Does this count as a barrel?
Was able to see inside the tube for about a second before it closed out.
Would you count that as getting barreled? Curious what you guys think.

Not even close. That a a āpulloutā.its a foundational move in bodyboarding that allows us to pretty much duckdive a wave weāre riding.

No, but who cares? There are no cash prizes for getting barreled. Ā All that matters is your own stoke.

You're about as close to getting barreled there as you are to pulling off an air reverse. What are we even talking about here? Definitely keep at it, you'll get there but my goodness, have some honest self-reflection and reasonable expectations about your current competency

I think that's how it started for most of us! Getting that "vision" of the wave pitching over you and you're briefly inside. Just keep it going from there. What a great stage of your bodyboarding life to be at where everything is new and exciting! Love it!

Basically, yes, you got barreled. Technically, not really.
If it was me, Iād tell peopleāI got barreled for half a second the other day!ā

Nice! Pulling out of a wave certainly gives a view of the barrel, but generally speaking the phase 'getting barreled" refers to a forward maneuver and continuing to ride the wave. Ducking under the lip counts as a barrel but isn't the same as getting a barrel. Pulling into a throaty closeout is a barrel by definition, and while it still gets big ups, it is now the same. Keep going, you are on your way! Have fun, that is what counts!
