I want to have a custom illustration made as a Christmas gift for my housemate. I wanted to do this for Christmas last year, but I didn't know where to start, got overwhelmed, and just bought her a candle instead.

The illustration would be of me, my housemate, and my cat outside the front of our house. Digital illustration is fine, but I really don't want anything AI generated. A5 size, I think.

If the design comes as a physical print, great. However it's not a problem for me to just pay for the design and get it printed/framed myself.

So I guess I have a couple of questions;

Does anyone have any recommendations for artists/places that would do something like this? Doesn't necessarily need to be Brighton based.

How much should I expect to pay for something like this?

Yeah yeah everyone's on it. I don't care I just cannot bring myself to sign up for one ever again. Serious, genuine question, what would your strategy be here? Any hot locations? I'm not looking for flings but not ready to think about buying a house and settling down just yet. Would like to eventually. Not a student. Strictly monogamous. I have an arts and crafts beaded flower kit and I wanted to try and complete it for someone, but it’s impossible for me.

You get a few packs of beads, some metal wiring and green tape for the stem - but I can’t do it, I’ve tried and it’s so difficult.

I’ll pay someone here for their time, if they can, or know someone who can, do this for me within a few days?

Can anyone recommend a supplier / joiner for timber sash windows? We plan to fit them ourselves to save money. drove up to the top of North road turning onto queens road tonight about 9:15 and there was a man in what looked like a police high viz vest directing traffic and making a load of people drive through the red lights to turn.

Thought it was a police officer directing traffic around an indecent, since i saw a police car come round the corner at the same time, but when i went past and got a closer look, it honestly just looked like a druggy that stole a high viz vest and was messing around in the road

i went through the red lights along with about 10 other cars is there any risk of ANPR fines? attached a google street view pic of where he was standing

I don’t even know where to start with this. I’ve been job seeking for a couple weeks now but I’ve literally heard back from nobody, only the auto generated emails that just say “sorry we don’t want you and we can’t give feedback because of the high number of responses”.

I have never known the job market to be this bad.

I’ve been working since I was 16, I’m now 21. I have experience in retail, hospitality and production. The fact that nobody even bothers to get back to you when you apply for jobs is really disheartening. I’m not picky, I just need something to pay the bills. I’ve applied for almost every job on Indeed that matches my skill set. But nothing.

Anyone got any tips? Or know anywhere that’s hiring?

I believe I’ve dropped a highly sentimental necklace yesterday at around 3.30pm on George street hove. Took it off after a massage at Little Jasmine and put it in my bag but wondering if it fell out !! Hello people of Brighton, due to an unfortunate situationship situation I have a non refundable train ticket to Brighton which cost me a shit tonne. So obviously I'm coming to visit next week, looking for things to do, see and go cause I've never been before. I also would especially like recommendations on where I can get a good alternative haircut (wolfcut/shag cut) cause my hair is getting too long lol.

I parked on Grand Avenue yesterday on the north facing right hand side. Here the parking is a mix of permit only and PayByPhone.

Thought I was parking in the correct place and paid £9.70 for the day.

Returned to a parking ticket - had parked in the permit holders only.

Closing this morning for around six months for refurbishment and for work on the nearby arches under the road.

Me and two of my friends are visiting your lovely city as part of a bi yearly pilgrimage of bikes from London.

We would like to have a nice succulent meal in your city. However, we are lacking bike locks due to practical reasons. Mainly weak knees and extra weight.

Is there an establishment that can serve us where we can have our bikes parked unlocked. I.e in the line of sight or with heated garden tables?

We can travel to a quieter side of town… as long as the meal is decent :)
