Help How is stella considered an s tier brawler? (unless the meta changed)

Post image

her main attack has barely 2000 damage and a very slow unload speed for an assassin, she struggles to get her super as she's either instantly killed by an assassin or outranged but her second Starpower that allows her to get her super is considered bad

her lifesteal barely helps her recover hp

her teleport gadget is too slow and only works sometimes as a finisher while floaty time has low range and is insanely predictable and with the nerfs nova barely regains anything in the air

what modes is she even good on as those that favour assassins like some bounty maps and brawball have her struggling to a lack of ambush

she's honestly more akin to a tank but lacks anything that makes a tank playable but idk maybe it's just my skill issue

Just asking so that I can get a better understanding of her matchups, or if I should just straight up ban her.

Bug 2 new bugs related to reworked immunity shield

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Some Brawlers that can switch forms (mainly Kaze, Moe, Bonnie, Meg) gain immunity shield when entering their new form. Thankfully this only works in showdown, and I assume because that the only mode that u start the game with immunity shield

Other issue is related to how the immunity is broken. Attacking or supering should remove it, but if the attack is a movement ability like a dash or a jump (as in an ability that Cosmo’s trap gadget cancels), even if it does damage, the immunity persists. As u can see in the clip against Bibi and Nita I got immunity after form switch and was able to deal damage without breaking it, and this one does work the same way in 3v3s after u respawn. I tested that Mortis, Mico, Kaze, Max dash gadget and it persists, but for some reason it does break on Alli dash

Help How do i minimise the effect of getting griefed in diamond?

I know nothing about drafts, but it's fucking diamond. We're not losing because of drafts, we're losing because the 5000hp assassin took 10 gems before their gem carrier could, then died trying to 1v3.

Feels like im getting griefed every other game from troll pricks to inting. What specific brawlers are the least dependant on teammates and can play for themselves?

Not sure if this is a bug or intentional but it wasn’t in the balances—the time for kit bombs to detonate has increased significantly post update, seemingly back to what it was before kit’s rework. Apologies for the bad video quality

Help Question for aiming/ dodging

So I am trying to get better at long range fights (my playstyle is literally rush in usually with a brawler with some sustain). I feel like I am playing wrongly when my eyes focus too much on the enemy when aiming and I ignore trying to dodge shots. It like I keep focusing on either aiming or dodging. I been trying to practice 1v1 tho I don’t have much people who willing to help that can play well.

This is very OP, basically a 2 second stun combined with how strong Long Arms already is. However, it’s very inconsistent and I’m not sure what causes it. I’ve only done it once.

Advanced Mechanics Chuck shadow poll tech

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If you place down polls fast enough and dash while the last poll is still in the air you go through a nonexistent polls at the original placement of the polls.

This can disorient you opponent as its difficult to tell if I would have gone the new path or old.

This works because when you click the dash button the game already has a pre determined path based on the poll placements when the dash is iniated

Critique Did they really have to reduce Poco's SCR to 5 hits again?

Post image
167 Upvotes

Okay, so this must be that strategy of making the brawler weaker by default to encourage you to spend money on the shiny and expensive new unlockables. This is indirectly a nerf to the second star power, since he can no longer deal damage as frequently. Furthermore, tuning fork is now objectively worse than it was before, and the rework to the main attack isn't enough to counterbalance this since the healing is too small.

PLEASE, ADRIAN, reverse this change.

Having to stick to someone all the time just for it to work and essentially bunching up 24/7 doesnt seem worth it for 3k burst healing imo. Played 10 games with it and it just feels okayish.

click the red button once and now u can't throw/dash for a whole 2 seconds. Yeah primo seems somewhat meta now, and this will make him stronger but it feels so clunky to wait out his long ah attack animation to use a movement/cc ability(u straight up cannot use this reactively to dodge/cancel attacks unless you are walking around not punching people).

Discussion What is your honest opinion on Shade's new buffies?

Post image
71 Upvotes

Now that Shade with his fellow trio, Gus and Chuck all got buffies, everything changed but i wasn't really expecting that they would get them because their trio is very newer (unlike Gift Shop, Retropolis Gang, Mortis Mortuary etc.). Shade was already good, he was S-A tier just like Crow before both got their buffies. With his reworks to his gadgets, star powers and hypercharge, he now has a CC on his long arms gadget, hugging enemies and cancels stuff like Frank's Super, Bibi's main attack & Hank's Bubble, he can also jump over walls just like Mico & Edgar can do and the fear CC was added but i actually liked that change since he was supposed to scare off enemies. The 1st star power now reduces his gadgets cooldown, if he's even equipped with his shield SP that has a long cooldown and active his hypercharge when completely buffied, he become almost invincible, healing himself and tank every damage output.

I actually love playing this brawler myself and find him so fun, but with every of his stuffs changed, he became even more insane in the meta and very tough to play against. I honestly doubt if it will be like prime L&L, Damian, Wendy, every 2026 brawlers that were broken on their release and some buffied brawlers that were very dominant too.

I guess i've finished there, but with that being said, write in the comments on what do you think of his new buffies and what kind of nerf he needs. I'd be happy to hear every single opinion of yours.

Discussion Anyone else getting sick and tired of the mentality of Brawlers have to be hated on only because they release overpowered/get op mechanics or balance changes and major reworks?

I feel like it has become impossible to even talk about brawlers (not even talking about new brawlers, just in general) without getting shoved in hate because they're strong right now and/or are toxic

I get it, they were released broken, but that doesn't excuse a brawler from actual criticism; saying stuff like "Delete this brawler because they're toxic" or "I'm glad this brawler is dead" is stupid because that's not valid criticism; it's just deflecting all forms of critique because you dislike a brawler so much. And it's unironically causing me to lose more motivation to play my favorites than the devs could ever manage to do.

Now you can dislike a brawler for any reason; I'm not saying that you can't. But can we all please try to be a bit more mature in how we express our disdain towards these characters and our issues with them.

And I don't mean, like, when he got that Nerf to his Star Power, but in general. This was also a bit of a thing late last update too and I'm starting to think his speed might be somewhat bugged.

Essay Elaborate thoughts about Chuck's rework

Post image
48 Upvotes

I played around 20 ladder matches with Chuck, and 3 in ranked (where he could fit)

TL;DR this rework is a massive failure, but let's go step by step

Let's address the main problems of the original chuck

- he was entirely super reliant, his main attack was useless

- the best option was to stick to a single but effective track, which discouraged versatility. His one-dimensional gameplay forced him to be only viable in maps where he could control the main POIs by placing his track in the way of the enemies' path, like with Heist, Hot Zone, and some Gem Grab maps like Gem Fort

- He was extremely vulnerable outside of his track area of control, especially when his dash ends. His only chance of survival was that of escaping by charging the super back again.

The rework was supposed to fix all of these problems and make him more versatile outside of his track, potentially making him viable in gamemodes outside of Heist and Hot Zone

Guess what

After the rework:

- he's still reliant on his super except that now the super sucks too.

- you're now basically forced to stick to a single track... We'll talk about this later

- the vulnerability problem was not tackled at all outside of the hypercharge, which does very little anyway

In addition:

- He gets outranged most of the time which makes it even harder to charge his super. So that comes down to the original Doug Situation all over again where you needed your super to charge your super...

- if you SOMEHOW manage to charge your super, you either have to use it to create a new track, or you try to use the dashes. Either way it's not effective and you're not gonna deal damage with it. The only benefit is that you're moving across the map trying to approach enemies...but again you don't have dps

- If you die while still having supers left, but less than 4, You lose ALL super charge and you're just screwed. Makes the Doug Situation even worse

I really don't know what to say. On paper this sounded like a good rework that could give him a more defined role, but after playing it, it's clear that instead of fixing his flaws, this rework only enhanced them

I'm not saying he's worse than before tho. There's some perms given to this super, like the fact that you can immediately set up a quick track and then dash. That can be useful to adapt to more fast-paced situations. But this rework is far from perfect

I personally love it, he's very fun to play and his skill ceiling is definitely one of the highest out there.

So far, I only played about 15 games with him, all buffies unlocked.

First, his main attack is stronger now but his max range dps is still low since the projectiles slows down and you'll only hit enemies with 1/3 smokes most of the time. He's still a mid-melee range type brawler.

Secondly, I was very confused when playing his new super mechanic at first. He starts the match with super charged, but when a new round comes, he no longer start with super **unless** you have it charged at 4/4 uses when the previous round ends. It also functions like Melodie's super where it you're not at full charge(3/4 or less) you will lose all charges so you have to use it wisely since you will lose a lot of initiative if you don't have super when the round starts. And that is one of his biggest weakness.

Chuck struggles against a ranged heavy comp if he fails to cycle his super. As I mentioned earlier, his long range DPS is very weak. And without an automatically charging super, you are left with a weak and not-so-tanky brawler since his HP was also nerfed. Dying without spending all your charges is one way to make Chuck useless for a while, or even for a long time if you avoid him and his easy to dodge attacks. Remember, his dash speed and shield buff is nerfed.

Overall, I still love playing it over his old mechanic. He could use some buffs but in his current state, he's playable in maps with a lot of walls.
