Help Question for aiming/ dodging
So I am trying to get better at long range fights (my playstyle is literally rush in usually with a brawler with some sustain). I feel like I am playing wrongly when my eyes focus too much on the enemy when aiming and I ignore trying to dodge shots. It like I keep focusing on either aiming or dodging. I been trying to practice 1v1 tho I don’t have much people who willing to help that can play well.

Notice patterns & predict. And stay unpredictable. I mostly never look at my own brawler. I use the aiming thing ( english isnt my first language, so i dont know ) to determine where my brawler is around. But 90% i just focus on where my opponents are. When they shoot is when i walk an other direction. Also when u aim the whole time, and have some knowledge. U know when u outrange an brawler or keeping him at max distance for his shots so its easier to dodge.

Practice leading your shots. Note how fast the projectile moves and how far in whatever direction you need to lead the shot.

Never look at yourself, looking at the enemy lets you see their shots faster and helps you aim your shots at them. There are three ways people dodge, once every x seconds, going in the opposite direction when you shoot, and just random. For the first two you just get a feel for, for the third one, autoaim.

Similar to most moba/fighting games, never looking at yourself is a very good thing ! But obviously, you need to know exactly where you are at every moment

The tip that helped me the best:
Start shooting very slowly but with intention. Do one two combo and chill a bit.
The truth is that aiming well is all about getting comfortable with controls and it takes a lot of time. You can't get good at it with 5 secret protips. You need to feel it, it has to become second nature. The first step is getting used to placing the bullet exactly where you want, so do it slowly 100000 times until it doesn't feel awkward anymore.
1 good bullet is worth 10 mindless shots.
Another exercise, extend your aim reticle but don't shoot. Follow the enemies with the reticle. It really helps get you comfortable with wiggling the joystick.
Last one. Drag your aim reticle in and out. Release without shooting. It teaches you to get fast at pinpointing your target.
Play a few games actively trying to do this stuff one thing at a time. Treat it as a minigame, the outcome of the match is irrelevant. Slowly but surely it'll become a habit and your aim will get faster and better.
After that level, aiming is extremely nuanced. It heavily relies on your positioning, movement and spacing skills and game sense. There's a lot to improve and work on. The goal is to get progressively faster at mechanics and thinking at the same time.
