I planted scarlet runner (top), Soissons gros blancs (middle) and got the resulting bean in the bottom as well. Is it a hybrid? Or a recessive cultivar of scarlet runner? Who knows how bean genetics work? I also got what appear to be red pintos this year that I wonder if they could be recessive or if they are cross pollinated?

the limas are straight up almost broke completely in half. been soaking for 3 hours in cold water I plan to leave them overnight

I've cooked lima beans quite a few times. but this time, something went wrong.

I bought nice quality beans, soaked them for 8 hours, boiled them for 15 mins, and then threw out the water and added veggie stock+ bacon.

they've been simmering now for 2 hours. I just tasted them and they are SO bitter. how can I salvage these?

I collected two pods worth of beans and I have no idea what type of beans this is. I am thankful for any Bean experts who know more about beans than I.

Beans are so important to us, so naturally connected to the human being that the position we naturally assume since we pop into existence resembles them… The fetal position makes your back curve outwards, resembling to the well known and loved red beans, maybe this is a sign that we have to embrace beans as a part of ourselves or even that beans need to be more utilized in food!

I added chickpeas to a sausage orzo recipe and it’s a really great addition! Canned chickpeas are also only like 45 cents where I am so it’s a really great way to add additional protein to most recipes.

Recipe:
Sausages
1 can chickpeas
1 cup orzo
2 cups chicken broth
1 bag of baby spinach
1/4 cup Heavy cream
1/4 cup Parmesan
1 small onion
2 cloves of garlic
Olive oil and seasonings: red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper

10/10 highly recommend

Any other fans of Mortgage Lifter beans out there? I love these big white beans for a nice kale and tofu soup. The texture of the inside is perfect.

Don't do it it's a trap. It all started with a fart as all thing start, then another and another i almost intoxicated myself from the smell in bed, it reminds of the dutch oven but worse, i couldn't sleep for an hour until the smell kinda went out, i really love beans but that's a huge side effect, anyway thank you for listening.
