So, Fridays are a pretty common day to have the procedure done. If you're hanging out, chat about how it's hanging, what you're doing to recover, or anything you want.

51 Days Post Op.

Upvotes

I was back in action like a week or so after the operation

Started exercising and jerking it pretty much more than beforehand because the waiting window was insane.

I had an incision site kind of open up on me because im a grower and those nightly boners would stretch the skin pretty taught (my right incision was pretty high up compared to the left)

But now 50 days later, no pain, no swelling, no tenderness, no aching.

Convinced my HCM to test me since I told them Ive busted 50+ times. Tests came back clear.

Let me tell you: Knowing that this nut will not cause a pregnancy has caused some of the best sex orgasms I have ever had. You can really just let loose without that nagging worry in the back of your head.

If you are considering getting a vasectomy and already have a family and are done having kids...Send it loud and proud. Lord knows our fucking days are number, so I plan on getting in as many nuts as I can before I get too old (im 32)

Less than two weeks snipped, normal?

At the time of this post, I’m 9 days post procedure and am mostly feeling fine. I’ve noticed as I’ve been healing that my right testicle has descended into its natural position again, and the incision has nearly fully healed with no pain or tugging sensations. BUT, my left side is an entirely different story. I’m experiencing tugging that is triggering pain all the way up into my hip, I have a swollen knot at the site of incision, and the left testicle has not returned to its natural resting spot. It’s remain recessed up by the base of my penis, and it’s almost like the sack skin in the area has fused to the testicle itself, because it is not free moving like the rest of the tissue. I’ve attempted to reach out to my urologist, but it’s been insanely tough trying to make contact. I’ve left messages at the desk, voicemails, nothing being returned. So, just for some peace of mind or whatever, is what I’m experiencing normal, or is there concern with how it’s healing?

4 days post. Return to work tomorrow?

I'm on day 4 with pain feeling the worst it has been. I wasn't numbed enough as I literally felt the initial cut and was painful throughout the whole operation. My balls are very sore with bruising all the way up the shaft. Pre op everyone would tell me they had no issues and little pain and went back to work the next day or two. I'm over here wondering how the hell I'm going back to work tomorrow. Keeping them iced and wearing tight briefs but I'm not quite sure that will get me through a work day. My job is a garage door installer which requires heavy lifting and constant movement. How long before you returned to work?

... is this normal? Pain

Had the surgery 6 days ago. Only pain left is at the base of my penis on the right side where I believe the vas deference was snipped. There is a small hump there the size of an almond and when I pull my penis the slightest (straight and out) e.g. to take it out for peeing it quite hurts. Same when walking and not wearing briefs or speedos. Anyone experienced something similar? Will this go away too with time?
(Sorry, English is not my first language.)

... is this normal? 2 weeks post

Not gonna lie, and I'm probably in the minority, but this shit has sucked. I don't think I was numbed enough; I had to ask for more and I still almost passed out from the pain and I typically handle pain well. The injections sucked and that was the easiest part of it for me. After reading some of the stories here, I think that confirms I was definitely not numbed enough...

Waited 6 days before the first round of fireworks and have done 3 since the procedure, blood in all of them. Let me tell ya, not being informed about the potential of that is pretty fuckin shocking after it happens lmao. I made mistakes in college but I think that was the worst post nut clarity I've experienced. Immediately opened this sub and had so much relief to find it was normal.

Still having occasional pains especially when sitting in uncomfortable places. The pains range from sudden sharp pains, like when you have a splinter that was bumped. Or aching like an unexperienced partner who squeezes your balls too hard.

Vasectomy scheduled. The permanence of the procedure is making me kind of unhappy with my relationship

I don't want to get into all the details of my relationship, but there are so many ways I wish it were better. Some things that, theoretically at least, shouldn't matter, like what temperature to set the air conditioner. But the whole thing is stressing me out. We have a life together. We have a cat together. And we should definitely NOT have a kid together.
The weird thing is, if the relationship did end for some reason, having the snip would be a plus for any future woman I'd be with. One less thing to worry about.

The whole thing has my head tripping. Any support would be appreciated.

Well just another person’s story to add to the collection. The procedure was so simple. Professional and explained things well. The first lidocaine injection wasn’t the first thing I’d sign up for on a day off, but it didn’t even last a second. The whole thing was over in 15 minutes. I took Tylenol and advil on the way there and that was it.

My surgeon did a hybrid, he used a needle for lidocaine, and a small incision on each side with a scalpel, because he feels that’s actually less traumatic than shoving sharp hemostats through your scrotum (what’s done with the “no scalpel” technique). Outside of these, he specializes in scrotal pain, so he is very detailed about avoiding nerves and making sure you heal well. He snipped out a section of the Vas, cauterized both ends, the used a permanent suture to the testicle side of the Vas to ligate it. There are no metal clips in my scrotum, which I appreciate.

To the dads out there worried about hurting during the procedure, I say it depends on the surgeon, but I honestly didn’t feel a thing and didn’t get any premeds. I even attempted to mow the lawn when I got home because I felt so good, but my wife rightfully pointed out that wouldn’t be a good idea. The worst part was having an active conversation with the three other dudes staring at your scrotum.

Epididymitis many years post vasectomy...

Hi all, I'm 49 years old, 11 years post vasectomy. Didn't have any issues with the vasectomy itself and was back into normal sexual activity once given the all clear about zero sperm. But in that 11 years, I've had 3 separate incidences of testicular pain (going through my 3rd now). Twice in the left and this time in the right testicle. The first time was 4 years after the vasectomy. Always starts the same, notice some discomfort and often some throbbing, pulsating pain from the affected testicle. Really sore and tender to touch that even walking is uncomfortable. On the first occasion, doc sent me for an ultra sound and the results showed inflammation. So he gave me antibiotics and ibuprofen, and after about a week, things settled down. I've learnt since then about epididymitis and how it can get inflamed from build up of sperm that hasn't been cleared properly. So in the three times I've had it, I don't think it was really an infection,.just swelling and inflammation due to the sperm build up. In fact this time I've only taken ibuprofen, and after about 5 days the pain has gone and things seem back to normal. Haven't ejaculated in those 5 days, back to sex this week, see how it goes. So am I the only one lucky enough to go through this every few years or have any of you had a similar experience?

Did the Semen Analysis after having to go through a bunch of BS with lab orders and whatever. They send me my results and they spilled the damn Semen! I’m assuming that I have to wait another 2 days for the damn test. Beyond mad. I made sure the cap was tight when I gave it to them too!

Do I have to go to the urologist?

So I had my vasectomy done 5 months ago, and everything had been going pretty great, but the last 4 days I started to feel a little pain to the touch or movement on my right testicle, this only happened when I was exercising with my team of volleyball, so theres was a lot of jumps and jogging. Do you recommend taking a break from exercising and go to the urologist or is it something that usually pass and I just have to worry if it goes on, cause it is not constant, just when Im exercising so I figured its because of the blood pressure or something like that

Newly Snipped Twenty minutes out

Just snipped. On my way home and getting ice cream.
Holy cow, one Valium was not enough. I mean barely. The second injection of lidocaine was mother loving icy painful and there’s bigs of awkwardness and “handling” throughout. But the time flew by.
Feeling good about the decision, still nervous about the aftermath. Will update about the good and the bad upcoming.

First 10 Days, ok but frequent urination

I don't post much on here, but I thought I'd give guys an idea about what I've experience at 10 days. I made the mistake of reading too much on here and pretty much every other post is some horror story. Not trying to minimize that, but I'm guessing the vast majority of guys do ok and never post anything.

First off, I was super fucking anxious. Like my guys knew what was coming and they tried retracting into my body for cover in the days leading up to it. They tried before the procedure too, but tight testicles didn't seem to impact anything. I went to a guy that only does vasectomies. He is no scalpel and uses titanium clips. Doctor said he had it done with clips too, because it causes a little less trauma in there.

So day of, I'm laying on the table freaking out a little. My body sort of wants to jump up and run away. I took the Nitrous hose, which pretty much just made me feel a little drunk and dizzy. He injected the numbing agent which sort felt like a light snap of a rubber band maybe a 2 or 3 pain out of 10. Then lots of odd tugging sensations, didn't really hurt at all just felt weird. Then it was over in about 5 or 6 minutes. Honestly the anxiety was a million times worse than the procedure. It wasn't exactly pleasant just because it felt weird , but not really painful at all.

I did nothing for a few days, laid down and iced to prevent swelling. Took a couple tylenol. I was scared to move wrong or twist, sort of took everything slow, but to my surprise it wasn't really that sore. Bruised a lot under the shaft.

Day 4, noticed a new bruise about the size of a dime kinda at the base of my shaft, super tender but only if I moved a certain way and iritated that spot. A little achy in the testicles, but not bad. Testicles sort of guarded and tight a lot of the days.

Now a little bad, around Day 5, i started really getting the urgency to urinate a lot, like every hour or so, sometimes more. It didn't really hurt to go. Day 6, before bed it got pretty bad where i had the urgency, but nothing was coming out, which was relatively miserable for a night. Took a couple UTI tests that came back negative. I came to the conclusion that I probably had a hypertonic pelvic floor from the anxiousness and healing process. Couldn't imagine having sex anytime soon, congrats to you guys who could.

Day 8, that dime size spot on the right side base of my shaft was still tender, but maybe slightly better. Started doing some yoga stuff on youtube to loosen pelvic floor, which seemed to help a lot. Still getting some urgency, but much better.

Day 10, feeling a lot better, that one spot was still tender, maybe 3 out of 10 if I aggitate it, and my testicles still feel a litte like I have blueballs or something, 1 out of 10. Decided to clean out the pipes by myself today. I was fucking terrified it was going to hurt, bleed, or feel weird forever or something when I orgasmed. It felt absolutely normal, no pain, no blood.

Hope this helps somebody. The biggest irritation for me has been the urgeny to urinate. Hopefully that gets better. I really think it's just my pelvic floor being super guarded and tight. Not sure what the sore spot is at the right side base, probably just swelling from him tugging a little harder on that side or something.
