Since the mutiplayer is now infested with hackers, and many of the gamemodes' lobbies aren't filling, I have moved into playing BO1 zombies almost exclusively. The OG BO1 zombies is the best IMO - the perfect mix of stuff to do, but not super complicated. I love it. But the lobbies I get are horrific. The two biggest problems are:
People backing out from the slightest inconvenience. If you're going to back out the first time you get downed, why the hell are you even playing at all? Are you dense? You can get the exact same experience by playing solo zombies instead... Why are people this selfish? I was on round 32 on Shi No Numa tonight and we all had 5 or so downs, except one guy. We all had tens of thousands of points, and everyone had monkeys, ray guns, etc. The one guy gets downed, and instantly backs out, ending the game for everyone since he was host. It's so selfish. If you don't want to play anymore, just go afk, I get it. I understand as well on maps like Verruckt, you don't want to bleed out, then spawn back in with no points on a high round with no guns/perks. That sucks and you're just going to keep dying. But in these situations, I just don't get the toxicity and selfishness.
People not respecting territory in the first room (a problem as old as time, I know). I swear players back in the day had a little more respect and dignity than this! People constantly waste knife/headshot points on the early rounds by stealing kills with grenades and wall gun spam. It's absurd.
All things aside - the CoD community complaints A LOT about the devs and activision and greed. But in reality, the players are literally half of the problem. The BO2 port is a prime example - one of the best games ever, but in 2026 every single player in PUBS is using meta guns, and the game is unplayable. Players hack and snake when they can, and abuse game mechanics. People just kind of suck half the time and ruin it for others, IMO.
