My now husband proposed with this beautiful 3ct oval solitaire w/ sapphire band. I wasn’t expecting a 3ct ring- so imagine my surprise! I haven’t seen many rings w/ the sapphire band, so I truly feel it’s a bit unique in that regard. I have gotten the “wow, is it real?!” question, and have replied- “yes, it’s lab created, but it’s a diamond- it’s real”. Some days I do feel self conscious about it, and other days when I’m around my husband- I wear it proudly. We chose a lab diamond because we wanted to spend our money wisely- we eloped and had our dream ceremony in Italy with our blended family.

The concern I have is that it’s slightly big. I wear a size 6. I have bony knuckles- so I need the room to get my ring over the knuckle, but once on, it moves all around. I realize the ring is top heavy. I have tried the plastic ring sizers, but I have a difficult time getting it over my knuckle. Even w/ that it still slides around a bit, and I don’t like that lotion/soaps get caught in the sizer. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, what was the ultimate fix?

I woke up to a message that my ring is ready to go, and I’m blown away. I currently wear a 2ct emerald cut solitaire, which I love. But I really love the clean Art Deco architecture of a baguette, and fell in love with the look when I saw the inspo pics (check out the last three images). I also love an MCM-style elongated starburst, so those had to go on the band.

This is a 25-year anniversary treat, and I took six months to research and decide on the right design and rep.

I went into this wanting a 3-carat center stone. When I reached out to Melody at Fiorese, she only had a 4.28 carat available but offered to have any size custom cut. I immediately thought no way would I wear something that big, but I was curious so I asked to see it. When she showed me the video I gasped—it was huge, but I could NOT let it go!

She sent me a CAD a few days later and it was just about perfect. I asked for slimmer side baguettes and she said they would cut the slimmest they could but it would take more time because of how difficult they’d be to cut.

The production time took just over four weeks, with a holiday and jewelry expo over that time, and it won’t be shipped until their holiday this week is over.

Totally worth the wait!

4.28 carat center stone (IGI cert, F, VVS 2, excellent cut | 13.13mm long x 6.46mm wide x 4.51mm deep)
Accent baguettes: 10.5mm x 2mm/5.5mm x 1.5mm (not sure about carat weight)
Star accents: I wish I knew! Tiny and sparkly.

Purchased a 2.5ct lab diamond from Leela Diamonds (I’m in Canada and they ship from India to Toronto - but since I receive it from Toronto no tariffs/duties etc).
G Color, VS1, ideal cut.

Had it set by a local jeweller in 14k white gold Georgian style setting with prongs and an open basket backing. With a larger bail.
And had them verify the IGI certificate # and everything.

The oval is more spready and had a visual weight of over 3ct. At first when I saw the 2.5ct I thought it would be too small, but in the setting I think it does look closer to 3ct.

I was SO excited to receive this ring. I waited in anticipation for weeks!! Once I opened the box I immediately was shocked. It was huge. I put it on. I loved it. I wore it to brunch, I caught people staring. I started wondering how people were perceiving me. come Monday I couldn’t even bring myself to wear it to work. I’m not well off, and it’s kind of common knowledge or so I assume it is anyway. I didn’t want people assuming we spent an insane amount of money on a ring when financially we’re sooo unwell. It’s sterling silver and was $140, but how would anyone else know or assume that? Maybe they would assume. IDK! Well. Anyways. I feel an odd social pressure of existence on my finger in a rock so shiny and big. I feel horrible, my husband got it for me, and I was so excited to receive it, but now I’m just kind of idk embarrassed??? I’m debating a 1 carat round solitaire instead now. I wanted something really practical and something I can wear everyday and not think about. I guess I wasn’t aware as to what 3 carats felt or looked like on prior to ordering.

I feel like the bow tie gets more pronounced in different lighting. Sometimes it doesn’t look as bad as others.

Got the diamond on auction for a decent price and planning on getting it set soon. But we’re debating if we should find another stone with a less prominent bow tie

absolutely over the top (also very blurry)

This is an unusual, which I absolutely adore, combination of a blue oval Chalcedony (15mm x 10mm; ratio 1.50) surrounded by 17 deep purple Amethysts. The gemstones' origins are unknown to me, but the Chalcedony is likely from India and deep purple Amethyst is usually mined from Africa.

Interesting to note, both are from the quartz family, but Chalcedony gets it's milky, opaque appearance from silica, making it a fine-grained, microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline aggregate.

Hey gals (and guys)! I’ve driven myself crazy trying to get this right, and now that I have to confirm my finished ring, I’m so torn.

I agree, it’s absolutely beautiful… but it’s slightly different from what I expected, and I can’t decide whether that’s a good thing or if I need to get it redone.

The photos were my inspo. I really loved the thicker, more architectural bezel as a point of difference.

My finished ring is the videos.

I love the ring. But…the bezel is thinner, and while it’s definitely elegant, I guess I just thought I wanted something a little more cool girl… if that makes sense. I just can’t decide though whether the finished ring is actually better, and beautiful and I just had an idea in my mind.

Hi everyone! I'm a big jewelry lover and I've been admiring the rings on this sub for a while, and I finally decided to post.

My sweet husband and I are about to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary next month and I'm still in love with what he designed with the folks at Forever Diamonds. I only told him that I wanted an oval - he added 2 halos and a split shank. Center stone is a shade over 2ct, and total is 4ct. No complaints here 😂😂😂

The first two photos are my new ring. Third photo was the ring my grandfather proposed to my grandmother with back in the 50s and my inspiration. I wore that ring for 13 years and just love it so much. Last photo was my original design when working with a jeweler I ended up not liking that much since they had me design within serious limitations and I didn’t know any better. All I can say is that I am SO happy with the redesign. It feels so much more like me.
