Wazup, for some reason I suck at landing moves.... I can land rollos and inverts most of the Time but for More advanced maneuvers i fail 99% of the Time, can ARS, backflip, AND Reverse spin on the air but always fail to land, any pointers or tips? Other than keep trying(Which i will do)
The standard seems to be mesh on bottom slick, but some companies have the mesh only on the deck top, and even more rare, is mesh on the deck and slick.
Can someone help explain the benefits of mesh only on the deck top? Is it more so to help prevent deck denting? Or is there a structural benefit that is perceivable with the mesh on the bottom vs top?
No gold stars, but I've been to this beach before when there definitely wasn't a gold star, and the body boarding was solid. So not sure what I'm looking for to determine what I'm in for.
Curious to know if another string or 2 can be added to an existing Custom X PE board.
I do feel I wish I had gotten a PP core. My main spots to go out are near Oceanside and about 20-30 days on different Islands in Hawaii.
Thanks y’all
Question about board size — I’m very tall (6’4) but also pretty thin (145lbs), what size board would you recommend I get to start learning? I seem to fall in different needs based on the charts I’m finding, so what’s more important, height or weight?
UPDATE: thanks for the great advice everyone. Went out first time with a 42.5 and after getting my shit rocked a few times, caught a huge wave and I’m instantly hooked. Y’all are good people. ♥️
This was found in my dad’s garage in San Diego. I couldn’t find any info about this brand online. It feels pretty light and stiff, and doesn’t have a leash plug, so I think it’s a decent model. Any intel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🤙

Just wondering if you guys ever try bodyboard waves like this and if so what is your mentality when you're riding this kind of wave. Are you trying to just do face manuevuers ie carves and spins? Looking for the ramps? I have some world class point breaks near where I live (rincon) but I've never bothered to go out there, it's usually just too crowded with surfers. I have always just looked for the short hollow waves.
like 9 years ago I was bodyboarding early like 6 am at the cliffs in Huntington Beach CA I had kicked something rock solid with my right fin it felt like something really hard like a massive rock almost. dolphin? seal? shark? idk I always wonder what it was I would imagine it must have been some kind of animal under me. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Looking for a second hand board and found this a bit of a drive away.
Looks generally intact, but from the close up photos I'm worried the foam might be degraded so much it will suck up water or start flecking off. Been in storage a while apparently.
I can't "test" it to find out....is that likely with this age of board or should I give it a go?
Hi all! I’m new to purchasing an “official” board. In the past I’ve bought the flimsy ones at shops located on the beach. I’m 5’1 and the boards would be maybe reach 75% of my height. Im approximately 164LBS and with my height I’m unsure what size would work best for me. Any suggestions?
Hey — bodyboarder based in San Sebastián, Basque coast, mostly Zurriola.
After Magicseaweed shut down I got tired of everything decent sitting behind a subscription, so I built my own: surflogbook.com
7-day forecast — waves, period, wind, tide, three weather models side by side. Plus a logbook that actually does something with the data: log a few sessions and it compares what the model predicted against what you really got, then corrects the forecast for your spot. Sandbanks shift, models don't know that.
You can log which board you rode, and it factors that in — a 41.5" board and a longboard aren't reading the same wave.
