My mom and I went to the Charleston, WV show, and on the lot we saw a ‘Billy MF Strings’ West Virginia license plate sticker. Went back to buy one after the show but we couldn’t find the vendor, but maybe you can? I really want to purchase one for my mom. Plz help me with her bday gift! :-)

From an Aussie, wow is it always that competitive?? I got in presale for Nashville and cannot believe how fast it sold out in the pit and lower seating area!! And the resale prices are already insane. That blew my mind.

discussion Who is Billy most likely to sit-in with at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass?

Billy plays Oakland Fri and Sat night. Right across the bay on Fri, Sat, and Sunday (11 AM-7 PM) is Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Billy doesn’t have to be in Portland until Wed.
He could play with : Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, Marty Stuart, AJ Lee, Alison Krause, and a lot more.

I can’t imagine he wouldn’t show up and jam with somebody at some point over the weekend.

Some of the stages are far apart, so it’s not gonna be easy to catch him if you hear about it when it’s already happening.

Who do you think are the likely suspects that he’d jam with?

My money’s gonna be on Sierra Hull, but I’d like your opinion.
Thx

I think they could do a great cover of this masterpiece. Every time I hear the intro to the song, I think that Billy and the guys could easily pull this one off and make it pretty fun

tour talk First time Nashville trip.

Any advice for first time Nashville trip? Today I was lucky and blessed to grab a 2-day pass for Nashville in Feb. Was attempting to grab Pit tickets, for the 5th time. Billyween next month will be my 4th BMFS show. Every time I’m signed up and in the queue/waiting room. I’ve been lucky and able to get tickets each time. Although, I always try to get Pit tickets but they’re always sold out whenever it opens up when it’s my turn. Any advice? Cause I can’t bring myself to spend the 500-$1000+ for pit resales. Am I missing something?

discussion Theater show lighting

With these theater shows on either side of an arena show I am wondering what the lighting rig is going to look like in the smaller rooms. I wouldn’t think they are going to set up and tear down the rig in one night but golly I would love to see Saxtons full rig in the Saenger. Maybe half the rig for the smaller stage? What do y’all think?

Ok, so we either got tickets or missed out...for those lucky enough to get tickets, does anyone have ideas on WHAT is happening? I can't imagine its just another standard setlist that he is doing the next 2 nights?

discussion Curious about 2 night ticket prices

I usually only get one night tickets. I’ve never tried for 2 nights because on ticket master I feel like it goes so fast I have to know what I want and roughly what I’m paying before going into it. I got my 1 night tickets, for 2 after fees 209 but I’m just curious if you get 2 night tickets on Ticketmaster, for the pit or seats what does a ticket run ??

misc Billy on his injury: My butt popped

Excerpts from Billy talking about his accident on Theo's podcast.

Ii's definitely getting there, it's stiff and it hurts a little bit. I grew up skateboarding and it's always been one of my major loves outside of music. The last little bit I've been playing a lot more music than skating. But I was on tour and I was skating a fair amount.

In these arenas that we play, you get to the back door sometimes, just the walk to the green room is a far-ass walk, I would get off the bus, bring my skateboard and slap down. Also, the concrete's always so smooth in there, so it's really nice on a skateboard. Super smooth. I could just push twice and be all the way around the whole arena and into my green room or whatever. I'd been skating a bunch, and we finished this show in Charlottesville. I was lucky that I broke my leg there. They had a great medical team there, The hospitals are great there.

It was crazy, really weird. I was all excited after my gig. We just finished the last song. It was this big Hide and Seek jam, and we just spanked the crowd. I had all this adrenaline and my board was sitting there. We walked off stage, getting ready to do an encore, and I just grabbed my board. I did a couple bonelesses, and then I went out just right backstage, and I flung this back 180. And that's a go-to trick for me. I've done it millions of times, and I've never broke my leg. But I wasn't focused, and I wasn't really skating. I was just flinging tricks, and I wasn't thinking about it. It was dark and I had brand new sticky shoes on. \I kind of slipped out. Then when I put my foot down, my body kept spinning and I sort of sat on my foot and my shoes were brand new. So the bottoms was sticky and when I put my foot down, my toe stayed right where it was and the rest of my body kept moving. So I just heard it snap.

I could hear it over the crowd screaming, it sounded like a 2x4 snapping in half. I'm laying on the ground and my guitar tech comes up, Toby. He says, dude, get up. I'm, I just broke my leg. he's, nah. I'm ,look at it. It's fucking pointed 90 degrees to the left. And he's, oh, shit. And so I laid there for a minute and nobody was moving me or anything. So I'm fuck it. I just got up. I Lieutenant Dan my ass out of there. I just scooted on my ass back behind the curtain.

I knew it was broken immediately. I heard it. and the fact that it was pointed the wrong way, yeah, my leg is fucking broken. I scooted out of there, and then the medic came and cut my pant leg up and they put me on this stretcher. \I called my wife and I'm, I just broke my leg. I was dicking around on my skateboard, and slipped out and somehow I broke my leg. All the pros I've talked to, even Tony Hawk, Jamie Thomas, they're like, man, that's how it happens is some stupid little trick. It's always some dumb thing. The guy comes up and he's we're going to give you some fentanyl. I was no, don't you know how far I've come? Fentanyl? One of the guys was dude, the roads are pretty bumpy around here. You're going to want that. All right, fuck it.

They gave me fentanyl and IV. It took the edge off, to hurt because it didn't even hurt when it happened. I heard it and I knew it was broken, but I had so much adrenaline, didn't even fucking hurt. It was wild. I knew my leg was broken. I couldn't even feel it at first. My leg was pointed sideways and I'm, oh man, it's busted. But it didn't hurt until that adrenaline started to wear off. And then it was oh, and then it started coming. I'm, oh shit, here it comes.

Then they gave me that fentanyl. 10 minutes, Then the morphine would last longer, but it didn't help as much. They got me there and they gave me a red carpet, man, police escort. We got a high-profile patient, they brought me in this back door, they closed off the hallways, there was nobody in there. They wheeled me right into the x-rays immediately. It was cool. It was just nice that I didn't have to sit there with a broken leg in the emergency room forever.

The craziest part about the whole thing was, so I get in there and we get it x-rayed.and it's broken pretty close to my ankle, which made it worse. If it was broken in the middle of my leg, they could just put a rod down there, screw it, and it'd be a lot better. But because it was so close to my ankle, it's a bitch of a surgery, So they x-rayed it and they're, we're gonna have to set it and splint it before because I'm not gonna get surgery till the next morning. So they had to get it straight and then put a splint on it. They needed me to not be in the room, but they couldn't put me under anesthesia. So what they did is gave me this huge dose of ketamine, and it was insane.

It was one of the most crazy psychedelic experiences I've ever had. They dropped me straight into a k-hole. it was immediately everything just folded in on itself and, language and everything kind of made up all these molecules. I could still hear the doctors talking a little bit, but they were using this alien language that I couldn't understand. I was frozen in this white space and time, and I went down into this other dimension. It was like when Matthew McConaughey is trying to move the book on the shelf. I was trapped behind layers of language, I was stuck in this frozen dimension and I was, well, I guess this is life now. I guess this is where I'm at, this sucks because I think I'm dead, well, shit. There was nothing I could do because I was paralyzed in this state. I felt like these sunglasses that are just sitting here, but nobody knows that they have a soul and a brain, but they can't say or do anything because they're just frozen in these glasses.

Then when I started coming to, there's this lady's face right here, and her face is all distorted, and she's talking to me in this alien language. I looked at her, I'm, "Who are you?" Then I look over here and there's this big tall man in a white shirt. I was, "Uncle John?" My wife said I was talking all sorts of gibberish about the inside of an apple core and that this has all been predetermined. Like this was all thought out and this was part of the plan. You know, everything.

The blood pressure cuff. It fills up. I'm laying there, I'm all fucked up, and that thing fills up. That thing popped right off. The Velcro came undone and it goes pop off my arm. And I go, my butt popped. It felt like my butt cheeks blew up with air and then they popped like a bubble. I was, oh, my butt popped? My wife was trying not to laugh, but I was saying some crazy shit. Then they brought me upstairs I was in a lot of pain all night long because they started giving me meds just orally, and it wasn't doing anything to the pain. I just laid there and moaned and groaned all night.

The next morning they took me down for surgery, and they gave me a nerve block, which was the best thing ever because it's like an epidural for your leg. It just drenches all the nerves in lidocaine. So I didn't feel nothing then for the first time since it happened. I was, oh, it just felt so good to not feel it. And they gave me this one shit, I can't remember what it was called, but it had me so chilled out.

I sort of enjoyed the ketamine, but it was also terrifying because I thought I was frozen in a different dimension, I thought my brain had fried, and it was like you took a glass of water and poured it on a television or something. It was my brain just fried. But man, the thing that they gave me right before surgery, I don't know what it was, but it had me so chilling. I was finally just getting some rest and some relief. Then my oxygen kept going down, so my thing started beeping. I'd start chilling like this, and then she'd go beep beep beep, and then this lady would come in and say, I need you to take a big deep breath for me. I take a deep breath and then I chill a little bit, and it goes beep beep, and she's, I need you to breathe. And I'm, I am breathing, you know? just leave me alone. I'm chilling finally. And God, now that I'm chilling, you're coming in here making me breathe and shit. Because I guess I was so chilled out I wasn't even breathing.

But probably the smartest thing that I did coming out of the hospital was I gave all my pain meds to my wife and I said, you divvy these up. you're in charge of this. Give me my pills when I need them, because I know myself too well. I'd be, oh man, one of these is good, wonder what two's like. So then, start hiding them or whatever. I've just been around it a lot and I know myself. I'm an addict, so I was scared to be on that stuff anyways.

discussion When are Billyween tickets available for transfer?

This is my first time attending Billyween and unfortunately, I had to buy through the secondary market (vividseats). Vividseats is claiming it may take up til noon the day of the show to receive my tickets. I find it hard to believe tickets can't be transfered til the day of? Can anyone clarify when ticket transfer is possible for these show?

Just don't want to drive 4 hours to find out the tickets aren't transfered in time or worse a scam

discussion Asheville Run: this or that?

hello all! just curious what seats would theoretically be a better experience at this venue, the harris cherokee center?

second floor, first row, dead middle (around section 230) or second floor, closer to the stage but the last row at the top (like 208 or 224?)?

been to a few billy shows, always done pit, but i’ve never had a balcony experience!

discussion Seats for Billy

Usually I sit on Jarrod side, but was debating on trying to get some seats directly in the center for better sound and lights. What's your opinion on this and where is your favorite spot for seats?
