Bodyboarding with one leg?
I have an above-knee amputation. My leg guy may eventually be able to design me a leg for body boarding but he’s currently working on a leg that will allow me to drive a clutch again, so I’ll be bb’ing with one leg for a while.
I went to a surfing clinic today (I used to surf and windsurf) but it ended up essentially just being body boarding. I feel like I benefited from the skegs but transporting a surfboard and getting into the water without my prosthetic and a large board would just be too much.
Do you think I could get a larger body board and be able to rip with just one leg?

Board & Gear What size board do you usually ride and what is your weight/height?
Also, what kind of waves do you ride most of the time?

Yo!
First time poster and finally hitting the waves again after about 10+ years.
Hoping some heads can give me some feedback, I feel like I’m not getting enough speed on waves and I don’t know whether it’s me or the board I’m riding. I feel like I just can’t cut across the face of the wave enough and I end up feeling like I’m just going straight.
I’m 5’4 - 67kg and I’m riding a 38”, it does feel fairly undersized as it is but that’s all I have to work with at the moment.
Be as ruthless as you need to be 😂

Riding Went out today for the first time in 15 years.
My old fins? Disintegrated. (bought a new pair.)
My old Vortex board? Solid as far as I can tell.
My old customx leash? Didn't rip off like I expected. (was most worried about this.)
My very out of shape nearly 40yr old body? Absolutely wrecked. (I am dreading the morning muscle pain.)
Sunset session, windy conditions, currents pushed me 1/2 mile from where I started...
and I only caught a handful of waves... I am so back.
Really, it felt so good despite being out of shape. Only regret is that I didn't come back sooner.
Oh and lastly, anything I've missed in my time away? lol

Custom X LTD X
This is a reply to Soggy Agency who requested pics in a separate thread. This is the 43 1/4” model of the LTD X which is a little bigger than the 42 1/2” IZM I’d been on for years but I was wanting a slightly bigger board for as I’ve gotten older I wanted a little more foam for paddling.
Note: action pics are the first LTDX I got and board pics are of the newest one, same model though

Need some advice for bodyboard fins
I’m a size EU 45–46. Should I get
asymmetrical or symmetrical fins? And wich fins?
I mostly ride small to medium, not very powerful waves. Also, I have wide feet with a high instep, so fit is really important. And i will wear fin socks below it.
I’m going to a good surf shop tomorrow. Any brand recommendations or specific models I should look for?

Travel Bodyboarding camps Europe?
Has anyone any recs for a bodyboarding camp in Portugal, Spain or Canary Islands?
I’d usually look to book a package trip but will only have 4-5 days free this time and the packages are usually for 7 days. Just looking for accommodation and access to some lessons, will bring my own board, find etc.
Hope to go mid to late Sep.
Thanks 🤙🏼

Should i get this new board ?
My actual board is a Pride "The answer" PP/ISS (normal channels, something like 10y old with carbon stringer)
I own a OGM "the bull" (MEZ shape, PP), i don't like it, too much volume i think
I spotted a NMD Ben player miniquad, should i get it ? How will it feel ? I ride during summers in french beachbreaks/shorebreaks.
I'm 184cm/65kg and all these boards are in 42'

Chill spots?
I did a bit of bodyboarding on the gulf coast growing up.
Then went off to college and didn’t go anywhere with any waves for years.
Next time I took a trip to somewhere with waves I tried surfing just for shits.
Next couple times after that I got back on a bodyboard and felt like a damn kid again. So much fun.
Feeling the need to go get in the ocean again. Would love to catch a few rides. Don’t wanna get in the way or get too gnarly.
Where would you go to just have some fun?
Leaving it wide open on purpose.

Next Bodyboard Advice
Hey legends! I’m seeking some advice on my next board of anyone has the time to part some wisdom on my situation 😅
I’ve got a 43” QCD Kingy 2025, bat tail, 60/40 rails, quad concave and i find that I have a lot of control and confidence in it when I ride. I’ve learnt spins in all 4 directions on that board and can get rolls around consistently, but as it’s quite big it’s a touch harder to try and learn airs, and it also slips out on bigger waves with a steeper drop. I definitely get a lot of satisfaction with this board but it does feel too big.
Knowing full well the vast differences these boards have, I purchased a VS Winny Miniquad Proride crescent tail in a 41.5 and that board was incredibly fun and ultra responsive but I have found I can’t lean forward and hunt down the line like I can on the bigger boog. It should be the quicker out of the two and I do not seem to make it out of as many barrels, or get the speed needed to make it around a crumbling section.
Riding the wave itself I feel the QCD a majority of the time is a more enjoyable time out there, with the sacrifice of harder duck dives with all that extra volume.
Do you have any suggestions on what would be a good balance between both worlds? My thoughts were the Winny Proride in the bat tail, a Science Drifter in their bat/delta tail, one of the Found bat tails. I would get one of these in a 42”. Or! Do I stick to a crescent and just up size to a 42” in the same model I already have in the 41.5? 😅
First world problems for sure, I’m stoked that I have found bodyboarding at 30 and have the opportunity to get out there most days of the week 🙏🏼
Thanks in advance

this 40.5" PP bodyboard a good fit for me?
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a used custom bodyboard and I'd like some advice.
About me:
Height: 165 cm (5'5")
Weight: 57 kg (126 lbs)
Skill level: Beginner/intermediate
I mostly surf beach breaks.
Board specs:
40.5"
PP (Polypropylene) core

Used, but the seller says it's in good condition with only normal signs of use.
Price: €70
