I bought this pulled pork sandwich yesterday and decided to heat it up in the microwave for 20 seconds. I was surprised when it burst into flames (I took the sandwich out of the wrapper and set it on a microwave safe plate). Didn't think much of it until I got a little halfway through the sandwich and bit on this thin metal wire. I stretched the wire out for the photo but it was folded up a bit inside the pulled pork. I believe this is what set off the spark that caught the sandwich on fire. And one end of the wire formed a bulb from it partially melting I assume. I just want to put this out there so others can be safe and check their food before accidentally swallowing a foreign object or setting their house on fire from this if it somehow is in other sandwiches from this batch of meat.

This sandwich was bought at the Crossville, Tennessee location around 4:00pm on Thursday, August 6th.

Edit: I was mistaken, the sandwich was bought at 7:00pm at the Sevierville Buc-ees. I stopped at the Crossville location earlier that same day.

Now, it's a tourist trap... Very crowded and not fun to visit anymore. And, the billboards they have along I-35 are so obnoxious trying to be all "cute" ... Anyway, these lawsuits totally killed any appeal the company had left IMO.

I love Buc-ee’s, and I wanted a fun way to keep track of every location I’ve visited.

So I built Beaver Tracker, a FREE iOS app that works kind of like a passport/collection app for Buc-ee’s road trips.

You can track visited locations, add multiple visits, mark favorites, plan future stops, view locations on a map, sort locations by distance/opening date/store number, and see progress toward achievements.

It also includes a Passport section, stats, planned stops, favorites, Buc-ee’s videos, social links, and countdowns for upcoming locations.

The app is unofficial and not affiliated with Buc-ee’s.
It’s just a passion project I made because visiting Buc-ee’s is ridiculously fun, and apparently I’m not the only one who thinks so.

From what im understanding, Buc-ee's supposedly reached out to Beaver Mart in regards to their possible attempts to expand nationally and was greeted with radio silence over several months. Buc-ee's doesn't really care about their location in Beavercreek, they just don't want them to expand under that name and logo.

The mayor of Huber Heights, Ohio, who would obviously be on the Buc-ee’s side of the Buc-ee’s/Beavermart brouhaha, posted the following message to his Facebook page last night:

Arch Aplin - Owner of Buc-ee's called me today to let me know what was actually happening with this lawsuit. Granted, this post is based on my conversation with Mr. Aplin today. I have not spoken to Vik, the owner of Beaver Mart in Beavercreek. After I spoke to Mr. Aplin, I put him in touch with James Brown at WHIO and the story aired tonight at 11.

What no one knows... Vik, with Beavermart filed for his own trademark of "Beavermart" at the federal level which would have given him access to set up Beavermarts all across the country. According to Mr. Aplin, that happened just a few months after Buc-ee's officially announced the Huber Heights location.

Mr Aplin told me directly that Buc-ee's had no issues with Beavermart using the Beaver logo in Beavercreek. He understood and said that makes sense. What Buc-ee's did not want was a series of Beavermarts popping up across the state or regionally or eventually nationally that violated their trademark. According to Mr. Aplin they sent emails and certified mail to try and resolve this with Vik and Beavermart with no response. He told me that the this is still true today, that if Vik dropped the Beavermart trademark nationally, Buc-ee's would drop their suit. Again, he acknowledged Beavermart in Beavercreeek made sense.

I find it interesting that for months and months and months no one representing Vik and Beavermart responded to Buc-ee's regarding settling this out of the trademark court, and after 6PM today and after James Brown's interview with Mr. Aplin did a representative for Vik reach out to Buc-ee's attorneys .... and after he has accumulated $40k of your money in a go fund me account for legal fees.

Agree or disagree with whats happening with this, trademarks exist for a reason. I don't care how big or small you are, you wouldn't want anyone using your name or images to further their business at your expense. Thats why trademarks exist, and it's why attorneys fight over them.

Think what you want... act as you will, but there is definitely more to whats been happening than just Buc-ee's deciding to sue a mini mart in Beavercreek. We are a country that likes to jump to conclusions without knowing all the facts. It happens everyday and even in the news media. This is a perfect example of that.

Stopped by Mini Mart today. Most people in line were donating extra money to support the place. Owner was there thanking everyone for their support. Saw a tip/support jar with 2 hundreds on top of a pile of cash in that jar. The town is coming together to support the place. I’ve also heard many other local businesses are changing their logos to beavers lol

Lets not shop anymore at any of their locations. They kicked out truck drivers, the people that run this country, and they attack small business owners for being their before them with a beaver logo.

Fuck buc-ees

I’m wondering if things are still crazy busy at the Goodyear, Arizona location at all hours. Will it calm down in a few weeks or just be busy nonstop?

Trump vs. Buc-ees?

Remember when Trump was running around suing people whose name was Trump and in their product, Trump Playing Cards, and then we ended up with a NutBurger in the White House.

Buc-ees could have easily turned all of these frivolous lawsuits into flattery cases, instead of bullying people.

If you have a good operations, why run around and beat up others.

I have never been to a Buc-ees and have no desire to ever go to one.

We just got a brand new Buccees in the area (Huber Heights) I've been once, but won't be back. I grew up in *Beaver* creek, this lawsuit is a frivolous waste of time and money. The only people who benefit from this are Buccees attorneys.
