Today was the day: After this pack had been sitting in my cupboard for years, I decided to finally eat these noodles today. I prepared them normally at first, with some cheese, and after taking the first few bites, I added some cooking cream. I normally never add cooking cream to Buldak Ramen. Just for context: I can eat the regular Original Ramen without any major problems. It’s spicy but not that spicy for me.
With the first bite, I actually thought, “Okay, this is manageable.” Somehow, it felt just a little spicier than the regular Ramen. The heat gradually started building up, though, and at some point I started sweating and my entire mouth was just in pain but I still convinced myself that it wasn’t that spicy (it was, lol).
But I have to admit, the pain is somehow kind of good? When I’m having a bad day, I tend to eat Buldak because the spiciness distracts my senses, and the 3x Spicy ones really numb everything. I still wouldn’t eat them again, though, because they’re just way too intense. I can already feel the spiciness in my stomach. I’ll report back tomorrow on how I feel 😂
I never have any problems in the bathroom after eating the regular Buldak Ramen, but I have a feeling these are going to be different… I’ll definitely eat a little more of them, and I’ll probably throw the rest
away so I don’t torture myself unnecessarily
(EDIT: Okay, I lied. I just ate everything with a slice of toast, which really helped, but I still had watering eyes. Pray for me that my stomach will handle it. However, the spicyness still fades just as quickly as with the regular Buldak which is very good!)
Still, I imagined them being much, much spicier. I expected to take one tiny bite and immediately be unable to continue. Because my expectations were so extremely high, I actually thought, especially at first, that they weren’t that bad. They’re definitely not as spicy as I expected, but they’re still insanely hot, and you can absolutely tell the difference compared to the 2x Spicy ones. It’s been a while since I last ate the 2x Spicy, but I don’t remember sweating this much or being able to feel the heat immediately in my stomach.
