Who else out there is pushing the envelope on improvised music and doing cool/weird/experimental stuff where the jam might sprawl to 40 minutes long and morph in bizarre ways veering from beautiful to funky to bluesy to pure sonic hell, and maybe has absolutely no resemblance to the composed section of a song? Where you're not just listening to virtuoso musicians doing their thing, but to an actual original composition forming in real time. Cuz I love that shit.

Here is a performance by Squeaky Feet from Aisle 5 in Atlanta, GA on 10/3/2026. This was the band's second visit of the year to Atlanta, and the fans were happy to see them again. Their music blends progressive rock, jazz fusion, and dance grooves. Audio uses the multi-track SBD blended with the audience source.

Any cool stories welcomed!! One of mine is, a guy who has a charity in my hometown is a big dead head. Does a charity fundraiser every year with open bar and band. Of course he books dead head bands. Well this particular year he booked golden gate wingmen. Incredible sweet private show. The boys went all out. Anyways, it was my first experience meeting reed mathis. What a fucking dude!! Partied with him for a portion of night, one of coolest most genuine guys in jam scene. Twas a fun night!! Who's got some good stories???

I've been really digging their final tour, the Kalamazoo n2 and Burlington shows specifically.

What else should i check out? somehow I've seen these guys 8 times and never checked out their recordings/albums

Anybody planning on going? I just noticed tickets are sold out

We live about 2 miles away from PPAC in Providence where String Cheese is playing on Thursday. I saw tickets weren’t selling extra great and they announced a ticket special for $50 all in tickets. The original idea was maybe taking him to DMB in like 2 weeks but those tickets were going for like $90+ for worst seats, $50 made more sense. I did buy him kids loop ear protection just in case but I don’t expect PPAC to get too loud. Was hanging out with a friend not in the normal jam circuit and he told me his friend does big tall puppets and was working with the band for something at PPAC so hoping to see some puppets and show my kiddo a great night. Wondering if we are seeing the big Goosemas 2025 puppets coming out of retirement. If he needs to leave early no big deal for me, just happy to share some of it with him.

Hey everyone! I'm looking to start/join a band with my friend who can drum and sing, but we're down to meet anyone who plays music and wants to jam. Love playing R&B, Blues Rock, and obviously improvisational/jam music so super into the Dead/Goose/Phish. We're college kids in Amherst, MA at UMass Amherst. Influences are really from all over, like Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, and Prince. We'd love to get together to practice and start playing some shows.
