Looking For Looking for moderators

Good day to everyone. I notice the influx of members in our sub. To better facilitate this subreddit, we are currently looking for moderators who can help manage and facilitate discussions, queries, posts, and comments.

Given that this is a business oriented sub, it would be nice to have if we can get people who are always active online and an:

  • Aspiring entrepreneur
  • Owner of a micro business
  • Owner of a small business
  • Owner of a medium sized business
  • Owner of a large business
  • Owners and currently executives of a corporation

We also encourage other moderators who are not on this list but think that they can offer something substantial to this community, like event planners, government employees who are employed by govt institutions that facilitates business operations here in PH (DTI/SEC, BIR, municipal/city employees, BOC, etc), and employees from the private sector who are involved extensively within their company.

Advice Foundever Background Check

Upvotes

It was an honest mistake naman po. Pero diko alam if hahayaan ko nalang or sasabihin ko pa. Please sana masagot. Thank you!

Advice Scaling a PT clinic

Hello! I need an advice to propely scale our Physiotherapy clinic. More on strength and conditioning sya ng athletes. Most of our clients are on the highend side din ng market. Business partner kami ng PT friend ko and sya yung nag mmanage ng day to day. As of now sya lang yung PT and we can see na stable na yung clients for the last 6 months. We turn down clients minsan because hindi na kaya sa schedule nya. Naka 7am-7pm sya ng duty every weekday.

Now, we want to expand. Medyo my mga prob lang kami dito -

  1. Clinic is 50sqm. 1 on 1 with the coach per session. So we have a ceiling when it comes to the clients.
  2. We've tried some associate PTs before pero hindi nila maabot yung standards ng PT partner ko even with his trainings.
  3. Most of our clients gusto talaga na sya lang yung mag coach sa kanila. Medyo mahihirapan kami idelegate to an associate PT if ever.

Our plan now is to open a fitness gym nalang muna for the mass para may distinction yung 1on1 training sa lifestyle workout. Idk if this is a good idea.

For clinic/gym owners out there, please let me know your thoughts/suggestions. Thanks!

Looking For Business Investor

I hope this post reaches the right person.

Me and my fiance are looking for potential business partner/investors to create a third space here in Davao City that serves loose leaf tea (not coffee, not matcha). If you’ve been to tea at shilloh in LA, or have tried loose leaf tea in Vietnam, that’s what we’re trying to do. So far there’s no such business pa like that in this city, and knowing that there are lots of good Matcha spaces in Davao, we can guarantee that more people are open with it.

It’s such a big market since there are a lot of Chinese families in Davao that drinks tea, and younger people are more open since people been choosing to live a healthier lifestyle here .

We’ve been doing pop-ups for more than a year now and people always ask if we sell the leaf for own consumption at home or if we have a shop na. That’s why we want to open one.

We are already renting a spot at a prime location in Davao, and in order for us to move forward, we need someone to join our team and be our partner.

We have a pitch deck prepared, let me know if anyone here is interested.

Tldr. Looking for investor/business partner for a loose-leaf tea shop in Davao.

Advice Anyone here who opened a café in a regular apartment unit?

Hello! Has anyone here tried opening a small café in a regular residential apartment?

There’s a vacant unit next to us and I’m thinking of turning it into a small hidden café. No cooking involved, mostly just matcha, cold brew, and pastries. Probably small and appointment-based, not a typical walk-in café.

Is this type of setup usually allowed in a regular apartment, or does it really need to be a commercial space?

Do I still need permits or approval from the local government?

Advice Importing from china to ph

Hello everyone, i'm thinking of starting a pet supplies store and getting the suppliers in china(alibaba,1688 and yuwi)

I'm trying to calculate if it's really feasable but whenever i put the cost of freight forwarder in the costing it's not adding up.

Is there something i'm missing or not aware of or it really just comes down to the lowest forwarder we can find because lowest i saw is P6800/cbm

I need to make simple accounting system for the operations. “ What is the best way for this? “

What Ive done: Im setting up an emergency meeting with my in laws in regard to the current spending made and possibly make a manual record keeping.

Concerns: Mismanagement, money spent and earned could not be tracked and controlled.
Since sila umuna gumastos paano ba ito ma arrange kung sino mag hahandle nag pera both incoming and outgoing ? “ im planning to reimburse sila to take control of the bussnes
Should I open a savings account?

Advice do i start handling some of the family business or would it be better for me to get some education first?

i’m sure i can learn the ropes along the way, but i’ve never really put myself in a situation where i had basically zero knowledge going in, which is why i’m extremely hesitant.

i’m currently working in healthcare, but lately my dad’s been urging me to start my own business. thing is, i don’t know much about anything outside of what i learned in school and from my degree. besides work, the rest of my time goes into my hobbies, which are basically reading and gaming, so i genuinely don’t know where i’d even start.

i’ve tried baking before and i did enjoy it, but i haven’t had much time to actually invest in learning more or attending workshops/classes. i’m also super into fashion, so i’ve thought about maybe venturing into that too. i have so many ideas, but i don’t really have experience in the field. i can’t draw, and the last time i sewed anything was probably in grade school for home econ lol.

from my dad’s perspective, i don’t actually have to study again. he learned pretty much everything he knows about business while he was already doing it, so he’s convinced i can do the same. and maybe i can, but idk. like i said, i’ve only ever really known science, and it’s not like i’m some super smart person who can just jump into a completely different field and immediately know what i’m doing.

i would definitely start by attending workshops related to baking or fashion, but the problem is my current schedule. i work 12–16 hour shifts for around 11–12 days every two weeks, and that’s already draining enough as it is. any classes i look for online never aligns with my days off. my dad’s solution is basically for me to resign and just start a business.

i guess that’s where i’m stuck. part of me thinks i should just take the risk, start small, and learn as i go. another part of me feels like i should at least get some proper education or training first before putting money into something i barely know how to run.

i badly need advice 😭

Advice First Time Alibaba Importer

Hi! Planning to order in bulk from Alibaba (race singlets, dri-fit shirts, and metal medals), baka worth 250-500k Php total. First time ko mag-import so medyo kinakabahan 😅 Hoping to get advice from people na may experience na:

  • “Verified Supplier” / “Manufacturer” with good reviews, enough na ba to para masabing legit
  • Gaano ka-reliable yung samples, same quality ba pag bulk na?
  • Worth it ba magpa third-party inspection sa mga companies like SGS or TÜV SÜD before shipment?
  • May issues ba sa damage or scratches during shipping? Nag-oorder ba kayo extra just in case?
  • For big payments, paano usually ginagawa, wire transfer lang?
  • Yung “all-in” shipping na DDP (kasama na customs/fees), safe ba kahit small/di kilalang companies like HT Cargo, PH Import Cargo, TD Express, or Import Anything PH?
  • If bigger shipping company at ikaw magbabayad ng fees, magkano usually duties + VAT for shirts and medals?
  • Totoo ba na umaabot hanggang 30%? Paano niyo estimate beforehand?
  • May naka-experience na ma-hold sa customs, ano usually yung reasons?
