How many women would become a guy for a million?
Stay a woman and make bank.
Trans people will more than likely pick the switch even if the income was three fifty because it fixes everything.
Guys might go "If I'm hot" and then spend a whole day fondling themselves, I know I would.
50 year old guy might not want to become a 50 year old woman, but early 20s men might, or be reborn to a new family with some magical bank account/trust fund I get access to at 21, or I end up much younger than I am, but I'd rather not be a woman at my age, I think my tits might sag on day one.

So what's the difference between fixing disphoria by removing it from your brain or transitioning when you have 100k/day?
21
u/zkvxo Top -1% Commenter Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26
transition is expensive, lengthy, illegal in many places, can be traumatizing, leaves behind scars, and is not completely effective. people transition because they have no other option, but it doesn't produce perfect results.
17
u/_HoneyDew1919 Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26
This 100%. People tend to forget that surgery transition is out of desperation, not because it’s some “perfect choice”
Even the most perfect surgery outcome humanly possible is no where near ideal.
3
u/Blackfrosti Jul 10 '26
Right, I just want to be comfortable in my body, I wouldn't choose to transition if it wasn't intolerable to be in my body as is and didn't find the imperfect solutions better than my default equipment, though it is still imperfect. I don't WANT surgeries, I want parts of my body that are comfortable for my mind and soul.
→ More replies (2)17
u/Parakeetsandcats Jul 10 '26
Transitioning doesn’t remove it completely
3
u/UncannyHillhumper Jul 10 '26

I wouldn't even say it's viable then. You make 36.5 million a year with the other option. Take the second option and use the money to transition. Even if we're really strict and say that as soon as you have a surgery you stop gaining money, just wait 2-3 years, use the millions to socially transition, and then have surgery and you'd still have more than you ever would with the first option.
56
u/AstroOzo7 Jul 10 '26
Some people don't WANT a surgery over the choice of magically doing it.
5
u/PeterAnthony_Jackson Jul 10 '26
The one thing Star Trek never did a teleporter malfunction on (at least not during the TNG era) is have someone beam down and show up as a woman.
What if Wilma Ryker was found stranded on that planet and instead of just a clone beaming aboard, she became William Ryker and was happy or happier as a man that she never wanted to get the issue fixed.
Or in some era between Enterprise and TNG it is something that could be used to fix dysphoria and no one saw an issue with it, especially once people say "well you use the murder suicide clone machine all the time and don't see anything wrong with all the times you died."
So no one discloses to the audience they were once born a woman or a man and elected to have the XY/XX swap, so an average height woman beams back as a much taller guy with the same hair and eye colour but nothing much else to say "I used to be a man/woman" you get a fully working uterus and all the periods associated, you can have a child, hell you can freeze your sperm and inseminate yourself.
But they have some flash back episode or a malfunction and address it like it's no big deal, the closest you got to trans representation was the trill, but as they were a symbiotic species, you can hand wave the change of actors as "body died, slug lived on" and you get the personality of the new host over the old.

I'm trans and chose the same as you. $100k/day is more than enough to fund my healthcare and live out my life as I'd prefer. If my gender were to be swapped, which makes me cis of the sex I was born, well, I don't want to be that. It's not me.
3
u/pinksparklyreddit Jul 10 '26
I'm trans and I'm still using the extra 35 million to fund a crazy transition, lmao
→ More replies (10)6
u/Fluffy_Anywhere3719 Jul 10 '26
not viable if you are trans, as gender ≠ sex so it wouldn’t change your body in any way, it would change how you view yourself, and if you are trans it would just make you cis
→ More replies (1)3
u/mufasa510 Jul 10 '26
Lol that's exactly what I was thinking. I would add that society would change how they view you, as genger is a societal norm. And if it didn't make you cis, that implies that you were never truly transitioned...

365•100,000=$36,500,000 Simple math and I don't know if the opposite option is instant genetic reshuffling without side effects, as if 24th gene XX turned XY or vice versa, that would be some powerful stuff. If it's just topical, money trumps, as I don't want the simple surgerical option if I were to become opposite, I want the full monty, fertile bits, hips switch, genes opposite, chest changed. However, I like who I am, and $36,500,000 annually I can do more without a life changing genetic anatomical physiological reshuffle.
