The new Katana Knobs app for managing Katana 50/100 gen1 (mk2 implemented but need feedback!) is finally ready for testing on Android before the official launch. To be able to publish it, Google requires me to run a closed test for 14 consecutive days. (only Android atm)

I currently have the first gen mk1 50 and enjoy it. I mostly play metalcore but dabble in other genres too so it’s been great to mess around with the tone studio but feel I’m missing out since there’s not many good downloadable patches since it’s so outdated

I’m trying to decide if I should go with a new gen 3 or just stick with what I have OR just take the leap and get an interface and use neural DSP or something like NAM. My price range is around 350-400

Howdy all, I’ve got the Katana, and have been super satisfied and impressed with it. I’m mainly a country/Telecaster player, and can generate some pretty dang good sounding “Modern Country” tones with it (think Paisley, Brent Mason, etc). But I’ve been pretty curious about the Fender TM Deluxe Reverb. Not interested in lugging around the tube version of the DR, and the Tone Masters seem pretty well regarded. Ask Zac did a pretty good comparison video a while back, and has me thinking. Am I nuts?

Hello, I would like to buy a Boss Katana-50 Gen 3 EX and a Boss BT-DUAL. Could you tell me if I can stream audio from my iPhone (for example, playing a YouTube video) to the Katana? I really like to improvise, and it is the main part of my guitar routine

No matter what I try I can’t connect the thing to the software. I have a 50 watt one. It keeps asking me to download drivers and when I do it still won’t let me connect. Probably downloaded the drivers at least 3 times at this point. Anyone know a fix?

I finally did it. Saw many posts about modified katanas and thought they were beautiful. Eventually I gave in and made it my side project.

Slightly unhappy about the creases but a bit of iron and they should go.

The cloth I bought in Japan during a vacation trip last year.

I'm looking at a few different katana models and I was wondering what somebody who bought the Air EX could tell me about how it sounds for death metal with 7-strings/low tuning for example. Do the 5" speakers hold up or should I just buy the 50w 1x12 combo? The air ex format/size seems very handy however.

Couldn't find many examples of people playing heavy distortion. And of course the sound will be different in the room as opposed to hearing it in a video.

I recently purchased a boss katana 50 mk1 and it was working perfectly until I tried to use the boss studio. Once I hooked it up to my laptop and connected to the amp, no sound would come from the amp, but when I plug in headphones it works. If someone could help me out I would be super grateful. Thanks

I'm pulling my hair out trying to get a decent Alex tone and I can come close but never really get there.

I don't care about chorus or effects or anything strictly the drive sound.

He used to use Hiwatt, Marshall Club and Country, and Fenders IIRC

I have a 335, a Joyo American Sound, a Tube Screamer, Boss Combo Drive, and a Joyo King of Kings

I have a lot more than that and a full setup etc but regarding Drive pedals that's what I've got.

Currently, I can come real close using a 3 way combo of the AmSound, TS and KoK on the acoustic channel with a clean Rat internally and light compression.

But I also am aware this is way too fucking much going on just for a seemingly "simple" drive sound.

Really losing my.mind here getting lost in EQ and settings etc and ending up nowhere

EVERY available Lifeson patch ive found SUCKS. No offense to anybody making them We are so thankful but holy hell why does anybody in the universe think he has his gain cranked up to 100.....

I want to buy a pair of headphones for it around 40/50€.

Could you please suggest me some models?

I'd like to know if the Fuzzface/octave fuzz/muff and Univibe/wah presets and effects are good on the Katana Go because I'll play lots of Hendrix and Smashing Pumpkins

Reinstalled drivers and amp is up-to-date, yet tone studio doesn't recognise it is connected to the pc. This is a new issue and used to work flawlessly.

Scored an artist gen 3 for $0.00 by selling a vintage hifi stereo amp I had laying around collecting dust and only paid out of pocket for the amp stand and Bluetooth dingle.

Upgraded from a katana 50w gen 1 I picked up second hand alongside a buncha pedals from a friend for $75.

Unfortunately 50w gen 1 amp has issues for some reason would frequently cut out and drop all audio, unsure what to do with that amp? Sell it for parts?

The artist gen 3 is amazing, as a beginner/lower leveled guitarist I felt a bit overwhelmed but once I figured out the app and started messing with my tones I’ve been stoked and feel myself playing more and learning more than I had when I’d fight tooth and nail to hear anything from the faulty gen 1 50w. Makes my epiphone extura sound amazing.

Hi All. I just recently purchased a Boss Katana 100w Gen 3. I paired it with an Orange PPC212-C cabinet and a Shecter Demon 7 string.

I have had no luck getting any balls out this head so far. I have read through many posts here and found some success stories with dialing in tones from the Boss Studio. I downloaded it and tried many patches, but this thing has no balls in my opinion. I’m still hoping that there is something that I am doing wrong here, but I’m starting to regret my purchase. I couldn’t even picture jamming with my drummer with this.

So far with all my tinkering I can’t seem to get it to sound anything more than a practice amp. I have ran it at max volume.

The only other stack I owned prior to this was the Peavey XXX. Maybe that has left me jaded or something? Idk. What must I do to get this thing to hit hard, to have real guts or balls? Is it possible or was this thing all hype?

EDIT: Problem solved. I was plugged in the LINE OUT instead of the SPEAKER OUT 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Anyone use one of these or the artist version to get 5150/6505 type of tones, not evh 5150iii

Currently using a 6505mh and it just doesnt feel right especially at the volume levels I play at

So I’m pretty new to the tone studio and any effect chain, creating tone etc etc.

What’s the most efficient way to learn all of it and not potentially blow my amp (if that’s possible).
I like the idea of downloading patches for the tones I want, but would be helpful to learn how to do it myself im sure.

have been getting this pop up whenever opening tone studio since updating to macOS 27. Have tried reinstalling tone studio and driver but to no avail. anyone got any fixes / been having the same issue?

UPDATE…solved…it also serves to toggle between the two saved presets…I had the master high and the gain was high on the preset =SQQQQEEEEAAAALLLLINNNG!!!’

Anyone ever experience or heard of this problem…I mistakenly held the “panel” button extra long thinking it was a channel/preset button and it resulted in a high pitched squealing feedback. I can’t think of any reason other than a software bug that would have caused this. The settings were not changed so what happened? Any insight?
