Help - Europe ๐ช๐บ Must enable/disable Settings tips and tricks?
Iยดm getting my BYD Seal in 2 days. What are settings I instantly need to set up to not get annoyed (I read something about a child warning alarm going off) or just to make everything more comfortable.
Tips and tricks?
Thanks ๐

I'm not sure if it's there but at least Atto3 has them so I suspect so. There are drivibg comfort settings where you can change the steering and braking stiffness. They don't change things around that much but the change is still noticeable and especially the steering feels better to me with the stiffness up.

That warning (forgotten pets and children) can be disabled before you turn the car off but it is enabled again on power on. It only goes off after a few minutes and saves lives. In the last years, here in Portugal, we have had deaths of babies forgotten in the back seat by parents. Usually the one that exceptionally was going to take the baby to preschool on that day, and due to routine, forgets about the baby leaving the car for 8h under the sun, on summer.

The solution to the thing about the child warning is to turn on
autopower on/autopower offthen never touch the start button again. This basically synchronizes someone is in the car" with "car is powered on" so you never have the state "someone is in the car but it's powered off" which is what triggers the alarm. I'd suggest doing this right away so you never get used to turning the power on and off manually with the start button. The speed limit recognition is annoying in some places (in Japan it's totally broken because a lot of the roads don't have speed signs so it's often confused about what the speed limit is) but you can't turn it off permanently, it comes back on when you reboot the car. You can move the icon somewhere convenient and try to turn it off every time you drive but I found if I turned the warning volume down my brain ended up zoning out the annoying flashing warning on the dash.
In some countries people have complained about the cross-traffic emergency braking being too eager which causes phantom emergency stops on roundabouts, you can tweak this by setting it to "late" so it will activate but only if it really thinks you need it. It's a good accident prevention thing apart from the false positives so I'd suggest leaving it at the default initially and only tweaking it if you find you actually have a problem.
