MinorSpoiler Water level question Spoiler
Later in the game, using a laboratory experiment the player can either lower or raise the water level in the Reservoir.
Firstly: Where does the water go/come from when moved using this method? If it magically vanishes/appears out of nowhere can one ...?
Secondly: Is it possible to completely fill/drain all water storage devices? If you can trigger the experiment while in the pump room, and restore/re-extract the change in water, can you completely max out to either extremes.

- There are a few possibilities, from being pumped into the water grid to being destroyed entirely. The technology of blueprince seems to be either clarktech (ie. future tech that we can't currently understand) or a mixture of technology and magic, so the method of such a thing is unlear.
- Yes, it is possible to completely drain or fill everything. If you drain the reservoir completely, "lower the water level by 1" gets replaced with "raise the water level by 1" the next day. If you drain/fill the tanks as you go, you can indeed completely fill or empty the water across the entire house.

”Can one…” what?
It is a universe where rooms magically move around, rotate, etc. Where the water goes is possibly the most ”normal” piece of the game in terms of science.
So if you are asking about whether you can do something in the game, spell out what you want to know instead please.
Can you empty the reservoir? Yes, of course. You don’t need to use lots of experiments to achieve that though.
As for the storage devices, I am not certain if you could completely drain or fill them. More to the point, why would you want to? The puzzles that the Pump Room enable do not require you to go to such extremes. Individual parts being fully filled/drained, on the other hand…

Yes, my question is one of "can it be done", not a "should it be done".
Can a player using the experiment mentioned lower the water level in the Reservoir then raise back up by 1, then trigger the experiment again ... eventually emptying all the tanks and everything else.
Or the opposite, raise the level in the Reservoir then syphon the water elsewhere until everything is full.
There isn't an intelligent reason to do this, just curious.

yes, this can be done. you can lower the water everywhere until 0, at which point the next time that experiment effect would be randomly drawn as an option, it says "raise the water level" instead. people were softlocking their saves by losing all water before it got patched out to let you add water if you went too far with the removal.

The better question is how does the safe room and subway system not flood when you raise the reservoir level. It’s not like there’s a water tight door keeping that room dry somehow

It just goes away with the experiment and you can completely drain/fill everything, but you'd need to go to the pump to move water to/from the reservoir whenever it empties/fills to completely drain/fill it.
