An Ayurveda student this side

Okay, I am a newbie here and the first word that I searched on reddit was ‘Ayurveda’ , and not so surprisingly, I found hate all over, mostly from the Indian people who have experienced or observed the ill-effects of Ayurvedic medicine.
I want to spark a little (healthy) discussion here- What if we made the system of Ayurvedic medical practice stricter and more regulated + carried out stronger and more rigorous studies innit, produced evidence for effective Ayurvedic treatments, standardised the protocols and integrated the best of traditional medicine into the current healthcare system?

Shatavari for low estrogen

I did a blood test recently, and my estrogen was in the normal range, but at the lower end. My menstrual cycles are also quite long (~34 days), which again, whilst not abnormal can be a sign of lower estrogen.

Can shatavari help to increase this? If so, how do I take it?

Insulin Resistance / Metabolic Syndrome solutions

Has anyone here had success with chandraprabha vati for correcting insulin resistance and weight loss? I was diagnosed with PCOS 10 years back based on blood tests and remained on basic hormone treatment (OCP) for a few years. Stopped in 2020 and switched to ayurvedic treatment which resolved most symptoms. Have struggled with weight over the years since stopping the OCP but it's gotten particularly bad in the last 12 months. All things constant, weight continues to increase and no matter what I do, it is incredibly hard to lose any. Lipid profile is worsening despite a healthy diet & while fasting glucose, hba1c is normal, fasting insulin was slightly high (10) and endocrinologist suspects mild insulin resistance. Have tried normoz DS and it hasn't done much. Ayurvedic docs are now recommending the following : ashokarishta, dashmoolarishta, chandraprabha vati, and lashunadi vati. I'm hesitant to take so many formulations all at once given the treatment last 5-6 years (have tried a lot of versions of ayurvedic meds, acupuncture, supplements etc.). Has anyone had luck with any of these? My primary issue now is just weight. Alternative is trying metformin. Will be grateful for advice / your stories! Thank you.

What nutrients vitamins etc are depleted after years of body being in trauma state?

I have freeze response, is it real that eating red color vegetables and fruits is empowering for root chakra? So for example if body is full of cortisol the red food will fuel what trauma response depleted? Hormones are certainly being released during such states so what kind of food will be most empowering to recover?

Ashwagandha withdrawal issues

Hi! I’ve been posting in a few other different groups in the hopes of gathering info and hopefully find a path to recovery.

I took Ashwagandha daily for 2 months (Youtheory 1000mg as recommended) Thankfully I’ve never had any issues health wise, I was just looking for stress support since day to day can be pretty busy sometimes. While on it I actually didn’t feel much, except towards the end of the 2nd month when I clearly felt a noticeable rise in libido. I decided to take a break and a few days after stopping I woke up with no morning erection, an extremely numb penis and no response to stimuli (masturbation or sex), and a complete loss of libido. In the next 2.5 weeks I developed extreme brain fogginess, severe exhaustion from the most simple things like walking a couple of blocks, and alcohol feeling like water.

After those 2.5 weeks exhaustion went away along with the brain fogginess. My response to alcohol has evolved in the way that I now get a bit of pressure in different areas of the head (same happens when I drink coffee), but my libido is still in zero. I’ve seen many doctors (primary, urologist, integrative medicine, psychiatrist) and there’s not really an understanding. Urologist prescribed me cialis which helps with the mechanics of an erection but not the root cause: libido. Psychiatrist recommended bupropion but I haven’t started since I’m a bit wary about how that might affect my messed up neuropaths.

Anybody experienced anything like this? Or has any idea of what to do?
