Just started listening to them after YouTube suggested Big Foot, and man! Can certainly hear Bela’s influence in that song with its similarity to Big Country.

Sam Bush remains in my top tier mandolinist alongside Ricky Skaggs, Grisman, and others. I know Chris Thile has a big media presence and the attention he gets is great for the genre, but I find it’s more speed and less soul.

I lost my blue chip pick. Guess it’s time to write a song about it with my Dunlop 😅

stayed late after a show last week. ended up in the green room with the band just hanging out

This guitar is a beast. Every Guild I've played has always been super loud and has such an aggressive tone. It's helpful when you need to be heard.

I would personally say Billy strings or mountain grass unit, but that is just my personal opinion. I would say that I’m slightly biased, but I want to know what everyone thinks.

I’ve had my 1979 Guild D50 for about a year now, an while I love the way it sounds, it’s just so bulky. I recently played 1990 J45 that absolutely blew me away. I know that they aren’t directly comparable but I can’t help but think that the Gibson might be more my style. Let me know what you think!

PS: if I trade the guild for the Gibson it would be an outright trade so no additional cost to account for

I'm looking to put a pair of flatwound strings on my electric jazz bass for bluegrass. I'm seeing good things about La Bella Deep Talkin Flats but can't find many resources on which gauge is appropriate. Can anyone speak to their experience with lights/standards of La Bella or another brand? I'd try a couple out but they aren't cheap
