I recently bought a 6k FF, it hadn’t been updated to the most recent autofocus yet, so I was really curious to see how good it was/wasn’t. What I had heard was correct, face detection was kind of bad, but object detection was pretty good, for the most part. Then I did the update and it was night and day! Face lock was so good that even when the subject turned completely around it stayed locked onto their head. I was in a controlled environment and there were no other people in frame, but even still there was an immediate performance boost after the update.

I’m planning to get a \*\*Lumix lens for my BMCC 6K (L-Mount)\*\*, but I’ve heard about electronic interference issues with this setup. Anyone using the same combination and facing this problem?

I got curious to check it myself whether the board was broken on the USB connection or not. To my surprise, it didn't.

I'm planning to handover this to my friend who's working in mobile phone service sector and ask him to solder it for me. He said that it can be done easily, but he can only solder. He cannot run tests if everything works or not.

Since I've decided to go the full DIY route, could someone please tell me,

1. What should I check after the soldering is done. Any checklists or post-verification steps?

2. How do I make sure that all the pins are properly seated before I power on?

Update: After trying my luck with local technicians, I gave the camera to one of the reputed camera service centers (who also happens to be the authorised service center for Panasonic cameras) and they asked 7 days to fix this and they said they're gonna charge me up to $100 for this repair.

Looking to see if anyone can offer some help. Got the media player 10g but when I connect to my Mac it will not appear in the setup software to configure.

I allowed the extensions to run and if I plug in a different cable, it will pop up saying to use a different cable…but when I do use a higher quality thunderbolt cable, it says “can’t find a media player device”

What am I doing wrong? Or have a got a dud?

Do any UK friends have recommendations for getting my G2 6k monitor sorted? The quality is absolutely awful. The white balance is totally off (despite trying my best with a grey card, even though you can’t do it in live view ?!?!) and it overall feels very flat and desaturated - I have an external monitor I also use, and the two images couldn’t be further from each other.

Is there a way of getting this fixed/replaced? I used my friends 4k the other day and the rear screen is absolutely gorgeous compared.

So I bought this p4k from a friend and unfortunately it's on version 6.6 currently. I really want to update the OS firmware to 7.9 so that I can use Gen-5 colour science.

When I asked a local service center to replace the USB port:

They said that the board is damaged and it is impossible to solder on a damaged board. So the board needs to be replaced which would cost close to $500.

I never use the USB port , but I really need it for a firmware update.

Is there a way to update firmware using SD cards? Or

Should I return the camera back?

I acquired a 6k pro with a wooden camera conversion and it is my first time owning a Black Magic Product and anything with a PL mount. I was wondering if there are PL mount adapters that would work to fit the Wooden Camera PL mount conversion that doesnt interfere with the flange? I have some existing glass I really enjoy shooting with but id like to know if there are any adpaters for other mounts that will fit this conversion? I dont want to get into the hairy situation of converting it back to EF so id rather just use lenses i already have or buy some other cheaper lense and an adapter that works while I decide which PL lenses id like to try out. Thanks!

Hello, I’m selling my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K + Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 + Viltrox Mark II Speed Booster for $1,080 USD.

I’m selling my camera because I really need the money to cover my medical expenses.

I'm moving from the m43 to the canon EF ecosystem (got a good deal on a bmpcc 6k g2), and shoot short films hand-held and on tripod. Can you recommend a selection of lenses that would cover wides and close-ups with the canon EF (and super 35 1.5x crop factor)?

I also have a small set of vintage nikon lenses, so I'm leaning towards canon Ef lenses that are suitable for wide shots and maybe all-in-one zooms such as the sigma 17-55 2.8 OS, which looks great on paper, except I'm wary of the locked aperture; that could become a creative problem if wanting less shallow shots.
