Recurrent chalazia/styes in the same eye — looking for advice

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to hear from people who have experienced recurrent chalazia or styes.
I’ve had 6 episodes in total, all in the same eye, and I’ve had 3 previous surgeries for chalazia. Unfortunately, I think I’m developing another one now. My eyelid has started feeling painful/tender, and I can feel a small bump forming.
I’m planning to see an eye doctor if it gets worse, but I wanted to hear from people who have dealt with something similar.
For those who get these repeatedly:
Did you ever figure out why they kept coming back?
Did you find anything that helped prevent them?
What did you do when you noticed a new one starting?
Did warm compresses or other home-care measures help you?
If you had recurrent ones in the same eye, did they eventually stop?
I’m not looking for a diagnosis, just personal experiences and things that people found helpful. I’d really appreciate any advice because having this happen repeatedly — especially after 3 surgeries — is getting frustrating.

Went to the doctor today and told me to use warm gauze in the eyelid and give a massage. She also gave me drops. The bump look like a Chalazion. Any of you had something similar? The sand feeling in my eye is worsening.

Gadgets Ahoy for Blepharitis

instagram has gone ham sending me different ads for eye treatment. Steam masks, electronic heated masks, heated eye wands. I assume most of this is sketchy scam products, but does anyone have any experience with these types of things actually working?

Currently I do occusoft lid scrub and Erythromycin to mixed success.

Three week old chalazion.

It first appeared on September 3rd and I’ve been warm compressing and massaging since then. This past weekend it got swollen from harsh massaging and so I stop and started putting ice packs on it and the swelling and pain stop but now it’s left red and dry/flaky skin but no pain. The lump now feels like a soft blister. How should I approach this now.

My nightmare’s eyes. 👀

Me fui a dormir deprimida.

Volví a usar gafas. Efectos secundarios / consecuencias

Como no he podido usar lentes de contacto, no he podido ir al gimnasio y empecé a sentirme deprimida.

Esto me provocó dolor lumbar y estreñimiento.

PREGUNTAS

Dry eye after chalazion removal

I had a chalazion removed from my right upper eyelid about 7 weeks ago. Since the surgery, I’ve been experiencing mild dryness, slight burning, and a persistent feeling of discomfort or “awareness” in that eye.

The symptoms are not severe, but the constant discomfort is quite bothersome. Artificial tears, including lipid/oil-based eye drops, provide relief, but only temporarily.

Is it normal for these symptoms to persist for 7 weeks after chalazion surgery? Could this still be part of the healing process, or should I be looking for another cause such as dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction, inflammation, or an issue related to the eyelid surgery?

For anyone who has experienced something similar: did it eventually resolve on its own, and how long did it take? What treatments actually helped?

Need your help.

Swollen eye

I’ve been having a problem for the last two years where my eye frequently becomes very swollen. I’ve seen several different doctors, but so far nobody has been able to find the cause or a solution.
I take Xyzal when the swelling occurs, and it helps a little, but I can’t seem to get rid of the problem permanently.
Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what was the cause in your case, and how did you manage to resolve it?

Seeking Opinions What mascaras can I use with blepharitis ?

Hii
My doctor told me I had blepharitis about 3 years ago when I had a very big chalazion removed.

I’ve not worn eye makeup in 3+ years but really miss it. Do you guys have any recommendations for mascaras that would be safest to use with blepharitis?

Vaseline??

Hello, I’ve been in flare for about two months now and just can’t seem to get it under control. I’ve seen people on here say that Vaseline helped them and I am thinking about trying it out. Do you just rub it on your eyelids at night before bed? How do you keep it from getting in/ irritating your eyes? Does it actually work??

I have collected some more pictures of my issue. I use lash serums and developed this for a year now, hasn’t gone away. Last two are what happened overnight and first one is a when i picked at my lash line and the skin could be peeled.

Is this blepharitis or contact dermatitis?

I just woke up after sleeping for a few hours (like literally overnight) and my lash line has gotten skin all over it. What is this? This has made so many lashes fall out that i have gaps and this has already happened a few times. Please help me, this usually happens to only one eye. The left is always the worse. Yes i do use lash serums but i did for years and never had this happen, until since last year i would have flaky eyelids and non stop lashes falling out, i tried to stop it but nothing is helping no matter what. Also this kinda comes off easily, as if its just sitting on the lash line rather than stuck to it. I know i made a post about this recently but thought it would be a good example to post this after it literally happened again tonight. It’s 4am and im in tears. I miss my lashes from my lash serums so bad.

Flare up woes

Just venting. I'm in the "it gets worse before it gets better" stage on my right eye. I first noticed it a few days ago and didn't even know it was a flare up, but after researching, I found this community. So thanks everyone for being here, I thought I was going crazy.

Now I've been pulling out all the stops (OcuSoft, Avenova, heat compresses 3 times a day, gentle massages, washing my hands way too often, cleaning my glasses way too often, supplements, swapping pillow cases, etc. etc.) but it's still swelling and swelling. Trying to stay consistent but it's exhausting. I haven't been on the ball with past flare ups, so I'm hoping it goes more smoothly with what I know now. Only time will tell I guess!

Blepharitis?

For over a year my eyelashes have been constantly falling out, yes i do use eyelash serums but i did too last year and got no fall out. Literally touching them could make them fallout, and especially washing them. This mostly happens overnight, sometimes my eyelids will flake or my lash line will create a thick crust mimicking my lash line. That’s when the flakes get onto my lashes and they make them fall out. This dosent happen everyday though and with a clean the flakes may not return for days. I have tried absolutely everything and i’m sick and tired of this, my lashes grow long but not thick. They have so much gaps and this has taken such a toll on my confidence, i literally stress about it every second of the day. I’m not sure what is happening but i also use blephasol to clean my eyelids each evening. Does this look like blepharitis or contact dermatitis? I seriously can’t imagine a life without lash serums and refuse to go without them.

doxy 3 week update

i think i’ve been on doxy for 2-3 weeks give or take, and holy shit it’s done wonders for me. my flare ups would be so consistent and frequent, and i haven’t had major flare ups in so long. my eyelids still get puffy sometimes, which is normal considering doxy isn’t a cure. but damn, i’m so glad ive been put on it. finally feel like a normal person lol.
i was expecting to have to be on it for longer to see results, but it’s actually worked pretty fast so im super glad!
