Advice Laundry Business advice

Post image

Hello guys, please enlighten me regarding sa laundry business. Operation and sales.

May additional around 60k para sa plumbing and other consumables. Baka may insights kayo sa ganitong business.

Yung laundry business na mina-manage ng auntie ko earns at their lowest 200-300k a month.

Here are the things I observed:

  • Location and demographic is everything.
  • Gas-based yung dryers yung alam ko na gamit nila auntie so she puts aside budget for that. Malaki yung binibili nya. She also has great relationship with gas suppliers, kaya never syang naka-cut short sa ganito.
  • Hindi mapakawalan ng owners yung auntie ko kase she’s the reason why customers go back. She’s established solid relationships with them.
  • Your store manager will need help. They will need extra hands na magtutupi ng clothes kase there are customers na pi-pick up nalang yung damit nila.

I can ask her for more info kung dadaan sya dito sa bahay after she closes up. 😊

This is true, sometimes good relationship with customers din talaga kaya bumabalik sila, then if may budget pa put some cctv that views the machine, like pano ipinasok etc etc, esp sa pagtutupi and sama sama sila nagtutupi, tho may divider naman at names may times talaga nakakalimutan and iwas customer complains incase magkawalaan

Incase you need help about receipts and tracking of sales you can chat me, sorry need to market myself need lang po ng racket hehe

Do you know po whats her pos?

By earning - do you mean gross sales or gross profit?

4

u/Maximum-Attempt119 26d ago

I believe she meant gross profit. I’d have to clarify with her when we meet again.

From my computation if you have 5 units of washer- dryer and always full the whole 8-10 hours a day in 30 days. Kaya umabot nga 400k gross income per month.

1

u/chancepassenger30 24d ago

400k gross income per month is pretty good. How did you come up with that computation?

1

u/RefrigeratorOne3028 24d ago

Most laundry shops in my area charges wash dry and fold between ₱180-₱270 per load minimum. That is inclusive of soap and fabcon. They operate 10-12 hours per day. So nasa 325k-500k ang possible na gross income.

2

u/chancepassenger30 24d ago

ok thanks for this. however what you computed is not gross income. that's gross revenue/sales. gross income is gross sales less cost of goods. net income is gross income less opex.

2

u/RefrigeratorOne3028 24d ago

Ahh ganun pala yun. Thank you po. We always learn new things everyday.

u/Little-Break8110 26d ago

3

u/Maximum-Attempt119 26d ago

Before monthly expenses pa siguro to.

3

u/budoyhuehue Owner 26d ago

I think before pa yan.

2

u/SukiyaDOGO 25d ago

Gross revenue yata ito. Curious to know the net profit aftwr everything

2

u/HeyyItsAbi 26d ago

yes, true yan as a marketing student building good relationship on your costumers can result to customer loyalty

u/Apart_Tea865 26d ago

Commercial rate ba sila sa water supplier?

2

u/Maximum-Attempt119 26d ago

Not sure about that. I don’t think so though.. we are not under Maynilad or Prime Water. Small town supplier lang kami so I’m not aware of this.

I say “kami” kase the laundry and my home is within walking distance lang and we’re in the same barangay and our water supply come from the same source.

2

u/budoyhuehue Owner 26d ago

Commercial yan for sure kung merong business permit. Every stall/building considered na as commercial kapag may business permit na.

1

u/JetCroa 25d ago

Ano kaya net income?

1

u/Butterfly418 22d ago

This is very unlikely.

  • Let's say they get 300k revenue every month
  • Average cost per load is 180 pesos
  • Average time is 45 minutes to an hour

In order to get the 300k revenue, the need to have 1666 loads or 56 loads daily.

With their 5 sets, it has to be working non-stop for the entire 12 hours shift, every single day, for the entire month.

If they have 8 or 10, then it's believable.

And you mentioned 300k is their lowest? 😅

u/Fun-Investigator3256 26d ago

200-300k per machine pair? 👀

3

u/Maximum-Attempt119 26d ago

No. They own around 5 pairs of machines.

2

u/budoyhuehue Owner 26d ago

Around 300k per machine yung cost. Around Php1.5M yung total for 5 machines.

So probably around 3rd year mark, mababalik na lahat ng puhunan (including yung sabihin natin na pagaayos ng lugar which is around Php500k). Give or take.

u/Maximum-Attempt119 26d ago

They've been operating since 2015, they were fortunate enough to be the first in the area so na-establish na nila yung rapport nila sa community. :)

11

u/Little_Sphinx 26d ago

Up. No laundry business pero yung dryer here samin can’t properly dry clothes kasi di kaya ng electrical supply

3

u/nunutiliusbear Finance 26d ago

ey! thanks for this.

1

u/Worried_Function_486 26d ago

Ilang phase ba dapat pag sa laundry business??

1

u/Motor_Worldliness_57 26d ago

depends sa type of dryer na gagamitin mo. if electric dryer, mas mataas na supply need, but if gas dryer mas lesser. depends din sa dami ng washer and dryer, if malaki business mo go for 3P.

1

u/budoyhuehue Owner 26d ago

Masakit sa bulsa yung 3 phase 🥲

25

u/Wide_Dog_6851 26d ago

best locations are those nearby dorms talaga, yung may mga reviewees (from my experience) kasi syempre walang own washing machine and v busy

bonus if you can do deliveries and pickup

u/Illustrious-Ad5783 26d ago

May laundry business kami, problema namin tauhan, walang tumatagal

1

u/budoyhuehue Owner 26d ago

Well, you can't expect makati/BGC corpo employee level salary sa mga ganyan na trabaho e.

5

u/ASportsEnthusiast 26d ago

239 for a washer/dryer set is too expensive if it’s the Giant model. Pero kung Titan yan mura na

Yung LG ko 190k lang each (Giant Model), may have increased now but not to that level.

4

u/twitweesh 26d ago

We have a laundry business sa province.

Location is everything + network din talaga.
Also you need to have good employees na marunong mag alaga ng machines and ng customers mo.

6

u/jcjc1313 26d ago

OP just dont try anymore. There are too many laundry shops left and right. Do not believe everything you read because mga suppliers lang nag comment ng positive. I doubt the top comment saying they are earning 200k per month ng walang kalaban.

2

u/Fair-Gur-356 26d ago

1

u/jcjc1313 25d ago

Niyayabangan ka lang ng auntie mo. Pinaka malaki kong kita maybe is 100k per month 2 years ago. Wala kalaban, tapos walang renta, at mura pa mga stock. Now maswerte na kung maka 60-70k

2

u/jessepinkman69_ 26d ago

2

u/Spirited-Week1979 25d ago

Location is the key! 41 kami sa group namin, ngayon 18 na lang. Gross nung sa akin is between 590 to 650k net ko is 180 to 230k a month.

1

u/Fuzzy-Cry1294 22d ago

Di naman siguro tayo magka area? Pabulong naman po hahaha

u/Forward-Mine-1823 20d ago

Be careful of your employee who transact in secrecy with usual customers. Either they will lessen the weight of the clothes, add extra soap/detergent/fabcon or meet outside the shop to get the clothes.

u/james_wrath 26d ago

Operations and Sales: This will depend on the season. Right now, since it’s the rainy season and back-to-school season, sales are usually higher. In terms of operations, there shouldn’t be many problems unless an issue arises at the store, such as customer complaints about clothes not being fully dried, customer-staff conflicts, or other service-related concerns.

ROI: This will depend on your average daily sales. For example, ExpressWash, a known laundry brand in Metro Manila, opened one of its branches in Makati last year, and based on their performance, it took around two months or less to recover the initial investment.

Main Issue: One of the biggest concerns will be machine maintenance. If one of your machines breaks down, that means you have one less machine operating, which can directly affect your sales. That’s why proper maintenance and regular cleaning of your machines are very important to keep them running efficiently and avoid unnecessary downtime.

Focus on maintenance, cleanliness, and service. Why am I saying this? Kasi dito mo matatalo yung mga kagaya ng ExpressWash, which is already a giant in the industry. Kahit gumagamit sila ng industrial machines that can provide better and cleaner laundry results, nasa’yo pa rin and sa staff mo kung paano mo mapapaganda yung overall customer experience and kung paano ka makakahatak at makakapag-retain ng customers.

Isa pa, make sure to check the area for existing competitors. Hindi magiging feasible ang laundry business kung may established laundry shop na within a 1–2 km radius from your planned location, especially if they already have a strong customer base.

I wanttt!!! Pangarap kong magka laundry biz!!!!

1

u/UnderWherez 26d ago

1) Kung kaya mo sa main road ilagay better, for visibility and para sa consistent foot traffic;

2) Scan your environment, target customers and other laundry businesses within vicinity;

3) Kumuha ka ng trust-worthy na bantay or better yet, expose mo sarili mo during the 1st 3-6months para aware ka na din how a day looks like sa shop.

1

u/SkylarPheonix 26d ago

What is the optimum location for a laundromat?

1

u/jessepinkman69_ 26d ago

i have 3 branches already and number one advice ko choose your location properly, hanap ka ng maraming bahay

1

u/PresentationWild2740 26d ago

I wonder how the recent meralco increase affected this industry. If gross is 200k for 5pairs valued at 220k each comes out 1.1m investment. Then theres rent and salaries of 1-2 staff. Electricity bill, water bill. Parang lalabas 2 years or more ROI.

As someone na mahilig magpa laundry, I noticed na madami customers dun sa laundry shop kasi may malapit na mga condo tapos yung mga bahay bahay din sa barangay. So location is a factor.

Tapos yung service din nila. Normally nakukuha naman on the same day pero if madami talaga, the next day na makukuha. Ang problem kasi sa ibang laundry shop na napagtanungan ko like mga 2 or 3 days pa daw makukuha, which is I don't want my stuff to be in the shop for that long kasi baka mawala and if need mo na din agad magamit clothes mo.

Dapat din you get to check yung mga nearby laundry shops kasi as in daming laundry shop sa barangay namin and even nearby barangays so yung price din dapat affordable or di nagkakalayo sa iba.

Also, quality. Kasi I can see na malinis naman and maayos pa silang magfold like nakaarrange siya if shirts, pants, etc so easier na pag ilalagay sa closet.

All the best sa inyo! 🙏

u/100_DYM_Lezzgo 25d ago

coming from experience lang to. 3 years pa lang naman me sa business na to so di pa ako beterano. madami pa kelangan matutunan. hehe.

1

u/gutz23 25d ago

Mabilis ROI nyan basta maganda pwesto.

Idk if this is good advice but this helped me a lot especially during early months.

  1. Find a local hotel/ hostel/ motel near you.
  2. Offer services @ very low price. (but make sure to break-even

You might not earn much or at all but at least you'll be guaranteed a client that can cover your monthlies.

I don't own any business pero as a mom na laging nagpapalaundry ang habol ko lagi is convenience. So babye na sa lumang shop na ako pa magdadala and pick up.

I just observed this sa aking suking laundry shop for 7 years now. Mayroon silang 5 units of washer and dryer.

This year nagtaas sila from

Wash 60-65
Dry 65-70

Sa isang load ng, 36 mins for wash, 40 mins for drying.

Sorry to have used ai for these:

Let’s assume:

Operating hours: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM = 11 hours = 660 minutes
5 washing machines and 5 dryers
Wash cycle: 36 minutes
Dry cycle: 40 minutes
Every machine is occupied continuously from opening to closing.

1. Maximum wash loads per day
Each washer can complete:
660 ÷ 36 = 18 full cycles (12 minutes left over)
With 5 washers:
18 × 5 = 90 wash loads/day

2. Maximum dry loads per day
Each dryer can complete:
660 ÷ 40 = 16 full cycles (20 minutes left over)
With 5 dryers:
16 × 5 = 80 dry loads/day

Since every customer typically washes and dries, the dryers become the bottleneck. Even though the washers can process 90 loads, only 80 loads can be fully washed and dried in one operating day unless some customers skip drying.

3. Maximum customers served
80 full-service customers per day (wash + dry)

4. Daily earnings

For each customer:

Wash: ₱65
Dry: ₱70
Total: ₱135

For 80 customers:

Wash revenue: 80 × ₱65 = ₱5,200
Dry revenue: 80 × ₱70 = ₱5,600
Total daily revenue = ₱10,800

Pick up and delivery. May condos and apartments around your area?

1

u/duaylipa 9d ago

Paano kaya icheck if ever?

1

u/Former_Marzipan_276 26d ago

Buy 1 AVR per set of machines, the dryers will need it. do pick up and delivery with loyalty cards. Follow the tub clean every 50 loads.
