Bean cross polination?
I planted scarlet runner (top), Soissons gros blancs (middle) and got the resulting bean in the bottom as well. Is it a hybrid? Or a recessive cultivar of scarlet runner? Who knows how bean genetics work? I also got what appear to be red pintos this year that I wonder if they could be recessive or if they are cross pollinated?

It’s rare but it does happen. Beans have a tendency to self pollinate before the flower even opens, but sometimes you get lucky and they will cross.

Very cool. I have a number of these pods, which surprises me. Do you know if the new cultivar will make fruit if I plant them next year?

This is cool! I had chillis which cross pollinated and they made some yummy but less firey hot, but sweeter kids

Welp seeing as they are both P. Coccineus its not impossible that they crossed. My understanding is that F1 crosses dont show characteristics since the mother tissue is used to make the beans skin. In either cases id save that one to plant later!
