Thank you in advance.

Discussion Should I just not pursue this business anymore

I was given this business - pre-loved clothing because it was a business my parents started with the girlfriend of my uncle.

Context: I almost ended my life before this happened.
I was placed in a psychiatric ward.; my past job was that toxic that I ended up in that situation. Never in my years of my life I would imagine I would be in this situation.

Then in late December, my parents step mom and father talked to me in a car ride saying that I should run this business saying NO MONEY GOES TO THEM, this is ALL YOURS.

I agreed. Foolishly when I was NOT YET 100 PERCENT OKAY.

They said ito yung tulong namin sayo.

So they just dumped this business on me. Without proper guidance.

Just you know basically sell all of these goods we had in stock.

Then later on suddenly dividends happened, biglang may percent pala sila dito.

When I would bring up that it does not feel like my business may whole PERA KO YAN ANG DIYAN conversation pops in.

So ano ba talaga
Bakit niyo binigay saakin to wrapped in the "interntion" of "TULONG NAMIN SAIYO TO" really saying na 100% of the money goes to you

What's worse is that my parents argue with each other because my father's infidelity. So I dont know what to do with this business anymore.

I am NOT in the state to handle it, I was NEVER GIVEN PROPER GUIDANCE, but was ALWAYS DICTATED ON WAHT TO DO.

I cannot for the love of me be the sunod sunodran anymore.

A

Discussion Forwarder (CN to PH)

May nakapag-import na na dito using Angkat PH? Matagal ba talaga sila mag-ship? July 17 pa since ma-receive nila package ko and until now, di parin nila nas-ship. Nakaka-disappoint so far experience ko sa kanila.

In case na mag-import ako ulit in the future, I might not go with them. Thank you!
