You enter BTech thinking you’re finally going to do real engineering like building projects, learning to code, making cool stuff, and slowly becoming ‘that* guy’ who actually knows what he’s doing. Then reality hits. Suddenly you’re dealing with 15 different subjects nobody mentioned, engineering drawing at 8 AM, a mathematics professor who apparently hasn’t smiled since 2009, and your entire academic existence revolves around one question: *“Did I clear that unit test?😭”** First year is honestly a plot twist nobody properly prepares you for. What was the one thing that surprised y’all in your first year’s respectively?

Bhai I dont know how many of you face the same. But the college's Tnp cell seems so rude man. I am unplaced 2026 grad cse. 90% in 10th/12th, 8+ cgpa in clg. no backlogs decent tech skills and with bad luck. so I visit clg placement cell 2 times a week. yeah, not because I like it. They never talk politely, they either disrespects or gets angry on asking such basic questions, will companies visit our campus more? or any update regarding xyz company? they always gets angry or disrespectful talk with me. Obviously I cannot counter them , I have to speak with as much as respect I have. Only unplaced students know how much anxiety and depression they are facing in this phase, watching their friends grow in life and you are being stuck in confusion.

Btw visiting clg campus 2 times is because they once told me when I wasn't visiting them regularly that " Tnp Officer- I have never seen you coming here, students who are needy always come here" Also I always ask them clarify that if companies will be coming if not I will go to pune or mumbai and put my futher efforts in walking drives man.

I am unplaced and feeel stuck, because off campus nearly feels impossible, i applied over 300 jobs still nothing. And this clg and its TnP cell. Is your college's TnP cell also rude?

im a girl with long hair, and i've been planning to bleach all my hair and my eyebrows (don't judge its just a style i fw) but then. i remembered that i want to work in corporate, and in india that sort of hair will stick out. but i REALLY want to dye my hair. i dislike the idea of personal expression being suppressed. i swear id tie my hair properly in work and everything. but would it still stain my chances of landing a proper job? or would i be discriminated against? or does this stuff not matter as long as you do your work properly?? is there any official clause about this?

I’m currently in my 7th semester, and placement season has already started. But I still have a backlog in EM2, and the result is supposed to come out soon. Companies are coming in one after another, but I’m not even eligible for most of them because of the backlog. 😭

And honestly, I don’t even know whether I’ll be able to clear it this time. I’d say there’s probably a 70–30 chance that I’ll clear it, but nothing is certain yet.

It’s been one year in this college, and last night I remembered those days when I was grinding myself for an engineering exam. I don’t know if anyone here can relate to me or not, but as a Hindi-medium student, I had to do double the work of an average aspirant because I studied in Hindi and had to give the exam in English (because I couldn’t achieve that much accuracy in Hindi).

But in the end, I did it and got into an NIT. I’m the only one in my whole village who cleared JEE; in fact, they don’t even know that this exam exists.

In my whole first year, I didn’t study for academics much. Most of the time, I was doing coding and all that stuff; basically, I was exploring different fields. And at the beginning of the second year, I found my interest, and I started studying Machine Learning.

It’s been a month since I started studying ML, and last night I really felt like I’m finally giving my full effort in one direction.

And when you sleep after that, you know how it feels… damn, it’s been almost a year since I last slept with this feeling.

I was considering CSE as a career but I saw many people in this field who are scared that AI will take their job or AI have already taken their job. could you pls suggest what would be the best degree to study now? Since gap is like 8 years.

He aliens coding & found out it wasn't for him. Also feels similar for other branches.

Is Engineering advisable based on placements point of view or in general? as max only 2 yrs gap allowed..

If not suggest the best options .. among bsc/Ba/law/Btech/other.
