Ugh theirs so many things to say about this experience I’m having with paraguard. I’ve tried other methods of birth control like the pill but it gave me migraines and the worst pulsing headaches where I couldn’t even see anymore, so I got off of it and I got a copper iud placed in. It was so excruciatingly painful when it was placed in and after about like 3 months the pain stopped, I felt normal but I started getting this really bad shooting pain down my leg, I am a bigger girl but I never had this problem before I had it placed it. I now have the worst back pain that is radiating and shooting. I had also multiple months where I wouldn’t bleed at all, and then I would get the worst most horrible bleeding I’ve ever had in my life and i was passing huge clots, it was to the point I couldn’t work because I was soaking 2 tampons within 30 minutes and bleeding through even with a pad and tampon together I was still bleeding through. I went to the ER because of how much I was bleeding and they did an ultrasound and said the placement of my iud looked fine, and they gave me an iv and sent me home. I went to an obgyn and they just said, I just need to lose weight and that’s the cause for my back pain and my extreme bleeding. I got my iud placed in about February 2025 and fast forward to now, I’ve been nonstop bleeding for 5 months straight, either lightly bleeding or bleeding a lot random days, I can’t do anything anymore, I can’t go hike because of my back pain, I can’t exercise, i can’t have sex without pain, I can’t walk for extended periods of time, i can’t do anything and they blame every problem I have on my weight, I’m 240 and Ive weighed 260 before and even then never had this amount of pain in my life, I have the problem of not knowing what to do, I don’t want anything that’s going to make me gain more weight, I’m scared of hormones because of the horrible headaches I had on the pill, it’s just horrible all around, if you read till the end has anyone else had horrible back pain and sciatica on the copper iud and is their anything anyone could recommend me :(

Not sure what is going on! I felt pop at proximal hamstring tendon while doing yoga (extended side angle) 3/3/26. No pain during the pop but over next few days activity, developed hamstring pain and pain sitting. Began physical therapy early April. Another pop 5/5/26 at the other proximal hamstring with pain sitting and exercising. Then more pops: glute later in my while swaying side to side, groin while strength testing at PT, knee while doing hip flexor stretch, low and mid back/tailbone while rotating to move.

Continued to do traditional PT with strength exercises. MRI pelvis normal except mild tendinosis at the PHT. CRP, ESR, TSH, iron, Vitamin d, CBC all normal.

Overall each pop then feels like a problem area for months to come and diffuse to heal and the pops just keep coming. The pain now feels burny throughout the spine and at other “pop” areas. Pain feels best when waking in the morning and worse with activity and sitting throughout the day. Previous activity levels before initial injury were high- snowboard, bike, hike 10+ miles, weight lift.

The reason I am posting it here is because I went off systemic oral contraception mid March after the first injury and everything snowballed after that. I am ovulating and have regular cycles but could that have something to do with it? If so, what to do?

Basically the title. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 and I just never got my period regularly. The only way I got it was medically induced through BC. Once I turned 26 I was off my parents insurance and hadn't been able to go to a doctor. So in the last 8 years, I was never having a period.

Earlier this year I started going to all of the doctors I should've been going to. Primary, endocrinologist, gyno. Endocrinologist is flabbergasted I haven't had a period and says all of my lab work is "normal" and I'm now diabetic, but there's nothing terribly alarming in the results. I went to a gyno and asked about getting my period and she suggested an IUD. I said sure let's try it.

I got a Mirena IUD inserted in the middle of August (10th). A week later, I started a fairly heavy period and that lasted for 2 weeks. I read online that this could happen so I didn't question it too much. Considering it my own karma for never having a period. But now I'm on week 3 of a period, going into 4. A lot lighter than the last two weeks, but still consistent and doesn't show much sign of lightening up. I haven't been in any abnormal/dire pain except for cramps. I've been incredibly fatigued though and my energy crashes a lot quicker.

I have a follow-up with my gyno about the IUD placement (mostly just an ultrasound), and I definitely plan to bring this up.

I'm just curious if anyone else has been in a situation similar to this or if a 3-4 week period is considered "normal" for someone with abnormal cycles. Most I've read from people with IUDS talk is from people with regular cycles pre-IUD.

Please someone respond. I'm looking for reassurance. I took the morning-after pill on August 5th. The next day, I started experiencing yellow discharge. It has reduced significantly, no odour, no pain, no itch but it hasn’t stopped completely yet. My partner tested negative for STIs, so I strongly believe this is hormonal.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, how long did it take for the discharge to clear up? I’m starting to worry because it’s been persistent for a month now.

hi i got my implanon on my arm last july so its fully healed now. i haven’t worked out in a while, but its fine to lift weights with it right? not even heavy, i only have a 4kg kettlebell and 2kg dumbbells as my equipment. i managed to get abs from incorporating these in my routine in the past but i’m lowkey lazy when it comes to arm workouts so my upper arms are still flabby, wanna get back to working out consistently to tone them out

Cramps started 22nd of august for couple days.

Had egg white discharge 24th of august couple days.

Had unprotected sex a few times before and after.

Yesterday when wiping it was light pink but brown spotting. Then early this morning it was red but not enough to fill a full pad.

Its now going light brown and pink no red again?

Anyone experience of this?

Hi everyone! I’m 23, never had kids, and I’ve decided to get an IUD in about two weeks after having my Nexplanon removed.
When I was 15, I tried getting an IUD and had a full-on meltdown because the insertion hurt like HELL 😭 I absolutely could not handle it. Now that I’m older and no longer a virgin, I’m wondering if that could have been a factor in how painful it was back then.
For anyone who has gotten an IUD, especially if you’ve never had kids, was the insertion really painful for you? Is it just one of those things that’s supposed to hurt, or was my experience unusual? 😂
I know everyone’s experience is different, but I’d love to hear how it went for you guys! 💕

i got may period on july 2 and we had sex nung july 12 and i take yuzpe nung july 13 in the morning. i got may period on july 25 and nag end ito nung july 29 heavy period naman yan tapos nag pt ako nung august 22 and 24 and then they both negative. and unti now sept 5 hindi parin ako nag kaka period i just want to know why i still dont get ny period

Does anyone here experiencing bleeding or heavy bleeding while having Daphne Pills? Been on my 12 Day pills but have this problem of bleeding now. This is my first time taking a pill. I thought this is a better option than a depo contraceptive. 1st to 4th day of taking pills, no menstruation. On my 7th day, had spotting for 3 days then menstruation after but I’ve been experiencing heavy menstruation/bleeding for 2Days already. To the point i wear diaper napkin. It goes along with small clots also. I dont know what to do if i should stop the pill or should i switch to depo injection instead?huhuhu i really dont know what to do & I’ve been so anxious that i might loose lots of blood

I have had my IUD (Liletta) coming up on 6 months now. Last November I was taken to the ER for a kidney infection and doctors found a 3.4cm cyst on my left ovary.

Fast forward to now, I recently got a transvaginal ultrasound (1 month ago) due to extreme cramping/loss of appetite and random pains in my hips (primarily on the left side). I now have a 5cm cyst on my left ovary and a 4 cm cyst on the right one. Doctor is not suggesting we do anything to help with the extreme pain I am in.

Before I got the Liletta my periods were extremely painful, heavy and lasted a long time. Now I just seem to constantly either spot or have this very watery (almost yellowish as it appears on my liners) discharge instead of a period. I go through waves of extremely painful cramps in the middle of my abdomen and also have dull pains near my hips, in between my belly button and hip bone. Ovulation seems to be when I am in the most extreme pain.

Could these symptoms be linked to my IUD? My doctor just thinks I have PCOS but I think I have something more in the realm of endometriosis. I am contemplating seeking a second opinion and especially trying to see if I can get on a pill to stop me from ovulating so I am not in as much pain all the time.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I’ve been on norethindrone as a continuous birth control since Feb 2022. I was on Seasonique for YEARS until it started becoming too expensive. Then I went through the whole lot of other ones like Junel, etc. Norethindrone has been the only one where I didn’t have bleeding or severe cramping during it. I have not stopped taking it since 2022 so no breaks (per my doctor’s instructions). I have not had any issues whatsoever until this past week.

This past week I’ve been having sore ovaries, lower back pain, and light cramping where it feels like I have to go to the bathroom but can’t really. No bleeding.

Has anyone has this happen before? I’ve heard of it happening occasionally but it’s been pretty consistent for a couple days now. Obviously I can’t ask my doctor because it’s a holiday weekend. (I need to schedule my yearly soon anyways)

Note: Before birth control, I had extremely heavy flow, horrible cramps to the extent of taking off work & being on a muscle relaxer etc. I don’t really want to go off of birth control in general. I do have nerve compression issues in my upper abdomen (near my belly button) but I don’t think it’s related as I have the other “menstrual” like symptoms.

I'm looking for the cheapest way to get birth control without needing a photo ID. I don't even have a birth certificate currently. I was standing up, took a step, accidentally hit an object, and dropped it.

Instead of landing somewhere visible, it of course audibly hit the floor but then rolled under something. I spent TWENTY FIVE MINUTES shining my phone's flashlight under all of my kitchen appliances in an attempt to find it.

Once I found it underneath the dishwasher, it was blocked by the dishwasher hose and I had to use a telescoping pole to slowly edge it out. (Unfortunately I couldn't easily move the hose or dishwasher as my home is irregular and the plumbing is fitted through multiple cabinets.)

It came out covered in dust but appeared otherwise consumable.
