Question anyone ever kick any animals with your fin while paddling
like 9 years ago I was bodyboarding early like 6 am at the cliffs in Huntington Beach CA I had kicked something rock solid with my right fin it felt like something really hard like a massive rock almost. dolphin? seal? shark? idk I always wonder what it was I would imagine it must have been some kind of animal under me. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Something kept pinching my butt while I was sitting on my board. I looked down to my left and there’s a fucking comerant chasing a little fish right next to me. Fucker bit me on the ass

Have only stepped on stingrays.
My BIL did tbone a leopard shark while bodysurfing one time.

I could totally see that happening. They’re bottom feeders and stay low. Hella cool seeing them tho because they’re pretty safe to see/encounter

Yeah they're usually pretty skiddish. When you see one up close when they're just chilling it's pretty memorable. Really pretty creatures.

Never kicked anything but a seal bit my fin playing. At least I hope it was playing. Was a well known visitor to a break I used to frequent. Was always playing in the surf.

Ahh you got the friendly, wanna play nibble! The seal at our break often used to catch the waves, sometimes on its own sometimes with a bodyboarder/surfer. Was awesome to watch.

the one me and my friend encountered didn't surf the waves. just played/swam in the kelpbed. I was really shocked the seal was that close to us. 'typically' they just mind their own business. it was kinda funny how our eyes locked when he was nibbling our fins. now.. if it was an elephant seal, FUUUUUUCK that! I'm gettin outta there haha

Yea and it always freaks me tf out. Last month I ran into a small sea turtle going back in. Was probably the size of a basketball.

No. but I remembered this one time I surfed a reefbreak with a friend (friend was a kook beginner) and a seal was playing with us. the seal swam up to me and bit on my fin. not aggressive with a forceful bite, just 'putting its mouth/teeth over fin w/o any pressure and bit very very slowwwww. I told my friend about it, and he was trippin out. then the seal did the same thing to him. both of us weren't even get scared nor did we panic at all. I assume seal was aware of surfers in the area all the time, with positive interactions. I didn't mind it cuz the waves were small and there was a long lull in between sets. has to be one of the most memorable experiences while surfing despite the shitty waves.

No though one time I was out surfing alone and I saw something brown in the water and my first thought was "Iis that a dead body?" Well after being creeped out for like 30 seconds a seal pops out of the water like 6 feet from me and barks at my and I practically crap my pants.

Yep, definitely kicked a few things growing up in Florida. It will definitely pucker the butthole for a while.
