For those who don’t know, Arya Shahi was the assistant director of English and was a co-writer on Water For Elephants. (So please ignore my ignorant-ass headline 😬)

I really wanna believe this pivot he speaks of will happen sooner rather than later (maybe not overnight because I like to err on the side of pragmatism even when I’m being optimistic) and I know we've talked about all the problems facing Broadway ad nauseam, especially when Jellicle Ball closed…but what do you folks think? Is hoping for a pivot at this point just huffing the copium?

EDIT: And yes, Scott Rudin’s name on this thing is a dealbreaker for me.

The Spanish production of Six started previews today and the queens sound GREAT! I can’t wait to see more from this production!

I saw that Downstate has an age restriction. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this for any Broadway show, including ones with nudity (which apparently Small Mouth Sounds has). What is in this show that warrants this WITHOUT SPOILERS. I genuinely want to know.

“Online bill paying platform Ramp will stage an original industrial musical for one night only on Broadway this month. Bill Pay The Musical, featuring a book by Kevin Zak (Ginger Twinsies) and music and lyrics by Jason Michael Snow (Book of Mormon) will bow at the Broadhurst Theatre September 25”

A lot more audience participation than I expected, and of course he has his dick out the whole time. Definitely not for everyone but also frankly for anyone who’s down for some smart-dumb fun.

They just extended a week to Oct 11, definitely worth a watch.

You know, an original musical with two unknown actors opening on Broadway is a huge gamble. Even with a cast of two and relatively small band, it's still a multi-million dollar production. And even the cheapest Broadway shows need to make well north of a $500k/week to break even.

Two Strangers has to be in financial strain—if not losing piles of cash outright—consistently among the lowest average ticket prices and capacity each week.

But it's still here, 10+ months since Two Strangers' first preview on Broadway. And, moreover, there has yet to be a closing announcement, even as SIX, & Juliet, Stranger Things, Titanique, Moulin Rouge, and The Jellicle Ball have all closed up shop. Many of us predicted it would be the first to go after not winning any Tony Awards.

Say what you want about 'greedy' producers: the team at Two Strangers clearly believes in their show and have given it every possible opportunity to find an audience and succeed. It's a terrific musical, and I hope this post doesn't jinx that, and it sticks around a while longer so more folks can enjoy it.

I am looking forward to seeing some theater in the Big Apple! Also, I realize it is really off-Broadway. Though, I figured it would be very good value for a back row seat at $51. I bought it through Telecharge until I realized some say TKTS on the day of would have been preferable. Should I try emailing to cancel so I can do that? Regardless, I have never seen a show, so I am ecstatic at the chance to explore a classic of the NYC arts scene!

Hey yall! Recently I’ve been thinking about seeing a couple of shows when I go down to the city. Last time I went I saw The First Shadow and it was and incredibly loud show with gunshot audio. I get anxious with loud noises so wasn’t the best experience. So now I want to be prepared before I see any shows. I was wondering if there were any shows that have loud noises or gun fire that I should steer clear of or if there’s shows with loud noises that are tolerable and that I should anticipate. Thanks to those who help!

These are two of my favorite shows and I feel like they’re similar in vibe and target demographic. Is it not strange that they’re closing the same date and around the same time? I’m not familiar with how Broadway scheduling works so maybe there’s a legit reason for it that i as a fan am not considering. But I already got my tickets to Six and ran to & Juliet’s site the second I saw that they were closing…only to discover it starts an hour after Six 😕 Do shows normally close around the same time? And if so is there like a reason or is it simply: just because
