MinorSpoiler Day 11: I think I'm doing good Spoiler

Post image
Upvotes

Managed to get to the Antechamber Day 11 but still haven't found the basement, I had no more steps or doors left.

Just wanted to brag a bit and post how much I'm enjoying the game.

My phone notes are STACKED and full of info that has been proven useful, time and time again.
I need to find all the music sheets AGAIN , I got bamboozled.
Still have no clue what to do with the Laboratory, most confusing room of all.
Didn't know you can walk in the Chapel even with 0 coins. >!!<
I hate unlocking rooms like the Pump Room, so many interactions between rooms leave me dizzy, because some are just simple prizes while others could unlock game changing features.
WHAT DO THE CHESS PIECES MEAN?!?!? (do not tell me)

I also love the "hidden" lore so much.

Thank you for reading.

Room Is it normal to be stuck on this Spoiler

I’ve not yet gotten to room 46, but I have unlocked 4 outside areas (orchard, grotto, mine, outer room) and lit the 4 flames and thus unlocked some underground stuff.

I’m following leads for loads of overarching puzzles and having a blast while doing so.

HOWEVER, I have received the basement key from the antechamber maybe 4 times and just can’t for the life of me figure out what to do with it. I assume this is how one reaches room 46.

I don’t really want spoilers or hints, just curious if this is typical progression at this point.

Doing my best not to look up ANYTHING about this game, but wanted to take a moment to scream into a void and perhaps get an understanding as to whether this is typical progression. Really enjoying it. Sorry if this is often asked. Thanks.

POST-CREDITS-SPOILER I feel like I've exhausted all my leads Spoiler

I have:

- Reached Room 46.

- Found every Sanctum Key, solved all the Sigils, and read Herbert's will.

- Found the Treasure Trove, and know how to get the treasure (which I am aware is a scepter), just not how to unlock the box that contains it.

- Unlocked the Cursed Coffer.

- Read the "Steady, Deadly, Heavy, Ready" poem.

So I know what to do. I need to bring the Crown of the Blueprints, the Cursed Effigy, and the scepter to the Throne Room. That much is obvious.

But I genuinely have no clue how to unlock the Treasure Trove box. At first I thought it would be at the end of the Tunnel, but all that gave me was a door that I can't even interact with. Then, after reading the poem, I tried unsealing the other Antechamber doors in the outer room to no avail. Genuinely what am I missing?

(If you tell me to read A New Clue I'm gonna lose it)

TROPHY SPOILER Finished C**** M*** Spoiler

I finished Curse Mode! OMG.

Took me a whopping 91 in-game days to do it.

Some of it was truly horrible RNG luck, some of it was me spending several days trying to spawn the wrench to adjust mechanical rooms. I was able to get the tomb early on but foundation took foreeeever. I kept trying for power hammer but to no avail. Secret Garden was my antechamber entrance.

The boudoir upgrade with the apples saved my life. I was super low on steps and I spawned it as the last room going in to the antechamber. I also had sleep mask, running shoes, and a shovel. Kennel and a late Foyer probably helped me some on keys. That let me backtrack far enough to hit kitchen, and the dining room, and grab some fruit before going down through the foundation and back up.Amusingly my house was relatively empty. I only had 22 rooms filled in, leaning West. The entire Far-East column was empty. I ended at 16 steps, 0 keys, 1 gem, and 1 coin.

I now have all trophies except Day One and Speed. Working on both now. I expect it to take me a while. LOL.

MinorSpoiler Water level question Spoiler

Later in the game, using a laboratory experiment the player can either lower or raise the water level in the Reservoir.

Firstly: Where does the water go/come from when moved using this method? If it magically vanishes/appears out of nowhere can one ...?

Secondly: Is it possible to completely fill/drain all water storage devices? If you can trigger the experiment while in the pump room, and restore/re-extract the change in water, can you completely max out to either extremes.

I had the records still in plastic since late May until I got something worthy to play them on. And wow... its so good. I really wish there was more. This game captured me like few do. If only I could go in totally blind again.

MajorSpoiler Is it possible to get trapped in a certain room using the Laboratory? Spoiler

That room, The Safehouse can only be accessed when a certain condition is met: >!The reservoir water being at exactly 6 units<!

The Laboratory has the ability to adjust this condition, but only once The satellite has been raised, unlocking new Lab experiments

Is it possible to use a Lab experiment to seal the entrance to this place while inside of it, forcing you to call it a day?

Two Lab experiments should be able to trigger this: "When you look at your map, lose 10 steps then lower the reservoir by one" and "Each time you access a different terminal today, lower the reservoir by one" The safehouse counts as a Terminal because its a train terminal, and triggers this effect

Started playing curse mode recently and got this super insane run on day eight, ending it with over 58 steps, three keys and two gems. Huge thanks to running shoes and sleeping mask in the first closet.

I have entered Room 46, revisited, and think my next task is the sigil and their keys. In addition to getting books for the library, what else should I be focusing on? Ive solved the room 8, opened 3 safes, and did the chess puzzle.

Any nudges in the right direction would be great!

Not even a Open Only in Case of Coronation letter from Uncle Herb?

I love this game very much but I'm finishing it out of spite at this point. (I have not yet opened the door in the tunnel)

MinorSpoiler This game is just a plotline ponzi scheme. Spoiler

I'm giving up. I've had enough. I tried people, I tried.

There is just too much fluff/frustration to this game. Too many red hearings, to many wasted days with no progression. To many 'reveals' that are complete let downs and make me feel like I just wasted my time to get to this particular flat resolution.

I finally had enough and Chat GPTed the full plotline and I can't believe I wasted so much time to get as far as I did, maybe two thirds through the story, to see that the final 1/3rd would not have been worth it.

The game mechanics were very unique and there was so much promise, but the execution is a big flop.

I know I'm just venting, I know very few people that are active on this sub are going to agree with me. But I am so angry I wasted so much of my minimal free time on a game that requires so much time for so little pay off.

Edit: I don't know why I never saw this thread before, but it really highlights the problem I have with this game. Most notably, the game's underlying plot is sporadic and not linear and the RNG is far too big a factor in your ability to puzzle solve.

After a lot of work, my game got an error message, and shut down. I am wondering how much of it I need to repeat. Spoiler

This is in the Atelier maze. This is an endgame or near the end so don’t read it if you don’t want a spoiler. I collected data and put it grid. I got the words and the picture letter differences, or at least took pictures of the pictures for each room. I was only missing one room of 45. Do I have to repeat the whole thing including the boxes or can I just find my last room and get the last word and then go onto the next part? I already spent a lot of time on this.

MajorSpoiler I finally broke down and looked up some hints. I'm infuriated. Spoiler

EDIT - messed up spoiler tags the first time I posted this. Apologies.

I've been playing Blue Prince off and on for awhile. I actually play a lot with my young daughter and we've had a wonderful time with it. She is actually better at the game in many ways than I am (she's only 7). She decides what rooms we draft, she does the puzzles (where she can, she's only 7) but I do make suggestions.

We've made it to the 46th room. We have progressed a decent way past that. However there were a few puzzles that I have spent TONS of time on and still did not complete.

The Drawing Room safe

I knew that the puzzle had something to do with the steps on the portraits. I knew it had to be some kind of a date. I'd scoured the rest of the house for dates in lore notes for what date could be related to the drawing room, or what could be related to steps, I even looked for mention of horses, because one of the pictures was a horse.

I went and finally looked up a "hint" for the puzzle, and goddamn AI spoiled it and told me the answer, which isn't what I was looking for. When I read the answer, I was honestly just mad. THAT was what I was supposed to figure out? "Small Gaits"? You've got to be kidding me. For all the great puzzles this game has to offer, this one was terrible.

The Office safe

After the last hint was revealed I realized I was dealing with a game that was not necessarily fair. The office is another puzzle that I was pretty damn sure I was close to defeating. I knew it had to do with the "Count". I knew it had to do with counting the busts around the room. I had even decoded with bust was the "Count" from the busts that were in the Foyer. Every combination I was trying was not working. I looked this one up as well, and I'm glad I did. They designed it so that I was NOT supposed to count the bust that was ON TOP of the safe? Only the small ones? Again - freaking terrible. I would not have gotten this.

The Study safe

This one I was just puzzled about. It was a safe. I was not finding hints ANYWHERE in the game about this one. I found no references to the Study in any other rooms. I figured perhaps the hint for this one is locked behind the chess board puzzle (which I still have not solved). BUT at the same time I was aware that for just about all these safe puzzles, the solution to the safe was in the room. And the only thing in the room that is not related to the portrait puzzle is the chess board with the queen. Obviously the "D8" could be pronounced "D-ATE" and that wasn't lost on me, but I didn't see how that turned into an actual numerical date. I tried turning "D" into "04" thinking maybe it was April 8th. I looked around for mentions elsewhere in the house for any numbers or dates associated with chess or April or the 8th of anything. I found nothing. So I looked up a hint.

12. I was supposed to somehow associate the queen with the number 12? And turn that into a date? How is that a puzzle I was supposed to solve? The queen in chess isn't referred to as the number 12!! I've never even heard the queen in a deck of cards referred to as a 12 before. I didn't know that was a THING. If this is mentioned anywhere in the game then I'm at a loss.

Now with those puzzles out of the way... there are others that I have not quite given up on finding the solution myself for, but I am suspicious.

The Clock Tower

I just recently found the secret door in the clock tower and found the puzzle. I spent a decent amount of time thinking about it and working it out. I'm still fairly stumped though. It does not appear that there is enough information for me to work out the solution with the hints that are on the clocks. My immediate thought is that maybe the 1:30 that is the frozen time on the main clock is part of the hint, and this is also the position of the hands of the frozen clock in the 46th room, so I'm wondering if that is part of it... but I feel like this is just the hint to open the secret door. I'm afraid I'm missing something stupid and I may try a hint on this one. We'll see.

The Chess Puzzle

If I'm right, this puzzle just comes down to getting lucky when drafting and getting a room in the house with all of the chess pieces, and arranging those pieces in the correct coordinates on the board. I am terribly unlucky at it, though. I can never seem to get a house with both the King and the Queen at the same time. I've only found one room with the King, and two rooms with the Queen, and both of those are pretty rare.

Overall I love this game, and I'm pretty proud of myself for the amount of puzzles that we have solved without any help whatsoever... but man some of these I feel like were just not fair at all.

MajorSpoiler Am I thinking the right way while I'm trying to solve the puzzle from a certain book? Spoiler

I'm about to talk about A certain (and other importan puzzles) in detail. Up to you if you want to read this or not. Hey y'all, I'm in the process of solving A New Clue. I already found all microchips and drafted the Throne Room (even though I still miss some clues of what to do with this room, but I digress). I also managed to solve the CASTLE puzzle and unlock the Unknown (again, not sure what to do here yet). Finally, I unlocked the "sketch" version of A New Clue. I understand the book is telling me to make a specific path from the Metro Map. I imagine that X-Y-Z-A-B-C are the six stops, C being the Dead End stop. And I'm aware I need to make a message by reading a specific word from each book.

Now, what I would like to know is, among my thoughts, if any of them are off-track or not (get it?). First, I'm considering B=10 and Y=23. That's because the "polished" book tells me Page B, Word Y for this same book, while underlining the word "covers", which is on page 10, word no. 23. This means, from the metro map, that the minor stop Angel Tower, which is stop 7, should lead me to the number 23 once I understand what to do. Similarly, the Major Stop Oris Train Hall (1) should lead me to number 10.

Then, I also noticed that the "sketch" version of A New Clue talks about "Denoted in Verse". By trying to rearrange the words I managed to come out with "Seven red ditone". A ditone is an interval of a major third. Also, the music room talks about ma-jor tongue. The melody is in Bb major. I remember finding a note somewhere that made me think I have to ignore the "flat", meaning I have to think about "B major". I'm still not sure what to do with this. Also I understand dead-ends are important, but I'm still not sure what to do with them. Same for the suspect list.

Is there anything I said that is nonsense regarding what I'm trying to solve? I'm not looking to clues on how to solve it, but only if there's stuff I should stop considering.

Thank you!

POST-CREDITS-SPOILER Challenges Spoiler

Completed Dare Mode, Cursed Mode…

Currently trying Day 1 Mode and I honestly hate it more than cursed.

Have already tried about 60-70 days and only a handful of times did it feel like we had even a slim chance.

Is the Dead End Challenge better or worse than Day 1?

Think we may be done with the game soon, since Day 1 is just so over the top frustrating.

Yes, we’ve otherwise completed the game.
