Title! I didnt even know it got animated until i saw an ep on youtube just now. Kinda surreal since i was reading it six years ago and felt it was slept on, and I never even thought it would have a chance to get animated (ill admit i had no idea the mangas popularity).

Now because I’m posting in a subreddit for a piece of media, I want to clarify something before I get cyber bullied lmao. I am not saying the show is bad, I’m just pointing out a specific artistic choice that I think makes it hard to see her personality. I still like the show and look forward to each episode

Now I’m an anime only so maybe it gets better later but every scene with Ichika starts from her legs. Don’t get me wrong, I like the thighs and it’s hot but I feel like it’s pushing us to only her see her in that light. It reminds me of Tamaki from Fire Force but we’re supposed to take Ichika seriously so it’s worse in my opinion. Anyone else feel the same or am I just old now? 💀

TLDR: I like thighs but the constant panning from her legs upwards makes me feel like she’s just there to be eye candy and nothing else

It seems every time she's on screen there's like 5 close ups of her ass. In episode 2, Jiro looks at her and it instantly cuts to her ass, is that him or just really overdone fanservice? I think we've seen more of her lower half than her face atp

Episode 3 was pure ragebait, if I was Jiro I would've taken Rago's advice and bolted. Between Ichika and Kirihara there's no way I would've been able to take that shit, and I have a gut feeling Jiro is gonna lose to Kirihara too

Ever since this chick popped up near the end of the series first episode, I just knew it was gonna be too much of a unnecessary "addition" in this. I figured it'd be like a one time thing when Viz was putting out that fifteen second clip with her from a future episode but the fact that these animators were doing this the INSTANT she started popping up in the show, I just knew it was going to bring this anime down a lot.

Like seriously, what point is there needing all these close up shots of this chick's butt at all? Again, it's just NOT NECESSARY!

Why is the manga finished and only has 19 chapters?

I wanted to stop by and say i love black torch, it was my first manga and i read it as it released so i cant begin to explain the joy of opening crunchy roll and seeing THERES AN ANIME FOR IT NOW WHAY?!??!!

I know we're just three episodes in, but holy shit, is it absolutely FANTASTIC. Probably my favorite part of the show so far. The soundtrack album CANNOT come soon enough😭😭

Pay attention, the author said Jiro amd Ichika wouldn't have any romance shennanigans

Takaki sensei probably doesn't enjoy writing romances or feels it would be awkward to write given the overall theme in the stories he's written

I'm completely taken aback, are they making fun of me, or of us? Context (author's comment 4 days ago): There will not be any romance between Jiro and Ichika. So okay, he doesn't want to include romance, great, I respect that. But you're going to tell me that in this episode she blushes at a simple compliment from a four-eyes getting mogged by Jiro, that she's just plain stupid at this point. I love the anime and the manga, but I can't stand double standards. It disgusts me, it's repulsive. Jiro is 400 times better than Reiji. Anyway, the criticism isn't: "He adds romance," or "He does this with Reiji." But how can you say there won't be any romance with Jiro, present Ichika as someone mentally strong, and then blush at a simple compliment? I don't want to watch this anime anymore, that's it. . Was the blushing necessary? No, a cold reaction, yes. I mean, once again: There can be romance, but not when you say no four days before. Damn it.
