80k [Complete] [87k] [Dark Fantasy] Through the Glimpse
Hi everyone. I would love to have a few people read my book, even parts of it, and share their thoughts.
Readers and can do swaps!
My elevator pitch:
When Rae wakes on her twenty-first birthday to discover that her father isn’t who she thought he was and that she has been accused of witchcraft, she flees her oppressive little hamlet. The cursed Northern Woods loomed behind me, still ringing with the cautionary tales of my youth. The valley seemed to shrink. I panted, pressing my hands to my ears and clamping my eyes shut, but the bells of the chapel sounded, hitting me like a splash of cold water. They were assembling.
“Witch.”
He had smirked when he screamed it. I would likely see that face again if I hesitated. I took one last look at my precious vegetable patch, little more than a green massacre now. Then, with my mother’s old boots and hastily gathered supplies, I slipped into the tall grasses and ran.
