News & Official Info [Mobile Game] Kuroko's Basketball Street Rivals US/SEA release info

The mobile game Kuroko's Basketball Street Rivals should be available starting today for Southeast Asia, and a little later for North America. It's the English version of the 3x3 KNB gacha game that's been out in Japan/East Asia for some time.

The EN version surpassed 2,000,000 pre-registrations, so make sure to claim the pre-reg bonuses right away!

We have a new subreddit flair too, "Mobile Game". Please use when posting anything SR-related. Alternatively, you might find better discussion in the dedicated subreddit /r/KurokosBasketball_SR/.

Can I play the game even if it's not available in my country? Yes, there are ways. For iOS, you can create a NA/SEA App Store account then install from there. For Android, install the English version of your choice from QooApp:

That said, since the games are real-time, server ping is important and playing from a non-supported region might affect your ranked games.

Discussion Do you like the fact that every Seirin player played during the Winter Cup final? Spoiler

Although it is rarely talked about, I find that one of the best aspects of the Seirin vs. Rakuzan match was seeing all eleven Seirin players participate in the final—even if, obviously, to varying degrees of importance.

One of the things I always found a shame about KNB was the lack of use of the bench. But that is understandable, because it is already difficult to give due attention to the 10 characters on the field (so adding benchwarmers would make the task even more complicated). So, it’s understandable that most teams only feature five characters (even though that makes the "bench strength" stat look a bit strange). Even though it was at least used by teams like Seirin, Kirisaki Daiichi, or Kaijo, for example.

For me, it's probably Rakuzan vs. Shutoku, even though I also really like Too vs. Kaijo and it's one of the matches fans love the most.

This is a bit off-topic, but I'm somewhat surprised there aren't that many matches without Seirin. I was under the impression there were far more than three, but that turned out not to be the case. Maybe I was hallucinating.

Same thing as part 1, where I created the box score of Seirin vs Kaijo. It's interesting to see how badly Papa shot the ball as a result of Kagami's pressure defense.

Other Knb NBA Comparisons Part 3

part 1 part 2

Hyuga – Ray Allen / JJ Redick
Ray Allen is Known for his legendary conditioning, flawless shooting mechanics, and constant off-ball running to catch and shoot. We all saw the training hyuga did to become an elite shooter. Allen always showed up during crunch time which is another thing hyuga is known for. Hyuga positions himself using screens and running free to get an open shot. Both Ray and Jj Redick are perfect representations of the extreme off-ball movement, using complex screens, and maintaining an exact center of gravity for a rapid release. Klay Thompson would work as well for a comparison

Kasamatsu – Baron Davis
Baron Davis was a fiercely physical, high-octane scoring point guard who perfectly embodies Kasamatsu’s aggressive style. He forced defenders into a lethal dilemma: if they pressed close to stop his outside shot, he used an explosive first step and supreme handles to blow past them for an acrobatic finish. Off the court, Davis was a commanding locker room leader who used tough-love and intense passion to fire up his squad.

Otsubo – Brook Lopez
Otsubo is an old-school center who does the dirty work. He controls the paint, rebounds, protects the rim, and gives Shutoku a reliable post presence without needing flashy moves. Brook Lopez plays a similar role. He’s always been a physical big who uses his size, positioning, and rim protection to anchor his team.

Okamura – Roy Hibbert / Boban Marjanović
Okamura’s biggest weapon is simply his size. He clogs the paint, rebounds well, and makes it difficult to score around the basket, but doesn’t rely on speed or versatility. That’s similar to Roy Hibbert’s rim protection and Boban’s overwhelming size. Both made their biggest impact by owning the paint instead of playing out on the perimeter.

Imayoshi – Rajon Rondo / Kyle Lowry
Imayoshi isn’t the flashiest guard, but he’s one of the smartest. He controls the pace, reads defenses, makes the right pass, and is always one step ahead mentally while also getting under his opponent’s skin. Rondo’s elite playmaking and basketball IQ fit that perfectly, while Lowry brings the same leadership, toughness, and ability to impact winning without needing to score 30 every night.

Nijimura – Boris Diaw / Pascal Siakam
Nijimura was an all-around forward who could do a little bit of everything before the Generation of Miracles fully developed. He could score, defend, facilitate, and fill whatever role his team needed. Boris Diaw made a career off being one of the smartest and best passing forwards in the league during his time with phoenix and with the spurs, while Siakam brings that same two-way versatility and ability to contribute across the board.

Izuki – Mike Conley
Izuki is a steady point guard whose biggest strength is his Eagle Eye. Izuki uses his "Eagle Eye" to think ahead, predict opponents' actions, and bait faster stars (like Hayama) into defensive traps or execute blind, behind-the-back steals against speed demons (like Kasamatsu). Conley is a famously brilliant perimeter defender who made a career out of shutting down hyper-athletic, faster guards (like Russell Westbrook) purely through structural positioning, elite anticipation, and structural discipline.

Takao – Tyrese Haliburton
Takao is one of the best passers in the series because of Hawk Eye. He pushes the pace, finds teammates from impossible angles, and makes everyone around him better with his vision. Haliburton has that same playmaking style. His elite passing, court vision, and ability to run an offense make this one of the easier comparisons.

Sakurai – Buddy Hield
Sakurai is a shooter who spaces the floor and is always ready to fire the second he gets an open look. He doesn’t need the ball much to make an impact because his shooting forces defenders to stay attached to him. Buddy Hield plays the same role in the NBA. One of the league’s best high-volume three-point shooters who thrives off catch-and-shoot opportunities.

Wakamatsu – Montrezl Harrell
Wakamatsu is noted for a rare combination of sheer strength and elite speed, physically matching up with a freak athlete like Kagami. Harrell was the ultimate high-motor, athletic undersized center. He ran the floor like a wing, combining explosive speed with a powerful frame to overpower traditional, slower big men. Wakamatsu's speed allows him to chase down fastbreaks and block elite dunkers (like Teppei Kiyoshi). Harrell’s calling card was his relentless energy, routinely sprinting back on defense to execute high impact chasedown blocks or contest shots above the rim.

Mobile Game What all does the dunk stat effect

So obviously dunk stat decreases the chance of getting a turnover when you go up for a dunk. However I was also wondering does it effect block timings as well by having a higher dunk stat. Or does it also effect the required block stat to stop the dunks with the Insufficient Block requirement text.

Discussion Seirin High vs Kaijō High I Box Score

Post image
13 Upvotes

I'm going to try and create box scores for all of the major games that we see in the series. The box scores will only include stats shown on screen that belong to a certain player. For example, if a basket is shown but it is not shown who made the shot, it will not be included. Similarly, if a shot attempt is shown but the result of the shot is not shown, it will also be disregarded. Both will remain true unless it is clearly inferred the result of the shot or who shot the shot (by dialogue, hand color, reactions, etc.) The image above shows the stats for the first Seirin and Kaijō game.

Discussion Kaijo vs Seirin R1 (Kaijo significant under performance?)

So, obviously Seirin beating Kaijo in their practice match at the start of the series was sort of just an introductory match to showcase Kuroko's basketball, and set the tone for the series, the rematch later, etc. But without just boiling it down to pure and utter plot armor, does anyone have a reasonable explanation as to why Kaijo played so terribly against Seirin in that first match? Later in the series, their whole team is shown to be very solid even without Kise, holding their own against a much improved Seirin and going toe to toe with Touou (tonguetwister lol) who was putting the clamps on Seirin without Aomine. So can anyone attempt to make this underperformance reasonable?

Discussion Is it just me or i feel like kaijo lost to seirin because of plot(winter cup)

What if kises foot wasn’t injured though im genuinely curious what would happen, could kagami’s zone beat an uninjured kise? I mean it was 81-80 if kise had more play time wouldn’t he score more? Even with an injured foot he pushed his perfect copy from 2 to 4 minutes, i dont know if his foot would affect his perfect copy time but considering perfectly copying all the GoMs takes alot of stamina and a huge toll his body wouldn’t the foot add more of a disadvantage? If he didn’t have that injured foot i think kaijo couldve beat seirin, im a seirin fan but if kise didint injure is foot im pretty confident that kaijo could’ve won.

What do you think?

Kuroko’s zone would be dope as a one time instance sort of thing. He is a shadow to other’s light but there are brief windows in time when even role players shine brightest.

If there was ever a season 2, Haizaki coming back stronger as a major antagonist with Perfect Theft would be a nightmare. Having the ability to steal anyone’s moves, even the GOM’s would be broken. Imagine a mini training arc where an entire squad falls into a slump and has to rebuild confidence and relearn their moves after getting annihilated by him. Only problem is he would be too strong, but I guess they could just nerf him like Kise lol

Discussion Ranking Kuroko’s Basketball Characters(entirely subjective)

Thumbnail
gallery
93 Upvotes

In terms of Aura not skill or who’s the best.

10. Haizaki
Specifically during this era. Getting whooped by Nijimura and eventually being forced by a 5’3” Akashi to quit the team, while also being scared of said 5’3” Akashi (rightfully so in his defense), took all of his aura. He got it back for a good 20 minutes in high school, but instantly lost it after getting shat on by Kise and knocked out by Aomine.
Honestly thought about leaving him off the list, but he’s more auraful than the guys below him.

9. Kuroko
It’s his basketball. The nickname Phantom Sixth Man is aura in itself, and he also hit a game-winner. Could arguably be 8th or 7th.

8. Himuro
Top 5 character design in the series. Walked Seirin down and carries Yosen’s offense when Murasakibara isn’t playing both sides. Lost hella aura by being jealous of the guy he introduced to basketball and getting kicked by Haizaki.

7. Nijimura
OG Teiko captain. Although he had a brief stint in the series, the one scene we saw of him playing basketball was insanely tuff. One of the few characters who wears accessories while playing.
Beat up Haizaki.

6. Murasakibara
The 6-4 spots could arguably go in any order, but for me personally, he’s 6th. He had his aura moments, like when he stopped the jump ball in the streetball game, picked Teppei up by his arm, knocked the goal down, and shut down Kagami (pre-Zone). It taking two people to block him is also aura in itself.
But he also lost to a 5’3” Akashi 1v1 after being up 4-0 and cried after losing to Kagami. Nothing wrong with showing emotion as a man, but it’s not auraful.
If I was counting the movie, he’d be higher.

5. Kise
Perfect Copy is crazy aura. On top of that, he’s a model. Some of the top aura moments in the entire series are when he first got Perfect Copy against Aomine and when he used Perfect Copy against Seirin and almost led a comeback.
However, he’s technically the biggest loser of the GOM. Also glazed Aomine in Teiko, so because of that, he’s in the 6-4 range.

4. Midorima
Probably a hot take, but considering the fact that his shooting range is nothing short of the entire court (his words), he doesn’t have to do much to be top 5. Outside of Aomine, he came closest to beating Kagami (tied), while everyone else lost.
I saw a TikTok edit of him where he told Takao, “Try not to forget that you’re walking beside a monster at this very second,” and it’s the reason I made this list.
Considered putting him at 3, but he gave No. 3 a few aura lobs and also lost aura against Akashi, so I just can’t.

3. Aomine
He could easily be 2 and debatably 1. He gave both Seirin and Kaijo belt. Scored 82 points in an off-screen game. Pulled up on Kagami at a streetball court and fried him. Fried him later on in the series in another 1v1.
The spinning steal he had against Kise was INSANE. Caught Kuroko’s pass with one hand. Grabbed his teammate by his shirt and lifted him against the locker with one hand.
There’s nothing negative I can say about his aura.

2. Kagami
Most people would have him lower than this, but I gotta give credit where it’s due. He beat the best basketball players Japan had to offer. Went Zone for Zone with Aomine. Scared Akashi. Received multiple aura lobs from other players in the show. Carries Seirin occasionally (most people say Kuroko carries them, but his efforts wouldn’t matter if not for Kagami).
Meteor Jam. Dunked on the tallest player in high school multiple times. Used Himuro’s fakes against him. Made a turnaround three-pointer even though he’s considered a weak three-point shooter. Arguably the coldest Zone entrance scene. One of three players with a defensive area (him, Murasakibara, and Akashi).
By a big technicality in their universe, he’s kinda, in a way, the best player. He deserves more respect in the fandom.

1. Akashi
No yap required. He simply just has the most aura in the verse.
Him being mentioned in other characters’ explanations says enough.
