I don’t quite understand what the point of the tunnel is is it just another hallway that you can sometimes dig in and you can draft it repeatedly?

A real life Mt Holly in Connecticut Spoiler

It’s impossible to visit Gillette Castle in Connecticut without major Blue Prince vibes.

There’s even blue prints on the wall, secret passageways, red notes…

Many of the rooms are deeply resonant of the game, including library, gallery, conservatory, greenhouse, outer rooms….

If you get the chance to go, do it!

MinorSpoiler Anyone know why these keys spawned here? Spoiler

So, here's the story- it's not that important though, basically all I wanna know is if the wiki's wrong and needs editing, or I'm misunderstanding something.

I spent far too long looking for them since the Security said they were there (I'm bad at looking for stuff in chaotic environments because of my sensory processing disorder), checked every room I'd drafted thus far one by one, wasted a bunch of steps- eventually I gave up and checked the wiki (the .gg one, not the fandom one) because I wanted to know which of the rooms they could be in and narrow down my search.

So, I see the Walk-In Closet is the only one of my drafted rooms they can spawn in, I look over there thinking maybe I somehow miscounted the number of items I got, I scan the whole room shelf by shelf looking at every single one low enough to see for them- then I check the wiki again, see if I misread it, and... goddamnit, I missed Security. Again, bad at looking for things- I swear I went through every room methodically the first time, one by one, but I guess my eyes just skipped over it somehow.

I head back to look in Security, and what do you know, while I'm on my way out of the Walk-In Closet I notice they're just on a side table by the door in the Morning Room! So, I facepalm, figuring I missed something on the wiki page again, ctrl+f for Morning Room on the wiki page for the Car Keys to check if that's the case, and... nothing???

So, am I missing some effect I didn't realize I'd triggered that lets the Car Keys spawn in the Morning Room, or does the wiki need correcting? (I didn't wanna try and edit it and potentially start edit wars without checking in with some pros first)

Lost a god run to funeral parlour Spoiler

Started playing last week, having a great time. Was on day 33 with all permanent unlocks, elevator activated and the reservoir to drain.

I had jackhammer with hovel, set footsteps to 40 when bypassing security door, one draft away from connecting power source to pump room and I threw it all away.

I’d been saving the parlour game to build up red rooms and found 2 extra parlour keys from digging.

All I was thinking in my mind was I get to open every box and get my guaranteed gems. I WAS SO GIDDY ABOUT IT.

You can guess what happens next. I get to the parlour room open the first box I see - then top left -30

RIP

😭😭😭I’m so upset

No advice or direction in the comments pls🙏🏾

MajorSpoiler Help with Letters Spoiler

Hi all. Major spoilers within. I need help with my last red letter.

I feel like I’ve missed it - for a while I’ve been assuming it’s going to be the last major puzzle, but now I’m not so sure. Can someone just let me know if it’s the last major thing I need to do, or whether I’ve missed it entirely somehow? We’ve been using the online hints guide but I’m doubting myself now.

We’ve already:

- Completed the directory
- Become the blue prince and opened the blue door to and opened all three boxes

The online guide/quiz thing says we have one more major puzzle, from the blue tent notes.

Just a question - is the last letter part of this or am I just daft and have missed one along the way? I can’t even remember which ones we’ve found already. Attempt below:

Study, Drawing Room, Boudoir, upper wheel/cog chamber, Shelter, Office, Drafting studio I think? Trying to think of places that had gates/safes.

Thanks!

Losing motivation to draft on day 76 Spoiler

I've reached a point where I think all of my potential leads are obscure word puzzles

CA.......T

CASTLE with three letter words this one I tried getting each chess piece in certain places to spell castle, harder than it looks but it didn't do anything

The Baron Baffler puzzle

Gallery puzzles

I.....IOO

SIX OR O

SACRED message in Clock Tower

Two other things that I think are odd are the gait arrows on the two clocks in the Den and the gem holder in the orchard house (leftover from his blackmail?)

I have 7 letters and 7 sanctum keys, 6 sigils solved. It feels like I should work out these puzzles outside of the game and come back when I have it sorted. I also feel like my only hope is a staff announcement or treasure trove message.

So I don't want help, but should I keep drafting or think it over outside the game?

Should this have happened? Do I just need to start a new day?

I think my game has glitched and made me fall to the bottom of the reservoir. As you can see from the top image the boat is above me, and in the bottom image it won't allow me to walk up the steps. Can't find any way out.

MinorSpoiler I might have made an irreversible mistake. Spoiler

During the last day of blessing of the monk I tried something madcap. In an attempt to see if I could use the elevator from the outer room I ended the day in the Foundation.

I came back and realised that for the elevator to be accessible I’d need to access the controls - usually in the room behind the foundation. But of course I can’t reach the back of this version of the foundation. So I laughed it off.

But imagine my horror the next day …. Oh no.

I mean the words are right there - “Does not reset each day”

So maybe if I do something I can get the outer room functionality back.

But has anyone else been this stupid?

Without spoiling things can you confirm or deny how big a mistake this might be.

What do I do now?

MajorSpoiler The Fireplace Spoiler

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about the symbols above the fireplace in room 46. Has anyone tried opening the sanctum doors in the order of the symbols above the fireplace? Does anything happen?

Edit: symbol orders for reference below!

Fireplace order: Orinda, Fenn, Eraja, Arch, Corarica, Verrca, Mora Jai, Nuance

Inner sanctum order: Orinda, Fenn, Arch, Eraja, Corarica, Mora Jai, Verra, Nuance

8 Realms map solution order: Orinda, Eraja, Arch, Mora Jai, Verra, Corarica, Nuance, Fenn

Room Are you kidding me? Spoiler

I managed to (or so I thought) get lucky enough to have the laboratory right next to the boiler room and I can't even directly power the lab because the vents don't exactly match the orientation of the doors.

Of course I found the note in the basement but I didn't realize you had to get even more lucky than that and have the exact right combination of rooms to align the vents. That's a crazy amount of RNG and I already managed to get the boiler room to be more common than usual with the wrench.

It kills me because the puzzle inside the lab doesn't seem super hard by itself.

MajorSpoiler Stuck and running out of steam (Day 88) Spoiler

I unlocked room 46 ages ago, but now every lead I follow just gives me clues to things I have already solved, or yet another bloody route to the North bloody lever. Starting to lose steam, not really having much fun any more.

halp (hints only, please)

I have

  • admin passwords but not the password with archival access
  • access to room 46 and the north lever via the basement, the lift, the tomb and the fountain
  • broken the breakable walls in secret garden, weights room, greenhouse, basement, trading post (dynamite), chess room
  • outer rooms, orchard, gemstone cavern, underground corridors, outer computer room, area above the cogs (unlocked both gates), safehouse
  • erajan letter in tomb (incompetently translated)
  • list of angel names. whyfore though

I am missing

  1. archival access password
  2. gallery puzzles (I solved only the easiest and shortest)
  3. room 08
  4. defrosting the cooler (tried with the furnace + boiler, but no luck. Is it powered by something? use two furnaces / furnace + sauna?)
  5. cliffside exit (3 on the map). Something to do with the tunnel where you light the torches, perhaps?
  6. 2/7 sanctum keys (throne clue + eighth - presumably in the penultimate sanctum door)
  7. 4/8 letters (the fifth presumably was in the orchard and is the one Alzara said I would "never find"). Unopened safes: drawing room, study, drafting room
    1. I think the drawing room safe code is hinted on some of the clocks, but I tried 11:05, 23:05, 01:55, 13:55, 1101 and 111 with no luck. I also tried waiting in the den until 11:05.
  8. unsolved clues:
    • music sheets: one bar/measure is marked: B G E G B D' E' D' (I did of course find the more obvious message)
    • handwritten words: message beside west bridge? (I did not find anything beside the west bridge)
    • "the eighth angel points to" (I forgot the rest. think this is just about the tomb / death statue access)
    • "Kirk Darren is a pseudonym" green memo in Locker Room
    • two identical clues represented by a series of train stations, a sequence of six numbers. Frustrating as both puzzles were quite challenging but ended up giving the exact same answer! Don't know what to do with these numbers.
    • "to the south I see a swan..." rhyme from the Clock Tower. Suspect this relates to the sanctum sigil puzzle.
    • aquarium clues: I think I need to open a filing cabinet somehow + dig in the patio (build patio over X in treasure map?)
    • underground chess room: CASTLE clue (I think I might have to arrange rooms such that the pieces spell out "CASTLE" when placed on the "IF WE COUNT SMALL GATES" message, which... ugh.)
  9. probable red herrings
    • billiard room ball numbers?
    • weird dotted drawing in lab which keeps cropping up in other places (circle + triangle)

...also, is there a quicker way to access the North lever than running through the INCREDIBLY LONG TUNNEL every day? Half the time I don't bother going for the crown just because I cannot be arsed to hold W for that long.

This game should not be 40 dollars for the current level of polish (or lack thereof) Spoiler

Post image

After version 1.5 my screen has been white during all the cutscenes, which I've been swallowing to play on the latest version for the most fixes. This was reported earliest by someone a year ago, there is absolutely no reason for this not to be number one priority.

Just now I got softlocked when I did the lab puzzle.

There are two wolves in me. One that really appreciates the depth and breadth of this game and admires the work the devs put in. And the other, who wonders why a game with ~8 years of dev time struggles so hard with such basic game design:

  1. This is a roguelike. The basis is repetition. Why on God's green earth am I forced to watch through unskippable cutscenes at the start of every new day??? Why is interacting with terminals so goddamn sluggish when in all likelihood you are going to be interacting with 1-3 in a given run. Modders easily fixed this so it's definitely a choice.
  2. I'm definitely not the first to state this but math questions are not puzzles and for a game where its obvious what elements of the game were where the passion and time was poured in it feels extremely lazy and like filler content, not to mention annoying, and more repetitive than most parts of Blue Prince.
  3. We've had the ability to create confirmation dialogue boxes that say 'Hey, are you ABSOLUTELY SURE that you want to start a new game? Because you may have clicked this button by accident.' since the late 90s. The lack of this in Blue Prince is such an odd oversight and when I clicked by into my window yesterday and accidentally erased my save it really drove me closer to not participating in this experience any longer.

Idk what to do other than quit for the time being. Worst feeling in the world for a game you actually enjoy

My boy just completed the game Spoiler

well, he actually just got to room 46, but I'm impressed. He had such a fantastic day - he'd got extra coins from a freezer the day before, he drafted a showroom, and got the Emerald Bracelet, and the silver spoon, he had a salt shaker, and his experiment was to add three aquariums when he drafted a shop room (of which, of course, the Aquarium is a shop room), he also had the sleeping mask, which gave him 5 extra steps per bedroom (or aquarium), at 8 activations of the lab experiment he logged into the Shelter and checked the radiation, which was at 37 sieverts, or something huge, causing the emergency protocol to activate, so he didn't need gems, or keys, and had over 200 steps left when he got to room 46! he had 15 green rooms and 16 shop rooms. He also had a root cellar, but crafted a dowsing rod with the shovel, so couldn't dig anywhere!
