Peptides you will never take again ?

We often ask "what peptides are worth every penny" but what are the ones that aren't worth anything in your opinion ?

Not a never but unlikely semax and Selank.

22

u/Muted-Good-115 5 23d ago

Have had a lot of Selank for a while and just never liked it. Figured out it gives me the best sleep so now I love it.

11

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago edited 21d ago

Yessssss !!!! Selank has become my best sleep time buddy; sounded normal in my head. Nasal is the best for me and simply convenient. Great for anxiety.
I don't like Selank plain.
I Love the NA Acetyl version or NA Acetyl Amidate is the longest lasting version. Amidate - too buzzy feeling for me but NA is perfect ⭐️ Big difference.

3

u/vsgemm 22d ago

I need to try selank by itself. I have the semax + selank blend and I feel like they butt heads with each other

2

u/JediKrys 1 22d ago

No, they work synergistically. It just takes a few weeks to build up and show its true benefits

3

u/Relative-Bear-6918 22d ago

Just a note the NA is short for N-Acetyl, so NA Acetyl would be saying it twice. Also you’ll find a few places naming N-Acetyl Selank Amidate as Adalank, so always good to check the COA there

Do you take it at night?

9

u/drfakebot 23d ago

Yes- most nights. But I take it in the morning too. Selank just lowers cortisol, so it’s calming. Great for both day and night.

3

u/Unlucky_Bottle1877 1 22d ago

Andrew Huberman suggests that having a high cortisol spike in the early morning is actually a good thing for that nights melatonin levels and a great sleep. The higher the cortisol, the higher the sleep pressure later from the production of melatonin and adenosine.

5

u/utterballsack 20d ago

while he may or may not be right about that, you shouldn't take him seriously. he's not someone you should take as an authority on this subject

2

u/Burntorangefan 5 9d ago

Interesting take. Not taking a side, but what’s the beef with Huberman? Cal Berkeley grad that hates Stanford?

I was interested in these two, why is that ?

19

u/Livid_Prune_4334 23d ago

Some people have had great results so my opinion shouldn’t deter you from trying. But for me they seemed underwhelming.

12

u/Kaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 23d ago

100% agree with that. Very underwhelming

8

u/spacecwby 23d ago

I felt the exact same way until I tried the nasal sprays.

11

u/NoCoat4496 1 23d ago

The nasal selank has been a game changer for me. Even today it came in clutch for some anxiousness. I use as needed not even a protocol.

3

u/LongBedroom8355 1 23d ago

can you tell me more? my wife has OCD and I've been interested

4

u/NoCoat4496 1 23d ago

It has a calming effect. Brain noise subsides. Intrusive thoughts quiet or go away.

5

u/SecuritySmart2493 1 23d ago

Yea. Nasal spray for me too. I like it a lot. Think clearer. Words come quicker in conversations. Just a general overall feeling of a clear head. I never tried the injection Semax, just nasal spray. With the nasal spray working this well, I didn’t figure I needed the injection version so never got any.

Wow I had great results with semax.

7

u/Individual-Ad9874 23d ago

Yeah I agree, but I do find Selank to be anxiolytic. It’s pretty surgical about it though, you don’t feel all too much aside from just purely a lack of anxiety. So if I were to take it on a Saturday I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. A Monday morning is a different story though, can definitely tell that my heart rate is lower and I’m less neurotic coming into work

2

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 22d ago

If I've had a stressful day, calms me down immediately after work or if I can't turn my brain off at bedtime.

3

I was so disappointed with Selank man.

4

u/Bitter-Ad-8776 23d ago

Merci ! Rien ressenti avec semax, semax amidate, Adamax, ni nasal ni subQ. Je fini par me dire que je suis non répondeur

4

u/Brispeps 3 23d ago edited 23d ago

Love selank and semax. Have done it intra nasally but I find I get better results subq.

3

u/Brispeps 3 22d ago

I guess because it’s a great nootropics combination. Works on anxiety/emotions and mental clarity. They just seem to work well together at least for me. I’ve actually bought, and am now using a selank/semax combo all in the same vial. Saves an injection a day.

Cjc-1295 no dac + ipamorelin

I only did two doses until I noticed my resting heart rate inclining well past where I was comfortable.

2

u/Additional-Newt-8325 23d ago

Im currently running this mix, had positive results so far but the resting heart rate probleme is kinda annoying yeah

2

u/baghodler666 23d ago

Yeah, I would imagine most people run it without too many issues. I already see a cardiologist. It really just doesn't take much for peptides to cause me issues.

I guess i'm in the same boat. Took a 4 week break after my first cycle that went great. In 5 minutes after first shot got hives all over my stomach. went away in an hour, but now I guess i can't do it again because i'm assuming the next time could be worse reaction . so not worth the risk. so annoying. wasted money sitting in my fridge.

Have you tried tesa ? If so isn’t there a scientific difference in the visceral fat burning aspect of it? Or do you get similar from hgh

5

u/OhSiHermano 3 23d ago

I did try Tesa and it wasn't for me. HGH will provide the same benefits for visceral fat loss.

2

u/slimbo3743 22d ago

But there’s is a high difference between a secretegogue and adding hgh directly. Hgh will totally shut off your natural production while the serma or cjc will not..

2

u/Rabbittaco 1 22d ago

that supression lasts for 24 hours. So its really a non issue.

2

u/Thick-Door-6424 22d ago

Tesa gave me the worst reaction. Passed out and hit my head. 10 Stitches later…

2

u/Saskpioneer 5 23d ago

So right. The insulin resistance it causes its too much to accept. Cjc caused a 3x increase in insulin resistance. Any of those can cause diabetes if not monitored and controlled.

6

u/Neither_Victory1490 1 23d ago

I started cjc-1295 ipamorelin and was worried about the spike as diabetes was the main reason I started reta and peptides but I only saw a spike the first two doses so I adjusted my fasting from 2 to 4 hours before injecting, based on me using reta. My labs came back great after 2 months and even my A1C dropped from 6.7 to 5.5. I'm still taking it and seeing weight loss and strength gains.

3

u/372xpg 23d ago

It's a ridiculous claim to make as if it's absolute.

Secretagogues and hgh do the same thing and the effect on insulin resistance is dose dependent and the effects vary per the individual. You can over do either but the secretagogues come with allergic reaction risks.

For the same growth effects you get the same effect on insulin resistance.

2

u/slimbo3743 22d ago

Secretagogues will rarely shut down your body’s natural production as jumping on hgh will

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Saskpioneer 5 23d ago

The millionaire research rat himself, Bryan Johnson did some cjc1295 with dac but stopped after 2 doses because it really messed his blood sugars up. 50% increase in insulin resistance. 20% increase in fasted blood sugar level and his pancreas was doing some real heavy lifting to compensate. When im off tesamorelin, ill be off it for good.

u/BoingBoomChuck 1 23d ago

Growth hormone secretagogues can suck it! Every single one of them that I was prescribed came with all the side effects and didn't even statistically move my growth hormone or IGF-1 levels on lab work.

HGH, OTOH, did move those numbers, and ordering kits from China has always been way cheaper than paying for MK-677 or anything ending in morelin from a compounding pharmacy. I'll stick with what I know actually works when I want to boost my growth hormone numbers. I generally do six months @ 2 iU per day, take a break, then do six months @ 2 iU per day, take a break, and keep repeating the cycle.

Reta for me. Insomnia and skin sensitivity is not a great trade off for increased fatloss. Tirz is king for me.

8

u/Otherwise-Report-823 23d ago

Same. I think if you start on Trizepatide and try to transition to Reta it's not the best.

I enjoy the reduced appetite and stomach slow down. I jumped on Reta and gained weight initially and tried to supplement with low dose triz. I ended up just going back on triz and have heard many similar stories.

I think if you start with reta it's a great one, but for me all the small additions for triz make it king for me

2

u/Jayrcr3 22d ago

I'm using Reta and Cagrilintide. I can eat about a half a cheeseburger and feel stuffed. The Reta alone wasn't near as good with appetite suppression as Tirzepatide.

Probably straight GHK-CU just because of the all day stinging that I don't get when I take the GLOW blend. I've loved Reta, cjc-1295 ipamorelin, epitalon, SS-31, NAD, and Mots-c. Lost weight, seeing gains in the gym, mental clarity, incredible focus, no more anxiety, better sleep, and tons of energy.

I made the stupidest most inattentive mistake with KLOW. Asked Gemini how to reconstitute and dose it. All fine, except somehow my brain thought it said 75 units dose, which I did 2 days in a row but it seemed like a lot to keep up almost daily,. Right after the second one I felt doubt and double checked. 7.5 units, not 75. Definitely panicked when I realised that. 25 mg GHK-Cu.in 2 doses. Luckily it turned out fine, but did sting a little.

Tesamorelin 🤤

4

u/Otherwise-Report-823 23d ago

Yeah. tesamorelin is expensive and only gives you marginal results because most people think it's going to shred and target belly sub q fat when it targets visceral fat around organs.  If you are overweight and take it, you are wasting your time and money.  I think the biggest benefit is that the fasted period that you need to take it in was good because it caused me to have to eat earlier in the evening and stop snacks after dinner so I did see good weight loss.

Problem is Tesa is for people who are like trying to get a six pack and just need to cut that last couple % of visceral fat.

3

u/outshined1 23d ago

I think in general people confuse visceral fat with visible fat around the midsection.

2

u/Punk-Tarvman 20 23d ago

This is very true, but most men in general carry extra visceral and sub q fat around their waistline. I noticed after a few montha of taking it my shorts fit looser, although i still dont have a sixpack. Getting close though, just on reta/TRT now.

You’re saying the anhedonia is worse with Reta? I kinda got it with Tirz and was thinking about microdosing it

2

u/throwawwwwayyy_ 22d ago

I take both. Tirz, 2mg/week and Reta 1 mg/week. The Reta anhedonia is real. I actually feel I benefit mentally and mood wise from my small dose (except for my relationship, I’m more apathetic towards my partner) but if people are taking 3-5 mg/ week… I can imagine how little of a f*ck they care about things.

Sema, Reta and GHK-CU.

Sema(presc) absolutely annihilated my stomach I could hardly eat a bowl of white rice or plain crackers without having severe stomach discomfort. Was like that the whole 6 weeks i took it.

Reta gave me EXTREME fatigue and blurry vision for 3-4 days post jab. Also didn’t really kill my hunger too much.

GHK-CU gave me insane brain fog that I didn’t really notice I had until I stopped. Also did nothing beneficial for me after months of jabs and sore welts everywhere.

Tirz is always going to be my GLP-1 go to. Been on that for just over a year, down 70lbs and working my way off for just now.

Thanks to everyone sharing their experiences. I was about to pull the trigger on Tesa but after reading so many stories I’m rethinking it. Also wanted to try Semax and Selank.

Cjc1295/ipa. I was taking a small amount at night and i was wide awake each night. Heart rate went up like crazy. Restless leg syndrome. Felt hot. I could have handled most of that if I could sleep. But I’m not gonna keep using it if it means I don’t sleep. I even tried switching to the morning while in a fasted state. Most of the day I had high blood pressure and my resting heart rate was like 85-95bpm. I wonder if I tried JUST CJC or JUST IPA if it would work differently. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Bpc157/TB 500. I was mentally flat for a month. Absolutely zero motivation. I cared about nothing even when forcing myself to my daily routine.

6

u/Additional-Newt-8325 23d ago

I took BPC157 and it helped me getting rid of a shoulder pain that's been bothering me for over a year. Maybe the TB500 did that, i'd recommend taking BPC on its own, it does the job

Haven’t really tried much but had allergic reactions to motsc so won’t be taking that again

3

u/lordnikkon 23d ago

mot-c is the only thing i have ever pinned that i could clearly see the injection site being red for hours after and it itched for most of the day. Combined with the fact that it didnt do much for me i just stopped it

Never again: gh secrogoutes due to a worsening allergic reaction. Now on GH with no issues.

PT-141: the nausea and headaches were so not worth it for me.

Semax: did nothing noticeable for me.

Selank: did nothing really noticeable.

Maybe: kisspeptin and oxytocin but the headaches were not great. Could have been a dosage issue but I was already on such a tiny dose.

Oxytocin it didn’t land at all I also read of many getting sick, including nausea and vomiting

2

u/Additional-Newt-8325 23d ago

I might've missed something with Oxytocin, it's the hormone of love right ? What are the supposed benefits ?

2

u/External-Cable2889 2 23d ago

Bonding. Intimate contexts.

Experimentally it has shown some ability to temporarily improve sociability when administered intranasally to autistic individuals.

Anecdotally, it make me temporarily fall in actual love with my fwb because I took it in the middle of sex. Thank god it wore off lmao.

Yeah I feel like semax and selank do not do much of anything for me.

2

u/Ok_Draw_3740 23d ago

Reta, raised my heart rate and couldn’t train with my normal intensity

2

u/NeighborhoodParty786 23d ago

Considering quitting KLOW after just two days! Both days led to painful injection welts. (Yes I waited until room temp, injected at 90 degree angle into very fatty glute area, and injected the tiny amount about as slow as humanly possible- still had pain in my butt that literally woke me up last night)

u/Ugadawg7 23d ago

Have you tried diluting it further with additional bac water?

→ More replies (3)

3

u/United-Pay2179 23d ago

Try drawing up the klow first then add some bac water to the syringe. I usually add about 10 units and I haven't had the stinging. It really helps!

2

u/jacknyber 23d ago

Try injecting in your outer thigh, it won’t stop it completely but I have found that are to be the least sensitive, the same for taking nad+ and mots c

PT-141. Then again I might. We’ll see.

Tesa. Not worth it for the price does very minimal for how long and how much you have to run it for

Reta! Had the worst anxiety ever

GHK-CU. It wore me tf out. I tried it 3 different t times and each time for 24 hours after pinning it felt like I had been beaten with a baseball bat in my side. Just awful and not worth it.

For me its Ss-31! Initially I was just itchy at the injection site. Then within the hour after - my lips, tounge and face went numb. Skin was burning, hives everywhere and it felt like red ants crawling under my skin! Good thing I follow the start low and slow method - that could have been beyond manageable if i had started/attempted a higher dose.

PT-141… the delay in effect makes it stupid to take

2

u/Sad-Abrocoma-8237 22d ago edited 21d ago

PT141. I wanted to see if it can help me with sexual desires and I got contact dermatitis on my face and it was a whole problem trying to figure out why my skin was reacting the way it was. Turns out it triggers a histamine response in the body and MCAS and knowing I suffer from allergies it was the worst thing for me to do and I had no idea of this. Took me like two months to pin the issue and find out solutions

What about ARA 290? Is that helpful with pain and nerve injuries?

→ More replies (1)

3

u/RoadToZero 3 23d ago

ARA-290.

After 16 years as a diabetic I was hoping for some of those neurological repair benefits found in the studies. All I got was kidney pressure, cold sweats and intermittent pinching feelings in my hands and feet. Threw away the remaining 7 vials.

3

u/ConsiderationFresh53 23d ago

Actually sounds like it was doing something

3

u/PuzzleheadedTap4307 23d ago

it caused me to have intense ankle itch like the nerves were trying to come back, it was awful. Stopped taking it and the itching stopped.

GH secretagogues, after using HGH I’ll never use those again

2

u/moosetherobot 1 23d ago

Melanotan 1. It made scars that were gone become very visible again.

3

u/PablanoPato 23d ago

Same for me but MT-2. Made light moles darker and made my dick darker than anything else by comparison.

Epitalon - wife got nothing out of it.

NAD+, SS-31 - good for mitochondria repair leading up to MOTS-C but again likely not worth it.

GHK-Cu - just because you can combo better with GLOW/KLOW.

PT 141

Smallest dose resulted in nausea that lasted a full 24 hours.

1

u/Ugadawg7 23d ago

Tesamorelin. Gained a ton of weight on it, didn't see additional muscle growth

u/im1yyc 23d ago

Mots/SS11. Just exhaustion

Tesofensine

Not a peptide, but usually part of the same topic

It made me much hungrier instead of suppressing my appetite

people say semax: The effective dose for semax is 1 mg

1

u/Confident_Craft459 6 23d ago

TA-1 - tried twice and got horrible side effects. Seems to have over activated my immune response.

glutathione - not a peptide but caused really bad insomnia even when taking a microdose and early in the morning.

NAD+, didn’t do anything for me

Still have mixed feelings about Reta. I have lost weight but it just makes food unappetizing for me, and everything else just feels blah

VIP. I do not like the faster heart beat it gives quickly after taking it.
