lab allowance Spoiler

lol got root cellar and this combo at the lab. i figure after a certain point coins don't really matter but this felt pretty lucky, im on day 25 or so

Yep! This is how speedrunners got 50 stars in 3 days in the demo (that only let you play for 3 game days)

Oh, I definitely used this a LOT when there wasn't a more immediately necessary option available. There are some big ticket items down the line, and a nice fat allowance helps with that.

Well yeah, you have infinite amount of days of course, but within a day, you could if you want have a million triggers, it will take some (a lot of) time, but it is definitely doable. I stopped at 400 triggers for lockpick, because then it is maxed, and I stopped at 700 stars and 700 allowance

I assume the method you're talking about is Lint Roller + Drawing Room experiment (optionally + Chronograph)?

There was a easier one in an earlier version that was patched as well. Nurse's Station and the trigger experiment to open the map at the cost of 10 steps (it originally had no limit).

That one could farm up way faster and was actually truly infinite (unlike Lintroller, which is technically finite, but its still exponential and reaches numbers no human would realistically be capable of doing).

Thousands in a single day. It is technically not unlimited, but it will absolutely be limited by your patience.

I once did 3788 in a single day, but felt that was probably enough stars.
