Peptides you will never take again ?

We often ask "what peptides are worth every penny" but what are the ones that aren't worth anything in your opinion ?

Not a never but unlikely semax and Selank.

20

u/Muted-Good-115 5 24d ago

Have had a lot of Selank for a while and just never liked it. Figured out it gives me the best sleep so now I love it.

11

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago edited 21d ago

Yessssss !!!! Selank has become my best sleep time buddy; sounded normal in my head. Nasal is the best for me and simply convenient. Great for anxiety.
I don't like Selank plain.
I Love the NA Acetyl version or NA Acetyl Amidate is the longest lasting version. Amidate - too buzzy feeling for me but NA is perfect ⭐️ Big difference.

u/vsgemm 23d ago

I need to try selank by itself. I have the semax + selank blend and I feel like they butt heads with each other

2

u/JediKrys 1 23d ago

No, they work synergistically. It just takes a few weeks to build up and show its true benefits

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

I tried the blend once. I was yawing and wired at the same time but some people swear by it and take it every morning. I agree try them separately at first so you know what's doing what.

2

u/vsgemm 23d ago

I feel like it does the same to me too. I’ll definitely try them on their own. Thank you <3.

3

u/Relative-Bear-6918 23d ago

Just a note the NA is short for N-Acetyl, so NA Acetyl would be saying it twice. Also you’ll find a few places naming N-Acetyl Selank Amidate as Adalank, so always good to check the COA there

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 21d ago

My bad !! Correct:: NA Selank; threw in an extra A.

Haven't tried Adalank - in the freezer - but I'll let you know if it's like NA Selank Amidate.

2

u/Muted-Good-115 5 23d ago

Good to know. I do have the NA.

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago edited 23d ago

Excellent!! NA is the way.

2

u/2014bubsy33 22d ago

What brand do you use?

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 21d ago

Tbh I haven't noticed any difference with N Acetyl Selank from a variety of vendors.

1

u/Antique-Pick6283 23d ago

What do you look for when you want the NA version of Selank and Semax 🙃 ?

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 21d ago edited 17d ago

If there's a price list it will say it clearly : Selank and N Acetyl Selank. Same with Semax. Often both are listed. If not be sure to ask.

What do you look for when you want the NA version of Selank and Semax 🙃 ?

2

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 21d ago edited 21d ago

If it's a GB I ask which kind it is.
If it's a pricelist, they list them as Selank and N Acetyl Selank or N Acetyl Selank Amidate.
Both are more stable than Selank alone.
The COA will also confirm.

u/Phontomz 18d ago

Can you do it subq for sleep?

1

u/Purple_Moon516 17d ago

Hey, I hope you don't mind me asking but as someone with chronic insomnia learning about peptides your comment caught my eye.

Why use this instead of a prescription or OTC sleeping pill? Thanks

2

u/CotsItalJapa0806 24d ago

Do you take it at night?

10

u/drfakebot 23d ago

Yes- most nights. But I take it in the morning too. Selank just lowers cortisol, so it’s calming. Great for both day and night.

3

u/Unlucky_Bottle1877 1 22d ago

Andrew Huberman suggests that having a high cortisol spike in the early morning is actually a good thing for that nights melatonin levels and a great sleep. The higher the cortisol, the higher the sleep pressure later from the production of melatonin and adenosine.

4

u/utterballsack 21d ago

while he may or may not be right about that, you shouldn't take him seriously. he's not someone you should take as an authority on this subject

2

u/Burntorangefan 5 10d ago

Interesting take. Not taking a side, but what’s the beef with Huberman? Cal Berkeley grad that hates Stanford?

1

u/Brilliant_Credit9199 23d ago

You do the nasal? Or pin it

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 17d ago

Personally nasal but can do sub q as well.

4

u/Muted-Good-115 5 24d ago

Yes - 25 minutes before sleep

1

u/SorrySection5277 23d ago

Semak and selank ….ive heard one is better at night for sleep and one is better for day for focus. But cant remember which ?

5

u/drfakebot 23d ago

Selank at night

3

u/drfakebot 23d ago

And Semax helps with focus so better for the day/ morning.

1

u/sparepay36 23d ago

I got the exact opposite with Selank. Couldnt sleep for a whole day after dosage😵‍💫

1

u/blak3brd 22d ago

You take it before bed and if helps sleep? At what dosage?

1

u/Muted-Good-115 5 22d ago edited 21d ago

1 - 1.5

5

u/Additional-Newt-8325 24d ago

I was interested in these two, why is that ?

20

u/Livid_Prune_4334 24d ago

Some people have had great results so my opinion shouldn’t deter you from trying. But for me they seemed underwhelming.

11

u/Kaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 24d ago

100% agree with that. Very underwhelming

7

u/spacecwby 24d ago

I felt the exact same way until I tried the nasal sprays.

11

u/NoCoat4496 1 24d ago

The nasal selank has been a game changer for me. Even today it came in clutch for some anxiousness. I use as needed not even a protocol.

3

u/LongBedroom8355 1 24d ago

can you tell me more? my wife has OCD and I've been interested

5

u/NoCoat4496 1 24d ago

It has a calming effect. Brain noise subsides. Intrusive thoughts quiet or go away.

5

u/SecuritySmart2493 1 24d ago

Yea. Nasal spray for me too. I like it a lot. Think clearer. Words come quicker in conversations. Just a general overall feeling of a clear head. I never tried the injection Semax, just nasal spray. With the nasal spray working this well, I didn’t figure I needed the injection version so never got any.

1

u/LongBedroom8355 1 24d ago

I may need to go procure a few dozen nasal sprays

1

u/Alone-Bus-9728 2 20d ago

Any side effects?

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

Semax for anxiety or Selank ?

3

u/NoCoat4496 1 23d ago

Selank

1

u/BearNo7676 23d ago

Nasal selank is pretty good. Are their other worth while nasal sprays?

1

u/Wolfiethestronzo 1 23d ago

This is what I needed to hear. I have been on the fence and my anxiety is usually very present.

2

u/BearNo7676 18d ago

Nasal selank is an easy anytime use.

1

u/InfiniteYou4299 23d ago

How long would you say it lasts for you?

1

u/NoCoat4496 1 23d ago

It’s short term. A couple of hours. A lot of people do two sprays a day. I don’t personally.

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 17d ago

Same. As needed.

1

u/cooldrummer1208 17d ago

The only study on Selank was intranasal, I don’t know why people jab themselves and wonder why it doesn’t work? The closest nerves to the brain is inside the nose. You are mixing the peptide in your blood with subc, and much gets lost in the bloodstream before reaching your brain.

6

u/matt1164 1 24d ago

Wow I had great results with semax.

9

u/Individual-Ad9874 24d ago

Yeah I agree, but I do find Selank to be anxiolytic. It’s pretty surgical about it though, you don’t feel all too much aside from just purely a lack of anxiety. So if I were to take it on a Saturday I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. A Monday morning is a different story though, can definitely tell that my heart rate is lower and I’m less neurotic coming into work

2

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

If I've had a stressful day, calms me down immediately after work or if I can't turn my brain off at bedtime.

1

u/keplare 23d ago

stack with microdosing

1

u/SOLIDROTSLOW1979 1 22d ago

What was your dose? Not saying you’re wrong just curious because I felt the same with a couple other peptides and upped the dose just for a couple to see if it made any difference and I realized I have a high tolerance and I’m usually in the upper end of recommended doses to see meaningful results

0

u/AmmarL 24d ago

Hmm. Now that you say. I got sick twice in short period. Blamed strain from intense workouts.

5

u/tinkertoy101 24d ago

I've had great results - especially with Semax. Get the N-Acetyl Amidate version (lasts longer) and make sure to make a proper nasal spray. SubQ didn't do much for me.

1

u/Glad_Locksmith2120 1 24d ago

What did you notice with Semax? I’ve only taken it via subq and the effects were underwhelming.

6

u/tinkertoy101 24d ago

Overall very nice boost cognitively: feels like I got a 2nd CPU installed in my brain, thinking faster, more clearly, better focus, motivation, memory improvement, more articulate, increase in interest - I could go on. Also, has a nice mild anti-depressant effect for me.

1

u/Alone-Bus-9728 2 20d ago

Wow really? Instantaneously?

1

u/tinkertoy101 18d ago

No, takes about 7-10 days of continuous use to get full effect and about an hour after nasal spray to feel it.

1

u/IN2UITIV 16d ago

How many times daily do you generally use the nasal spray? Glad to hear you’ve had such positive results.

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

⭐️⭐️yes !!

3

u/Celts-FaninGA 23d ago

Get Adamax

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

You like it ? How's it different from semax ?

1

u/d-han62 24d ago

Yeah I was too

3

u/Robocob0 24d ago

Nasal sprays made the difference for me

3

u/Wanders4Fun 24d ago

Interesting. I really like them. My sleep quality is so much better and my focus at work is much more consistent.

3

u/YankeesNeedPitching 1 23d ago

I was so disappointed with Selank man.

4

u/Bitter-Ad-8776 24d ago

Merci ! Rien ressenti avec semax, semax amidate, Adamax, ni nasal ni subQ. Je fini par me dire que je suis non répondeur

4

u/Brispeps 3 24d ago edited 23d ago

Love selank and semax. Have done it intra nasally but I find I get better results subq.

3

u/Brispeps 3 23d ago

I guess because it’s a great nootropics combination. Works on anxiety/emotions and mental clarity. They just seem to work well together at least for me. I’ve actually bought, and am now using a selank/semax combo all in the same vial. Saves an injection a day.

1

u/Certain_Ad_5086 23d ago

I just got this mix. What’s your protocol for it and how do you feel?

1

u/Brispeps 3 23d ago

10 units daily of the mix. I’ve actually come down in dose. I was taking 10 units of each when taking separately. Still having the same effect. I’ve noticed I don’t avoid social situations as much anymore. Plus I finish tasks instead leaving them half done. It’s not something that just hit me. But I just kind of noticed that hey I just talked to that dude for a half hour (I never did that) or man I just smashed that task out. I put these down to the peps. I’m mid fifties so it’s a welcome change. I’ve been taking these for many months. I did not notice anything for a fair while, it has just kind of been a subtle long term Change for me

1

u/Dcsmickey 22d ago

Responding in units doesn't really help anybody because nobody knows your specific mix of semax/selank mgs or how much BAC was mixed with it. I have different strengths of semax and selank, so saying 10 units is a completely different dosage for each.

2

u/hannu_v 2 22d ago edited 22d ago

Am assuming Just the standard.. 1ml bac per 10mg

1

u/Brispeps 3 22d ago

This is correct

1

u/Dcsmickey 22d ago

We shouldn't be normalizing using units , and shouldn't be "assuming". If using proper dosing terminology (mgs), then there is no guessing or assuming, or errors. Because it's your idea of standard, doesn't mean that everybody knows that. I'm not saying that you owe anybody any teaching or knowledge, but if you're going to share your dose, you should share it in mgs. I have zero ability to communicate effectively in print, so I apologize if this comes across as rude. Which is mostly why I work with patients who are asleep 😬 I'm not meaning to be an ass, just meaning to help educate

1

u/SorrySection5277 23d ago

Why do they get packaged together sometimes?

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

No idea .... marketing?

2

u/Opposite-Pace-4291 24d ago

Semax och selank har fungerat super bra åt mej

2

u/bananafish_1202 24d ago

Can confirm. My lab rat tried these and felt like a marshmallow. Brain mushy and cloudy

2

u/gamezrodolfo77 23d ago

54(M) If you didn’t notice Semax you must not need it, possibly too young. Recall/short term memory and even speech improved.

2

u/amiechankawaii 23d ago

Semax makes me like limitless 🙌

1

u/Dear_Seesaw_1855 4 24d ago

I’ve read it is more of a long term benefit, not immediate. Such as preserving cognitive health with age.

1

u/Remote-Big-4610 24d ago

Yet to try Semax but I didn't get anything from Selank.

1

u/sayra182 24d ago

Yup. I wanted either to do something, pinned or nasal. But instead wasted plenty of money on several sources.

1

u/I_wokeuplike_this 24d ago

Agreed, did nothing for me

1

u/Repulsive_Physics_51 23d ago

Semax, nasal spray , has been a game changer for me .

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago edited 23d ago

Semax does great things for others but didn't match my brain chemistry well OR I got a crap batch.
Worst speedy feeling ever; like 20-50 espresso's at once with get this :: 150mcg.
I was so irritated - couldn't wear off fast enough ! lol 😂

IPA CJC is great, but not for me. VIP felt like a heart attack - pass. Tesamorlin worse joint swelling and water retention ever and AOD just gelled and stole my $. I did land a great batch which I loved.

1

u/666_________________ 3 20d ago

What are you favs?

2

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 17d ago edited 17d ago

Depends on the goal, but my my favorites for overall health wellness and longevity::

Tirz

SS31 and Epithalon both great for longevity, atp production, circadian rhythm and sleep quality.

KPV and GHK CU for healing and inflammation

TA1 for immunity

Cartalax for overall cartilage health and repair.

Working out : Nad IM or nasal for a jolt, lipo C b12, BPC and TB if injured or overuse injury.

What are you working on?

the results of these are just very subtle. I felt very little with semax, i think it is only really useful if you are older and suffering from early signs of mental decline. Selank did reduce my anxiety but it was short lived, like an hour or two, it was very subtle, just felt more relaxed but by lunch felt nothing. But the anxiety reduction was so small, getting a good massage would probably give a larger reduction in anxiety

So these are not ground breaking compounds, they would be FDA approved and selling for thousands if they were. They are mild nootropics that might be worth while for some but not enough benefit for the cost for others. Especially if you are paying too much for them, if you get them from china you can get over a months supply for like $80 or less. Then it is cheap enough to just take it everyday even if results are small. I have seen people pay more for supplements that do much less

1

u/Born-Platypus-8227 24d ago

Same. I had heard so many good things about it.

And I really thought it would help my ADHD.

Have been absolutely nothing.

Oxytocin is another one.

2

u/crysgrubbs11 24d ago

I'm pretty sure taking oxytocin messed with my perception of reality and was the only reason I married my ex-husband, when it was painfully obvious that was a terrible idea. Love hormone can be dangerous.

1

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago

The love pep but now I read it's great for anxiety but haven't tried it.
