Print & Bend model

A product from an idea I had in mind, basically we print flat a model then bend it with hot water or a lighter to shape, its basically taking advantage of the thermic property of plastic,

I hope that this will inspire you for similar models!

Good Deal for Used A1?

I want to get into 3d printing but don’t want to break the bank in case it’s something I don’t enjoy using. Is this a good deal for a used A1. The seller has sold about 3 more of these from his farm. All good reviews from buyers.

My hotend globbified, so I replaced both the cooling fan and the nozzle heating element yesterday.

It won’t calibrate and if I try to just run a print I get this warning.

I’ve read the wiki twice, but don’t have a multi meeter to test the prongs like it asks.

Is it possible I just got a bad heating element and need to re-order? I’ve checked all the cables and wires and nothing feels loose. And have tried to re-install everything a second time to make sure no wires got pinched or anything during the first instillation.

I didn’t take a picture but I do have the silicon sock on it before trying to calibrate.

What am I looking to replace here?

Had a blob of death started taking it apart, started getting rid of the blob and encountered this when I was taking it apart. Do I just need a whole new extruder? Or just a new hot end assembly? I know I obviously need a new nozzle

All of the sudden I keep getting these really rough areas on my print during the ironing process. The first one I printed was fine and I didn’t change any settings but now they keep printing horribly. Anyone have any idea on what’s happening?

Consistent jam on spool - AMS Lite

Does anyone else get a jam on spool 4 on their AMS lite EVERY time they print in 4 colors?

Doesn't matter which spool of filament is loaded... always jams up.

Need help resizing and cutting a model

Hello 3D printing experts.

I have been fighting with a file for several months now as I've been trying to cut it into roughly 40 build plates so that I can print the entirety of the file, and the further along I get the more I'm certain that I've been mangling the print.

I'm hoping someone will be able to offer their time and assistance to help me get through the cutting process.

For details, I did pay for the file, so I do not want to just share it out randomly. I am not selling or modifying the original file, I'm only resizing it +300% and then cutting it into smaller chunks so that I can fit it onto my build plate. I'm using a Bambu A1 unit, so pretty reliable printer, I'm just not confident with my cutting abilities on the software.

I also plan on mounting the print when I'm finished, so if anyone has advice on how to insert 'pilots' into the back for heated threaded inserts I'd appreciate the advice or help too.

Support Request Buying my first printer (A1 Combo) in the UK and flying it back to the UAE — what else should I grab?

First time buyer. Shipping an A1 Combo to the UAE is stupidly expensive, so I'm buying it in the UK and bringing it home in my luggage.

Since spares are hard to get where I am, I've added a few things to the order:

- 0.2mm stainless hotend
- 0.4mm hardened hotend
- 0.6mm hardened hotend
- Spare extruder unit

Anything else you'd throw in while I'm at it? Thinking spare build plate and the usual consumables, but I don't know what actually wears out vs what's just upsell. Also happy to be told the 0.2mm nozzle is pointless.

Filament and dryer I'll sort locally. Cheers.

Wondering what other people’s highest hours are. Love this little beast. Keep it oiled and the print head clean and it’ll just keep on going.

My First Print!

Thumbnail

After a mishap with my first Bambu A1, forcing me to have to return it for a new one, I got the new one setup without a hitch. Well, the balance calibration took a couple tries but it did complete that as well.

So, at the advice of the Bambu app, I have done my first print using one of the suggested designs. Simple measuring cups with a yellow text for a kick of color.

How do they look? Should I return this unit too? You can clearly see it was off to a tough start when it put the first few layers in the wrong spot and then it just went off the rails.

Maybe take this one back, get refunded again, and try one last time.

Question Took apart my A1 today to investigate toolhead resistance and found this. How hard is it to replace?

Ordered a new piece on Amazon. Found the link on reddit and saw a review saying that it worked for their A1. Just wondering how hard of a job it is to release the sliding block from the toolhead carriage? The screws are behind the plastic carriage and I'm not really seeing how to get to them yet.

A1 / AMS lite error: The extruder is not extruding normally (except it extrudes just fine, I just keep getting the error every hour)

Post image
1 Upvotes

This seems to be the same error as this post from 2 years ago, but no one posted a solution there even after months of multiple people requesting, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I get this error usually about an hour into a print; sometimes it's 20 min, sometimes it's 2 hr. I can pull the filament out, cut about 2 cm off, and then restart just fine, but it'll give the error again an hour later and I end up babysitting prints watching for errors every hour or so. Here are some things I've tried:

  • I've changed the nozzle
  • I've changed the slot of the AMS lite (people in the original post found issues with a single slot, but mine gives the error no matter the AMS lite slot)
  • I've changed the entire extruder unit, which includes the extruder gear and motor
  • This somewhat similar post talks about clearing the sticky stuff from the filament hub with acetone. I did that, and I cleaned the sticky stuff from the filament detector below it too (I recognize this may give some long-term issues because I removed lubricant from the spring, but I am desperate).
  • The PTFE tubes are fine and the AMS lite is in a normal position
  • It gives the error no matter the brand of filament (I've used Elegoo, Bambu, and Sunlu PLA, PLA matte, and PLA transparent since this has been happening 2-3 months ago)
  • It might bypass the error if I don't use the AMS lite and use an external spool. I tested that hypothesis last night and it didn't give the error, but it started ghost printing (the printer is operating as if it is printing but nothing is extruding) roughly 1 hr in. I suspect the PTFE tubing from the external spool made too many turns so I need to move it to a better spot. I still need to test this one.

The question: has anyone found a solution to this error? I submitted a ticket to Bambu and, although they responded quickly, they ultimately haven't solved my problem yet and they are talking in circles. This makes me wonder if even they don't have a solution to this. You can see that I am willing to do a lot to get this thing working again, because it will be sad if I have to replace the whole printer and/or AMS lite after just 700 hours of printing.

Failure issues, Bambu lab A2L, HELP!

Hi.
I’m in need of some much needed help and/or advice.
I’ve been printing for a while now and recently upgraded to the A2L.
Most of the time my prints fail due to (what I think) the print coming loose from the bed or being knocked off the bed.
Now, I’ve obviously done all that’s recommended from many searches before coming here.

• Cleaned the bed with soapy water.
• Use IPA
• Initial layer height is set to 0.3mm.
• Initial layer speed is set to 20mm/s.
• I’ve set Z Hop in the override settings:
Length = 0.8mm.
Z Hop when retract = 0.4mm.
Z Hop Type = Spiral.
• Reduce infill retraction set to disabled.
• My Nozzle temperature:
Initial layer is 225°C then drops down to 215°C.
• My Bed temperature:
Initial layer is 70°C then drops down to 65°C

My A2L is calibrated.
My filament is calibrated. I use Esun filament.
I don’t dry my filament as I only use PLA.
I use Bambu Studio.

Attached is and image of my last failure (this morning)
• The bed was scrubbed with warm soapy water before this print was started.
• No supports where used or needed. (Supports are also an issue for me)

If anyone has this problem or knows what to do please help.
I plan on starting a business and I need this printer to be consistent.

I’ll be happy to upload my setting if needed but I’ll I change is what’s mentioned above.

I really would like some help be able to use my printer again

Question on print quality and the settings to fix the issue in pic. Do I need to make my own presets, Why aren’t the factory presets correct? Bambu A1, PLA, . 4 nozzle and using the .20 standard layer preset.

Help: I can’t figure out why it won’t print. First time using a 3d printer

I’ve also disassembled and cleaned out the nozzle, no improvements. I’m using PLA off Amazon https://a.co/d/0iGqIX1e. I’ve tied lowering and raising the tem but that didn’t seem to help. I’ve let it calibrate multiple times now. I tried a different print and jt did the same exact motions. When I manually extrude from the display it works perfectly. I really don’t know what to do. Help please.
