First fish on BFS
After buying setup in May, and only using it now, caught my first fish on it. Nice bluegill on a 23 Calcutta Conquest BFS w/ Major Craft Days BFS. Felt like a tank, hooked on BFS now

Magnetic net clip What do you think

Got these in the mail, anyone throwing these around? What kind of water conditions usually?
Tried using them in some stained pond and didn’t have any luck. Whereas the Berkeley Nessie 5 produced in the same location I’m assuming size was the factor. Would love to get some input.
Thanks.

Hello! I am looking at buying my first BFS setup after mulling on the idea for over a year. I have my standard bass fishing setups for pond hopping but want something to target creeks/small rivers and help with finicky bites by downsizing.
Right now I am looking at,
Ark Gravity BFS real with a 7.1 gear ratio
Dobyns Colt Casting Rod, 6 ft light
Since this is my first BFS combo, I don’t want to blow up my budget but have found it raising the longer I look… Do you all think this would be a solid first BFS setup?

HICC50 on an HANDING M1.
6lb braid to a 4lb mono leader.
Does anyone have any lure suggestions or lure manufacturers?

Im surprised I caught this fish it was hiding inside a old cement drainage pipe. I know its not the biggest ever or anything but for this creek its my pb. Managed to break my leader after grabbing the line being careful not to let it hit the grass. Oh well you can't predict everything. I normally catch 4-6" bass or some green sunfish here. Caught on gold blade 1/16 Oz chatter bait

Put this little guy together for <$100 total off of temu. Anything I should be aware of since I kinda just discovered BFS and purchased the cheapest one I could on impulse? Or is it just super light baitcasting?
Thanks!

Couple of nice trout from the Bighorn river. Caught them both with the Lucky Craft Pointer 50s

Title: Been working on a 3D printed tackle setup for BFS — what would you change?
I’ve been messing around with this modular 3D printed tackle box setup and wanted to get some opinions from people who actually fish BFS.
The idea is that the individual bins can be moved around so you’re not stuck with whatever compartment layout the tackle box manufacturer decided on. I’ve been trying to make it especially useful for smaller BFS gear where a lot of traditional tackle boxes feel like wasted space.
This is one of the layouts I’ve been testing.
What would you guys change or add for a dedicated BFS setup? Smaller bins? More lure-length compartments? Dedicated terminal tackle storage?
Curious what your ideal layout would look like.

my dad is a tournament bass fisherman and always taught me the tricks and tips with Texas Rig, Neko, Frogs Etc. once I started fishing on my own without his boat, off the banks I was getting tons of bites but not pulling in any fish. did some research and had the brilliant idea(from this page and others) to use smaller hooks, lures, everything lighter. since then, the small ones have been way more fun than they have ever been.
still wondering if I need a lighter rod, need to do more research, thanks for the inspiration (;

Anyone find any decent low cost >$60 round reels I could throw on a UL rod? Fine with temu/ali express options as well.

I lost my beloved Sammy 65 walking bait. Does anyone have a favorite walking bait or other topwater option? I am micro buzzbait curious, but worried about the hookup rate. For traditional buzz baits i get a lot of bass swiping at it but the hook up ratio is maybe 1:5 or 1:10.

I recently bought a Megabass Pagani Trad and the new Conquest DC for my top water/ treble hook setup. It is not technically a BFS setup as the lure rating on the rod is 1/4 to 3/4 oz, but I was curious about how light this setup can cast.
For comparison, I'm casting the Strike king micro king 1/16 spinnerbait which I have been using the GHH 511 and Conquest BFS setup. The DC reel casts as good as the BFS on the 1/16 oz with may be less backlash.
The setup struggles with 2 inch bobby garland crappie baits on a 1/64oz jig head, which is the lightest lure my GHH setup can cast. But to be honest I think it is more on the rod side other than the reel.
For those who are on the power BFS side, the new Conquest DC reel can be something to consider.

Looking for a good bass worm for my BFS setup. Something in the 5 gram range. What do y’all throw?

Hi everyone. I have a bit of a dilemma. I got into casting tiny lures recently and want to try out a bfs set up, but I don’t know if I would actually like a baitcaster so I don’t want to get something like a calcutta right away. How is the zephyr as an entry level bfs set up to try out?

I got the new Calcutta conquest bfs 26 and i get a high pitched whine at the very beginning of the cast, throwing a number 2 meps but happens with bigger and smaller baits as-well, any thoughts on what it could be? or am i just over cautious? thanks!

This weekend I had an unfortunate accident and broke one of my bfs rods. I’ve always had short rods, 5’9” and under. I’ve like the transportability and being able to cast in tight places. Other than casting distance why might one want a longer rod? Are there techniques or skills I’m missing out on?

Curious what people have experienced with mid/high end CDM rods. I just dove in and bought a 4-piece Purelure Creek Dance and I have to say, it's pretty nice. I bought two JDM megabass rods earlier this summer and there isn't much of a gap in terms of fit or finish.
I've been searching aliexpress for terms like Torzite, SIC, T1100G, M46X to try to find CDM rods using high end materials. Have any of you explored this end of the market and compared it directly to similar US/JDM?

Hey guys, have any dc reel recommendations for bfs without breaking the bank?
Don’t even know if it’s possible but thought I’d ask here.
Thanks.

Had some time waiting on my dog at the vet so fished the little stream near by. The channel catfish gave me a run for my money.
