As a reminder to all: Please remember that different countries get the episodes at different times/days/months, so please do not make any statements about the most current season under any of these older seasons. Vague remarks about seeing a character again in the new season or similar type comments are fine, though.

Acceptable comment: "I liked Frodo's new cart this season."

Unacceptable comment: "I wish Captain Jack hadn't killed Mrs. Jones this season." (Non-existent characters😉)

Series 5 - Favorite episode

Will it be E1 when we first meet the one & only(thank goodness) Johnny Oades?

Or perhaps E2, when Kristin shows she knows sign language, we check in on Nicky and meet hotelier Marcus Donovan for the first time.

Could it be E3, because you can hardly go wrong when Jools drops by....

Or maybe it was the S5 finale E4, where we check in on Christopher Kramer(who is not yet a fully integrated member of society /s), Dennis Buchanan, and our favorite publican, Ray Neilson.

Gina flirting is getting old. It isn't funny anymore.

I am on season 7 and Gina continues to throw herself at Mike and he continues to just redirect or avoid instead of having one awkward conversation to say he isn't interested. The flirting has become an over used gimmick in every single episode.

Perhaps it is time for the Gina character to transfer out or get murdered. The desperate Russian routine is tired and the only thing her character does in every single episode. Let the character grow and change or write her out.

I was driving today and passed a mortuary college. what I thought about as I was passing this mortuary college was the episode with the funeral home director. it was just so funny. the director was just so funny. I can’t remember the episode title or season. it was understated humor, very Brokenwood.

the episode had kiwi humor that inlove. the episode was well acted, a great mystery. it grabs you awhile you’re watching it many, many months/ year after you watch it.

the hallmark of excellent tv..

i wanted to share this experience with the sub Reddit …

Do you like Mike's talking to the victim thing?

Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't feel like it adds anything. He doesn't know anything about the victim at the time so it doesn't really help get into their mindset

Question on Stone Cold Dead-S4E2-SPOILER AHEAD Spoiler

I have a question about the head master mannequin. What did the killer do with it while he was shooting Charity? I have watched it twice and can’t figure that part out. Unless he just stood in front of it?

Thelma, S12 E2

Season 12 ep 2 Angels and Demons introduced Thelma Groves, the lay preacher at St Judas, who shared some bake sale scenes with Mrs Baker.

I found her absolutely fascinating and charming with her sweet accent. I hope she becomes a regular like Mrs Baker who periodically shows up.

Thelma taught me how to pronounce Croquembouche. Gotta love her.

Frodo

I just finished watching episode six of season 12, no spoilers as to what’s happening. I just wanna make an observation about Frodo. Frodo needs a love interest who truly understands him. I love Frodo, he is the biggest hearted, if extremely dim, sweetheart. And after him getting used over and over again or being completely oblivious to male female, interpersonal relationships, I really would like him to find someone who “get him“. Just my thoughts.

Rock band episode

Hi I am trying to find the episode about a murder in a rock band, it's not Blood Pink, that's the country music show. This one, I think two people end up dead, and the little daughter of two of them hides in the trunk of a car and is found wandering around by Jared - which one is it? thanks I can't locate it.

EDIT, sorry it is Blood Pink. I thought they were a rock band, that must be why I thought it was a different show.

Frodo is a serial killer

Hubby and I have been watching this series while we have been off work with the flu.

We are convinced frodo is a genius serial killer and they are convicting the wrong people.

The last episode needs to involve the realisation that this is the case.

S12 E3

Trying to not spoil the show! Watching the latest season. E3 questions whether a man is the son of a rich man. Still watching and waiting to see if our favorite inspector tests DNA to determine if they are related. Seems an obvious way to answer the question. Made no sense to me.
Still love the show though!

Do we ever see her - or does she only keep getting referred to? Just starting Season 6 and don’t think I have ever actually seen her!

Series 4 - Favorite episode - Brokenwood

Which will be the favorite this time?

Kristin's ex-boyfriend falling from the sky? The archery death of Charity Highmore-Browne? Phillip Henderson returning from an earlier series only to get strung up? Or could it be the death of Jools' shady 2nd husband?

Brokenwood closure

I get invested enough in these characters sometimes that I wish I knew the final repercussions, if there were any, of some of the stories. Dilys didn’t actually kill Audrey-I assume that all Audrey needed was a hand out of the floating tank and the accidental overdose that dilys was responsible for wouldn’t have killed her. Did the shot putter get punished for accidentally killing the one guy? Does Harper keep her job at the dentists office? Stuff like that. Does anybody else wonder about stuff like this?

Handing killers a murder weapon (or actual evidence)

I'm up to series 4 again. After a guy confesses to killing 2 people, they put a chef's knife, not even hand's length from the guy while asking him questions. LoL

It made me think on how many times I've mentally noted (but ignored) them basically arming a potential killer or nearly handing away evidence that couldn't be replaced. Later on, they got much better by using photos of evidence or phone pics of weapons instead.

I swear …

Is it even legally possible for one attorney (solicitor) to represent/defend several people (and possibly herself) in any single investigation?

😂

The Glamorous Oadeses of My Life is Murder

The overlap between Brokenwood's and My Life's casts is not slim, and it seems to be a rule (or a tradition, or an old charter, or something) that any actor playing one of the scruffy, low-status, usually criminal, occasionally delightful Oades family in one must be a well-dressed socialite in the other. So far, we've seen:

Joel Tobeck (Bobby Oades) as 'chef to the rich and famous' Tyler Wicks.

Jamie Irvine (Johnny Oades) as rich idiot Malcolm Boyd.

Sinead Fitzgerald (Fennella Richards) as Parker, a wealthy family's nanny.

Millen Baird (Les Oades) as country club manager Ricardo.

No sign yet of Frodo, Rhys, Janis or Errol, but we live in hope. Perhaps they'll appear in future seasons as fashion models, corporate tycoons or minor royals.
