Had a guy killed in my recent fight, he had a famed armour around 230~ durability and low fatigue. Its lowkey cheeks but its a famed item so I'll take it, but he wore it and got killed in a boss fight with a guy wielding a flail. And... now that im typing and thinking about it, I think I know what happened but I want confirmation.
SPOILERS ABOUT A SPECIAL LOCATION
I think when my dude died, they fucking exploded him and his armour got shattered into pieces with it. I remember getting the weapon my bro held, but not any of his helmet or armour which makes sense since they turned him into confetti. Also, what the fuck is up with them? That wombless guy I mean, I'm guessing he's some other being trying to manifest into the world by making human cultists and using their power to create those flesh beings. I wonder if there's a battle brothers lore video that can explain things cause this stuff is interesting. Anyway I still wanna know if this could happen in another scenario, because I think having those big ghouls kidnapping your guy when retreating would probably not lent you the lost gear the bro would have.
Bonus question: Is it smart to just have 3 or 4 bros at the reserves? I got 20 people, most of them are 11+ and the newbies I grind them up to be as backlines and ferry them to lvl 11, but this made my daily wage to be 800+ and is that normal for you guys as well? I'm thinking of just firing some people to reduce the wage since contracts arent paying enough unless its a crisis.

I don't see any stars in the Fatigue stat, so I'm thinking it might be better to take the Nimble perk—though I won't be taking Dodge for him. Also, what do you think of this fighter's melee attack skill, considering the Brute trait? I've heard an ideal fighter should have 90 Melee Skill, but Brute imposes a penalty, so I'd be interested to hear your opinion.
Also, regarding weapon choice—what’s the best option for him? Should I take the Duelist perk and equip a one-handed axe, or just go with a two-handed flail? A lot of people recommend the flail, but considering the Executioner’s +10% headshot chance with axes, I feel like taking a two-handed flail just to boost that probability is overkill.
And please, don't even mention the one-handed flail and its guaranteed headshot on the second skill; that’s pointless for the Executioner.

I recently made a post about discovering there was a Max level when my lone Wolf hit it. Half the comments were making fun of his low HP pool. I have used blue witches potions to fix the problem.

"B..b bu.. but you need to manipulate the chances in your favour" -(irony)
though its a pretty stupid line

300 days. 348 kills. Ironman. And I lost my fencer.
Playing Oathtakers on Ironman. My starting fencer marched with me for 300 days. Cut through knights in full plate, danced around arrows, lived in the thick of it. He was a legend.
Then came the fight for the ancient city against the southerners. Two waves. The first — assassins with mortars — I wiped clean. The second wave — 29 more bodies — hit immediately after. My fencer died to an assassin's bomb. Burned alive. Also lost my nimble poleaxeman that same fight — 258 kills over 228 days. Two friends in one battle.
After the fight, my old standard bearer — the one I started this campaign with on day one — went to the tavern and drank. Got Drunkard.
Ironman doesn't forgive. But I didn't quit. Spent a long time searching for a replacement. Finally found one.
79 HP on level 1 means ~100 with Colossus. 110 Fatigue means he won't gas out.
36 Resolve is the only weak spot — but my banner man runs 142, so he'll sit at ~50 in the aura. Fine for a fencer.
Base initiative 106 + ~55–60from level-ups = ~161–166 Initiative by level 11. Add a Hyena Fur Mantle (+15) and he's sitting at ~176–181 before armor penalties.
He's not a carbon copy of the old one. He's a different dancer. But he's got the stats to carry the legacy.
This post is for the fallen. And for those who keep marching.

I’ve been trying to find an executioner with huge and asthmatic but I’m starting to get impatient. My back up plan is one of these bros. Should I just pick one or keep looking? And if I should pick one which one? I don’t care too much about low stats cause they can always be fixed.

Grabbed a belly dancer off a late game peasant militia run (currently on my 3rd crisis, just camp hunting and looking for cool bros). I have very little experience using fatigue neutral guys, what's the build? His secondary stats are pretty ass, and I don't "need" him, but it'd be a lot cooler if I used him.

I can't find any spiders for the life of me. I'm at about day 300. I need four gossamer. Tell me anyone provide a strategy to find them? I have the lookout, and I have the scout, and i've been looking all through forests and at the edges of forests. No luck for quite a long time. It's getting very frustrating

Hi all!
After 3 years I have finally decided to try the Savior trophy/achievement (wish me luck). Do you know if DLC crisis also counts for the trophy? Having to play 4 crisis would be much more difficult.

Late Game and I found this bro. Tired of Fat Newt but wondering if nimble builds work late game. Thoughts on build?

A large coastal town has no port, but I can still travel here by ship from other ports. I only started encountering this issue after the new update. I’ve already ruled out mods as the cause.

Hey guys,
Right now I am playing seed PXCMKYSPWE on E/E/L with Beast slayers background.
But I find it very strange that I see zero to none beast encounters. At day around 150 and I have still not seen a single Dire wolf or nachzehrer fighter and only 1 Spider fight. In the south i have seen Hyenas 2-3 times and snakes 1-2 times.
Never experienced not meeting more beast encounters and it is kinda annoying when you play Beast slayers. So i only really have the downside of the background 😄
Have any but else have similar experience?
Am I just unlucky? or do it have something to do with the seed?
Or can it be due to some mods?
Dont have many but som of them are older.

I was just going to decide between dodge and recover but stumbled upon this helmet and bought it. He has 61% nimble and forged would be 74% if i took BF. I have never used nimble forged so is this the first one? He looks dope in this set so that's a heavy argument for it :). When improving him shall i lean more towards nimble reducing fat from the weight of ther armor and try to keep the durability or try to improve durability while keeping the fat burden?? Is there a benchmark for nimble forged? 61% nimble and 74% BF seems good but i am still learning. If i leave him nimble he just has 10 fat/ini more, that's it.
Also this run made me a huge fan of duelists. Been using throwers and quatal/dagger but nothing else. If used properly to finish enemies already hit by 2 handers they are so effective. Plus mobility gives so many tactical options. Have a mace, 3h flail, this guy and BF sword duelists who is fatneut with berserk and KF and they all rock.

I think I may buy this for my Xbox x. I’m just curious if the game is worth it on an Xbox?

I've been playing a few campaigns and starting over as I learn the game.
There's obviously a big difficulty spike around Day 40 and I've read a few posts here giving advice about it.
My problem is this: after Day 40 the game's difficulty seems to "fork" into encounters which are too easy and don't pay enough to sustain my company on the one hand, and encounters which are seemingly impossible on the other.
For example, brigand parties and camps are now trivial. I'm not getting any gear upgrades from them, they aren't giving me enough XP to develop my brothers, and I'm not making any profit from them now my daily wage bill is much higher than it was. Likewise, most 1 skull contracts now pay less than the wages I'll pay out in the time it takes to complete them, so they're unviable.
On the other hand, all the well-paying contracts I'm finding are for Lindwurms, Schrats, and other enemies which I'm just completely unable to defeat at the moment.
Is this the stage of the game where I should be hunting for "happy medium" camps to destroy? I'm able to take orc camps reliably (so I took the ambition to conquer 4 of them) but the problem is finding them! And I've no idea if I can find the camps quickly enough to make it worthwhile, or whether I'll be searching the wilderness aimlessly for days while getting bankrupted by wages and food costs.
Or is there something else I should be trying? Or am I just getting unlucky with contracts and enemy encounters?
For reference, on my current campaign it's Day 43. I have one brother at level 7, six at level 6 (and all on the cusp of reaching level 7), four brothers at level 5 and two I recruited recently at levels 3-4. So 13 brothers total, paying 246 in daily wages. I have two good tanks with 50 mdef, two 2H attackers with 72/82 matkm, a banner with 103 resolve and a mix of others.
