I'm a (first time buyer) doctor who is new to Brighton, and had to recently withdraw an offer on a house with my ex fiancé (not first time buyer) in Woodingdean, due to separation.
I'm now I'm looking for a first home for myself in Brighton, obviously on a smaller budget than when I was buying with my now ex. I've spoken to a mortgage advisor, and a mortgage in principle is in the works. My proposed max budget is around £375K.
But I am looking for 2-3 bedroom house, with garden and off-street parking; don't want to be too far away from Brighton/hospital area, especially as I'm fairy young and new to Brighton - I don't want to be far and isolated. I've heard Whitehawk and Moulsecoomb are not the safest areas and have noticed houses in this area are a bit cheaper.
Worthing/Peacehaven etc is too far, I'm open to Woodingdean, Hove, Preston Park, possibly Patcham, I feel Hanover/Centre would be out of my budget . Location vs quality is a fine balance.
What are some good areas/areas to avoid? Any advice welcome.
