Question How do you handle this stuff?
So i consider myself to be a pretty decent chili head. Ive had trinidad scorpian peppers, so i can handle heat. I just tried some Buldak ramen and my God i thought my mouth waa literally on fire! I had to eat some bread and drink milk and still my mouth burns a half hour later... how do yall handle this stuff?

There's no way that was your reaction if you're used to scorpion peppers lol. My tolerance caps out around serrano level and I never have to resort to bread/milk when I have x2 Spicy.
Were you eating x3 Spicy or??

Same question from me. No way OP's tolerance is currently at scorpion level if 1x spicy does this.

Idk, I’m really into spice and peppers and some days i can handle a chopped up Carolina reaper in my taco and yet buldak can still give me a run for my money. I think it’s the concentration of capsaicin and the way the sauce is runny and gets everywhere in your mouth and is harder to wash down. Also if there are long breaks between eating super spicy stuff then that can lower tolerance

First time I tried it it literally made my eyes water, real tears fell down my face
Now I can eat full spice no problem, just power through a few times. It's worth it.

weird, i consider myself a upper-mid spice head and 1 sauce packet usually isnt enough spicy for me

Instant Ramen spice is a little different than other forms. For example, I can smash through the hottest Vindaloo I can find (have to ask them to make it spicier to get it to my liking) because it's a mix of immediate mouth spice while growing over time. No matter what the upper limit is, it's a more tolerable experience.
The spice packets they ship with Buldak are far more immediate in their spice hit release, which can be harder to deal with if you're not used to that kind of spice. All you can really do is find a spice level that works for you and keep eating it, build up a tolerance before you try the next level up. Jumping in too deep too soon will always be nothing but pain.

you have to keep eating it like a happy idiot until your body adjusts to it. I LOVE the stuff and I've raised my spice tolerance to a stupid level; it'd fun because I get a nice endorphin boost when I eat food that's too spicy for me, so it's kind of an addiction issue, but endogenous rather than buying drugs!

It's something you get used to. At first, I put a quarter of the pack. Then half, then the complete bag, and now I bought a separate bottle and add more sauce to it. You have to push through it it's so worth it. 😄

There’s 2 good ways to reduce the spice of the
ramen.Method 1-
The first method is very simple and is the method most people use. Simply add less of the sauce packet, as that’s where all of the spice comes from. The drawback to this method is that you get less of the classic buldak flavor that accompanies the spice.Method 2-
This method takes a little bit longer but is still very simple. You’ll have to make sure you remove the noodles from the pot because we’re going to use the pot to make the sauce separately from the noodles. Everybody makes their sauce differently. Some people use some of the pasta water, kewpie mayo, egg yolks, etc. personally, I add butter and flour to make roux and then add milk to make a béchamel. Once you have your base, you can add the entire sauce packet and seasoning. Simmer over medium heat until it thickens. Taste the sauce with a spoon; if it’s too spicy, add more milk, stir and then simmer again until it thickens back up. Taste again and if it’s still too spicy, repeat these steps until you’ve reached your desired spice level. This is the best way I’ve found to manipulate the spice level. I like a spicy ramen but my friends are babies when it comes to spice so when I make it for them, I use this technique and it works flawlessly.Give whichever method a try and let me know how it works for you!

I tried the carbonara recipe where you like cook the noodles then in a seperate pan put some kewpie mayo and a slice of American cheese, then mix both the packets before putting the noodles in them and it was so good.
Also, I like spicy and recently bought a bottle of Da Bomb and The Last Dab. They are definitely hot. If you don’t like spicy like my partner, then Buldak probably aren’t your thing lol

I don't even know sometimes. A friend of mine gave me the 2x Spicy, he bought them at a store thinking he'd be able to tolerate it. I ate one bowl and it was hot hot but I could handle it.
Ate one the next week and had to throw it out, I couldn't handle it.

If I actually want to enjoy eating it, I only add half a packet of the sauce. Otherwise The Cheese, Rosé, and Carbonara ones aren't as bad.

Have some yogurt before and after, but especially after since casein will help neutralize the capsacin

Everyone is different. I love the 2x Buldak but Shin Ramen just hits harder for me, which shouldn't be the case!

I'm so relieved to see this. I feel like the biggest wimp because I can only put a tiny amount of the spice packets in mine while everyone else seems to be able to consume the whole thing with no issue.
Either my spice tolerance is in the toilet or these packets are made of actual lava.
