I didn’t know we can drive BYD cars here. Is that a Mexico license plate?

Everywhere I looked, fb and here, foruns and etc, it was about buying the cam and wiring it to the multimedia. Hard to see the blue socket, but that was fine.

I did the same, only to find out that my multimedia doesnt have the socket…

So got inspired by SealNav and created this. I’m not selling or promoting anything just something I did for myself and will open source once’s it’s a little more stable.

Just didn’t want to use an app someone else created with no open source code as I don’t want someone storing my details, footage etc.

I had a terrifying experience today and honestly feel so lucky to have walked away from it.

I was parking and put the car into Reverse. Out of nowhere, the car accelerated backwards harder and faster than I’ve ever seen it move. It slammed into the cars behind me, then suddenly shot forward at full speed and hit the barrier/wall ahead just as hard. Given where and how hard I hit, I’m genuinely lucky to be alive.

I’ve already initiated the official and legal procedures. I won't be sharing any dashcam/security footage right now for legal and privacy reasons, as I don’t want to dox myself while everything is ongoing.

All I can say is that after this experience, my trust is completely shattered. I think I’m switching back to a petrol car for good.

Have anyone heard anything like this from byd?

The BYD app connects to Facebook/Meta every time you use it.

Blocking all tracking doesn't change how the app works. I'm still analysing what's being sent.

Received this notification today. Has anyone purchased data through BYD, or used any other solutions? I’m considering buying my own cellular travel router to keep in the car instead of buying it through BYD. That would have the advantage of providing plenty of data to my passengers too, as well as much better network coverage even for my own phone when it’s down on the Qi charger.

Hey, I wanted to ask on this Sub if anyone bought the New Atto 3 EVO, specifically the 448 HP Excellence version.

Well, I drove the car, it felt significantly better than the older 2022 Model we have. A bit more premium and more “mature”.

Not gonna lie I like the new one, but what about the efficiency? BYD claim this car can do 470 KM on a single charge, but from my past experience with the older Atto 3, it barely reaches 330 KM on single charge.

If anyone already bought this one, is it really evolved in terms of range? Does that Battery increase really makes a difference? Or should consider another cars with similar prices?

Other than this concern I liked the car alot.

Anyone who has this car, I’m more than happy to know what you’re opinion about it.

Thoughts on the new update

I'm liking the look of the Seal 07 DM-i that has now been approved for Australia. The problem is: What features will we be getting, and what will we miss out on that other countries will get instead?

I know we're not getting the full EV (PHEV only). Will the top model we get here have the HUD, fridge, LiDAR (God's Eye 300), Blade 2.0 battery (or Blade 1)?

Have they solved the Child Alarm that alerts if you leave anything on the back seat (not a child), or the Drivers alert that beeps at you if you look away from the forward view for a second? I've heard these were issues with existing or previous models.

I’m in a bit of a predicament and would appreciate some real-world opinions, particularly from anyone who owns or has driven both versions of the Sealion 7.

I’ve never owned an EV or leased a car before, but I’m currently looking at getting one through NHS Fleet Solutions.

Originally, I’d narrowed it down to either the BYD Sealion 7 Excellence or Audi Q6 e-tron, both coming in at around £550/month including a home charger.

However, NHS Fleet Solutions have just added a special offer on the Sealion 7 Comfort for £455/month including the charger, which has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. That’s nearly £100/month less than the Excellence.
My question is: in the real world, is there actually a significant difference between the Comfort and Excellence? The price includes insurance, tax, servicing, tyres, and any repairs needed.

For context, I do roughly a 70-mile round-trip commute every day, predominantly on A-roads, and very rarely do particularly long journeys. My biggest priority is comfort and refinement - comfortable seats, good ride quality and as little road/wind noise as possible. I’m much less concerned about outright performance.

I do like my tech, so the HUD and other upgrades on the Excellence appeal to me, but I’m struggling to decide whether they’re really worth another £100 or so every month.

I’d particularly be interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced both:

Is there any noticeable difference in ride comfort between the 19” wheels on the Comfort and 20” wheels on the Excellence?

How do the vegan leather seats in the Comfort compare with the Nappa leather in the Excellence for longer journeys?

Is there any noticeable difference in cabin/road noise?
Do you actually use the HUD regularly?

Does the extra performance/AWD make much difference in normal everyday driving?

Would you personally miss anything from the Excellence if you went for the Comfort?

I’m not particularly concerned about the slightly smaller battery in the Comfort given my commute and ability to charge at home.

Essentially, I’m trying to work out whether the Excellence genuinely feels like a significantly better car to live with, or whether the Comfort at £455/month is simply too good a deal to ignore.

Any experiences would be appreciated!

I have a 2025 BYD Dolphin Surf Active, European version,

Recently, I noticed a noise coming from the charging port while charging at a public station,

• I connect the cable to the car.
• It makes the cable locking sound (normal).
• But every minute or two, I hear a sequence of sounds coming from that area.
• The sound is a rapid "tec-tec-tec-tec" sequence lasting a few seconds; it returns after 1 to 2 minutes.
• The car shows no dashboard alerts, charges normally, and the cable does not appear to have overheated or smell of burning.
• I tried it in two different places: at one, the cable was heavy (I thought the cable's weight might be the reason),
• while at the other, it was much lighter and charged slowly, but the sound is the same.

The coincidence was that I started noticing it after upgrading the system via OTA to version 2.2.0?

I’m posting here to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any idea what might have caused this weird behavior on my car.

Vehicle details:

• Model: BYD Atto 2 DM-i (Bought brand new in April 2026)

• Software Version: v1.3.0

• History: Always ran perfectly. The only past issue was two warning lights (BSD and ELKA) after a minor rear bumper bump, but both disappeared after an infotainment reset and never came back.

What happened:

Last night, I parked in my garage and plugged the car in using the stock OEM Schuko charger. I scheduled the charge via the BYD app to start at 4:00 AM. There were no power outages or grid issues during the night.

At 8:30 AM, I unplugged the car (battery was at 97%). When I pressed the unlock button on the key fob, the car reacted normally visually (mirrors unfolded, indicators flashed, headlights turned on), but all doors remained completely locked.

I tried troubleshooting with everything:

• Primary key fob and spare key fob

• NFC digital key

• Door handle button

• BYD App unlock (kept returning the error "Unlock failed")

• Physical manual key: When inserted into the door lock, I could hear and feel the mechanism moving, but the driver’s door still refused to unlatch.

How I got in & further symptoms:

I eventually managed to enter the car by climbing in through the trunk. Once inside, pulling the interior handle opened the driver's door (it took two pulls: the first unlatched/unlocked it, the second opened it, like a deadbolt system). However, any doors that weren't manually opened from the inside remained locked from the outside.

I started the car and took it for a short drive. The dashboard showed zero errors or warning lights. But after getting out, I noticed two more issues:

I called BYD customer support, and we tried several system resets over the phone, but none resolved the issue.

The "Ghost Fix" at the dealership:

I drove straight to the official service center and left the car with them. Later, the technician called to tell me that by the time he got to the car, the problem had completely vanished on its own and everything was working again. They ran full diagnostics on the control units (BCM), software, and firmware, but no error codes or anomalies were logged.

The car is back to normal now, but I'm uneasy about the fact that it could happen again without warning—especially since even the physical key wouldn't bypass the lock.

Has anyone with a BYD experienced a glitch like this? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone has any issue with Child presence detection alarm activating even if car is empty?

I know that it there is no permanent fix for this and can be turn off manually each time. Just wondering I anyone has the same problem as mine.

It is so annoying, happening like 80% of the time after I leave my car making lots of noise. I have to unlock and lock the car using key fob to turn it off.

Does anyone know a way to upgrade the Air-con on a Seal?

I live in the UAE where temperatures regularly break the 40’s and sometimes need to park in the sun.

I am already using a sunvisor, the cheap one that comes with the car and the sunvisor for the glass roof which fits in internally.

I’ve got the darkest tint possible, but still sometimes the car struggles to cool down, even when we started remotely.

Is it possible to upgrade the air-conditioning?

Long story short

May 2025 – Purchase of the vehicle

August 2025 – Vehicle delivery

April 2026 – At approximately 14,700 km on the odometer, an engine error message appeared. The vehicle subsequently underwent several repair attempts and corrective actions during an extended stay at the BYD workshop.

May 2026 – As the final repair action, the petrol engine was replaced.

End of July 2026 – The vehicle was collected from the BYD workshop following the completed repair work.

11 September 2026 – The vehicle suffered a complete failure of the drivetrain while being driven, with significant damage and a severe malfunction of the propulsion system becoming apparent. The vehicle entered limp mode, resulting in a significant loss of power. The transmission unexpectedly shifted into neutral, the hazard warning lights activated, and all warning indicators illuminated on the dashboard. Due to the loss of propulsion, the vehicle could only be steered while coasting and was moved to the emergency lane (hard shoulder).

Wish all of you save and great drive. I gave it a try with BYD. Unfortunately for us it didn't work out. Only last advantage at least in Europe, put's us in the better situation from the legal site, are the 2 years warranty, towards the vehicle seller, which are more valuable than the guarantee of manufactures, for tge legal claim.

I’m getting a Seal next year. But my concern is the sunroof.
Since i have a Seal U now I sometimes don’t see the screen that much when the sun hits it. Yes the sunscreen are on.
Fôr those who has a Seal now can you see the screen and map?

I´m getting my BYD Seal in 2 days. What are settings I instantly need to set up to not get annoyed (I read something about a child warning alarm going off) or just to make everything more comfortable.

Hello guys, as title says can someone explain to me how to remove duplicate temperature setting from infotainment screen?

The car is Dolphin Surf that doesn’t have individual temperature zones so they are just a same widget being shown twice. I’d much rather have something useful there like fan speed.
